<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lowblocksniper</b></div><div>Here's how I would break it down
Monahan for a 1st. fair deal IMO
Xhekaj for McConnell + 4th + 5th, I think it's close-ish but, I don't really see why either team makes the trade. NYR have 4 LHD ahead of him (depends how you feel about Jones) 3 of which are RFAs and MTL likes Xhekaj, Habs fans love him, he's getting lost a little in the shuffle and is in the AHL now but his potential is still there
That leaves Garand + Goodrow to the Habs to eat his contract, hard to judge if it's fair. Great WJC and Junior season 2yrs ago, decent 1st rpo season and slight improvement this year. Habs might want him but, they have just drafted Fowler who looks very promising so not a need. I'd say to bury Goodrow's contract it would take 4 3rd rounders in value (1 for every season) I'm not sure Garand covers that value
All this to say MTL probably declines but, it's not super far off</div></div>
yea as i said it was more of a possible starting point. the reason for monahan is he can play 1st rw or 3rd center with chytil unknown. at best replacing wheeler

what do they need
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy316</b></div><div>I think it depends on what you want.
I mean we value our pieces but certain pieces are in other pieces way
Othman had good Chemistry with Owen Beck so there's interest there to a degree but at the same time we'd pass if its not part of a bigger deal that makes sense as we have Othman types. We'd see value in the possibility for giving Roy a boost next year if he's not seen the NHL yet with Othman-Beck (speedy goal scorer, agitating center and a all around high IQ hockey player)
But the cost has to be worth it
Then its Kakko as we see value for the right Price
But we also dont see him as a top 6 guy but more of a middle 6 guy likely 3rd line like Armia was but way more consistent Offensively.
So we might give up a good prospect and a 2nd but a 1st in a deal for Kakko from our POV is a hard sell
For EDM on the other hand they might jump up and down for Kakko for a 1st.
Its all about team POV
I like Rempe and Barbashev Personally for lower end deals
Rempe provides what we need in the AHL and is a long shot. He's more interested in fighting then learning so at best he's kinda like Pezzetta
Barbashev i love as he's a lot like his brother was at that age , that said he'll need years of investing
Outside that the only People who jump out i really want we dont need or you wont part with as it would be nuts to
I think if i knew who you were after though it would help
If its a big name i'd say there's nothing to complete the deal
If its a younger core piece we've acquired as long as we get what we paid++ we'll listen
But overall NYR and MTL seem to have the same strengths
You're 3 years ahead of us obviously but we drafted deep in the same positions
Which is top be expected given we hired your former GM and his top Draft guy Bobrov along with Team Trainers and Doctors from NYR as well.
Its not Shocking that by Design we just mirror each other in the way our team rebuilt, difference being you land Top Tier Names like Panarin in a rebuild
While we land Monahan (who we love but its not the same)</div></div>
see and monahan is probably who the rangers would be after so i dont think they have the assets to pull it off that they are willing to let go right now

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy316</b></div><div>Another Dach/Newhook type with size preferred
We got RD
We got LD
We got Wingers
We could use a Goalie upgrade on Primeau
But Fowler is the Top NCAA Goalie on the Top NCAA team set to Become IMO the Starter for Team USA this year if not the back up
He's years away so we'd like someone for the next 3-5 years at the NHL level
Outside that we're good
We'd definitely pay more for a Zegras type that fits our Build over another Dach/Newhook type
But we're in no particular rush</div></div>
honestly im a rangers fan but im not sure if we really have anything you would like maybe garand as a goalie but other than that we would probably be willing to move kaako winger , jones a defensemen and a contract for financial purposes on the prospect side maybe McConnell-Barker but not sure if there is a trade fit. what are your thoughts

i think they give jones a chance and with othman i agree i just have hopes that he does impress, i really want o see laf with zib and see if they work together i wouldnt mind for the first few games to be trial

what i want
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Okposo_Lover</b></div><div>This seems the most realistic imo. But do you really think Vesey will ply first line?
I never see rangers fans do this, but why not but Goodrow over vesey? Goodrow is actually good, he was just a weird fit in NY imo. He could really thrive in a first line role though. Plus, Vesey really isnt good imo. Hes a solid depth piece but nothing more while Goodrow has proven to handle top 6 numbers pretty well. Just a thought tho</div></div>
While I 100 percent agree Goodrow is better vesey was very good defensively when in the top 6 last year and this is more of a start and see how they do. Panarin and zib played together the last few years they have always been hurt defending. Imo the point of the 4th line is to hit defend and be a pest. If your playing matchups I feel comfortable with the 4th line starting in the defensive zone knowing if bonino gets kicked I have Goodrow. This keeps the kid line together as well but with more minutes which should be a positive and if they are not playing well via matchups that third line can all just get moved up to play that matchup game. Goodrow and cuyelle are fast hard hitting players trocheck and kreider are fast 2 way players

its more of a win now move panarin is still better then necas and gooddrow is better than drury, for the rangers drury is a relative and necas is another young player while getting out from panarin while leaving room for the canes for the cap spike after this year. it leaves the canes with about 35 million for the following year. with terovinin(7mil) and aho(10+) taking about 17.5 mil of it jarvis and suzuki getting marginal raises of probably about 6 mil between the 2, leaving 11 million between 7 players 6 mil for the depth 2 in the scratches and 3 on rookie deals ( VASILI PONOMAREV,NOEL GUNLER and ALEXANDER NIKISHIN) and possibly martinook on a cheaper deal. that leaves a little over 5 mil for pesce which I believe is a little light for him 6 mil is more likely but a slightly cheaper backup goalie and slightly lower contracts estimates could get them there. while keeping the fast 2 way game this team thrives on. someone other then bunting on a slightly cheaper deal would probably be a better fit PACIORETTY with injury history could probably be for about 4.5 but bunting is younger and healthier. my question would be who could be that 2nd line winger

personally i like your lineup and reasoning i would only have two in the press box with hajek up as the seventh dmen and the other two in the ahl to maximize cap space at the deadline. also, i believe robertson might be better on the third dmen pairing then the other two due to his size, we saw lundqvist get out matched by size, matching up with 3rd and 4th lines where teams have alot of size could be a challenge

in their place halak, trocheck, carpenter, (jones, robertson, or lundqvist) schneider, and in this case othman but blais is in ahl for conditioning, tinordi is in ahl due to skill, halak and georgiev may be a wash as is rooney and carpenter, trocheck could be better then strome or worse we dont know, the kids on d should be a upgrade on talent but make some mistakes due to experience

Strome would literally be your second highest goal scorer and 5th in points at 19 most of which have been without panarin Blackwell would be top 10 in goals 11th in points for your team howden the idea would be to take a depth role nothing more

i would look to resign him on the cheap as of now. hes not playing to his expectations either and this can not last. if it does for the season then so be it. we are in the toughest division in a weird year where teams can study the way to play you to shut one player out. get a high pick and attempt to rebound. they are still in this rebuild stage. i did not expect them to contend this year and they are still so young. a young team will be inconsistent thats the fact of life and we have seen what they can do so we should give the young guys as much opportunity as possible
