This is part of the reason why I don't think a Malkin trade will happen. Other teams don't value him nearly as much as the Penguins do and the return won't be sufficient enough to warrant trading him. If you really wanted Malkin you would have to offer something a lot more substantial IMO. Keep in mind Malkin is 14th ALL TIME in points per game and is possibly the greatest Russian player to ever play in the NHL. I understand he's 32 but he's been a point per game player 12 of the 13 seasons he's been in the league and as lately as last year he was a Hart trophy candidate.

I would say exactly 29 other NHL teams make better offers for Malkin. This is the type of **** people laugh about for weeks lol

I’m kind of looking at his injury history and that’s why I had NYR offer less.

Malkin is worth more than that. Sure he is old, but he’s not showing many signs of regression (other than being injury prone). His scoring is still at an excellent rate and he would be the top center on almost every team.

Other than the anaheim deal, which still isn't great, these are all quite terrible

The problem is even if it were for one season, look at how much a pure rental gets you. He would have term still and is still a high end player
