Players who can demand a 1st
Henrique, Toews (b/c of cap hit) & Bertuzzi don’t return a 1st imo but otherwise sounds about right.
You’ve listed 21 players but <10 teams will (should) be willing to part with their 1st rounders - will be an interesting TDL. If only the artificially low cap wasn’t blocking so much potential activity

Updated lists of players Leafs should and should not trade for
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>klaw2</b></div><div>You nailed it EXACTLY on the head. All of these guys would make a ton of sense.
ROR, based off acquisition cost alone should be the number one target. For those who are saying he is the next Nick Foligno, that take couldn't be more off base due to the fact ROR KNOWS how to win in the playoffs and was the Conn Smythe winner in 2019. He was St. Louis best player last season in the playoffs and can play both on the wing and C, and I cant imagine will cost as much as Meier, who you said and I agree with - Is the PERFECT add, but the cost to retain him wont work and its not worth the assets they have to give up to get him unless you are doubling down on your core 4 philosophy, and even then, there are teams out there that will out bid the Leafs. I love watching Barbashev and Bennett, those guys would give the Leafs some legit jam on the 3rd line, with the ability to play higher up the lineup.
In terms of players who I believe make sense that they should target that you didn't list:
1- Travis Konecny- Also a guy who is both cost controllable and would add an element the Leafs could use more of, he is quite good.
2- Adam Henrique- An Ontario boy, someone who wouldn't cost a ton to trade for relatively speaking, and is a good versatile forward who can score and play C and the wing. He is playing quite well on a bad Ducks team and is under contract until after next season. He fits in both on the second and third line, and is a the type of guy who seems like he could come in the clutch (IIRC he scored the conference winning goal for the Devils when he was a rookie).
3- Ryan Hartman- This years Blake Coleman, would be a perfect add, only issue is that Minnesota isn't moving him so yea.....
4- Boone Jenner- Same idea as Hartman just only thing is, there is no way Columbus is moving their Captain and no 1 C.
5- David Perron- I feel like for the right price (a 1st, a B prospect and salary filler) Detroit would move him. He was arguably St. Louis best player the last 2 years, and would come with one more year at an affordable 4.75M, and has the resume and stats of a big playoff performer. Only thing is I don't see how Stevie Y will trade him after just signing him.
In regards to the guys you mentioned who you wouldn't want -Garland at the right price would be a good add, he is having a bad season this year but is a legit top 6 forward and brings some snarl to his game, also plays the way Dubas and Keefe like to play. He is much better than Kerfoot. Domi would also be a great add, a) he would look perfect in a Leafs jersey, and b) he is a big game player and I feel like the Leafs need guys like that.
Tyler Bertuzzi I firmly disagree on, and although, yes he has never made the playoffs, but his numbers in the playoffs in both junior and the AHL are terrific, and his style of play A) fits what the Leafs need and B) he is having a down year so the cost shouldnt be too high.</div></div>
Damn I forgot about Travis Konecny, he would be a really good add. The problem I see with Garland is that he has $4M x 3Y contract that we will have to eat up. Even Friedman said there are concerns on how they will fit Bunting without knowing the future of Matthews. If we can't fit Bunting for $4M, we won't be able to afford Garland. Also, acquiring Garland means saying bye to Bunting and I don't want to do that

Does this make sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>klaw2</b></div><div>Lol, usually I put the price quite high, as I know the fans of the other team (in this case Henrique) overvalues their players.</div></div>
In a rare case of levity...... they didn't lol.
But Henrique for me is 100% the target. Not Meier, not Tarasenko, not ROR.
Henrique plays 200 feet, produces offensively well enough to justify top 6 minutes and at half retained, the Leafs can afford to hold into Bunting (provided he does go all Rouge on us and demand crazy money) and Kämpf. Totally fits what Keefe has going on with the team.defense mentality right now. And oh..... he can play centre too! Competently.
For those that wonder if he waives his NTC? He is from Brantford, so moving closer.to home for a crack at a Cup to close out a great career is going to tempt him a great deal.

Deadline 3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>klaw2</b></div><div>Lol Liljegren is not going anywhere, and is arguably Toronto's second most important D. The first + a b prospect and quad A player is quite fair for Bertuzzi</div></div>
I would take those 3 things for bert at this point. If it were last year it’s a different story but I am afraid that even though his reputation and ability is worth a lot the questions depreciate his value to about that.

Out of Left Field Trades
Blue Jackets fans rejected a Nylander for Jenner/Gudbranson trade in another acgm; should give you an idea of how high they value him.

Ah yes, another Bertuzzi to Toronto trade. Time to sit back and watch the bloodbath ensue in the comments.
Carry on.

overturn in da burgh
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>klaw2</b></div><div>Yet on your AGM, you made an outrageous Rielly trade scenario. Unless that was a joke, than dont complain about other people's trade scenarios imo. I dont see Rielly going to Pittsburgh, but the idea for Burke to reunite with Rielly in theory makes sense.</div></div>
LOL yes. It was a joke to prove the point of what would actually have to happen to make this possible.

pretty realistic imo
Congrats on being one of few Leaf posters that have a full roster. Don't know why folks think Jenner is good enough to replace Kerfoot. Foligno, I think there is better value elsewhere.

Change
In all honesty... this isn't bad.
Certainly a lot better than most of the crap that I have seen on here lately.
Vancouver likely needs more.
Some tweaks are needed but, this is a solid effort. Nice work.

Team Canada 2022
I doubt Lafreniere makes this team honestly. Very few 20 year olds will be able to crack a roster as stacked as Canada, and we’ve seen even highly touted first overall picks have meh starts (doesn’t mean he won’t be a star eventually, but he probably won’t be a top line player yet, and Canada is deep enough that top line guys won’t even get a camp invite). I also think Stone is a lock, and will likely play on a matchup line with Marchand and Crosby. Barzal shoots right so it makes more sense to have Huberdeau there (generally easier for right shots to play right wing, unless they’re snipers like Ovechkin, Stamkos, Laine, etc. who like to get the one timer going). I think a 4th line of Tavares-RoR-Barzal makes a lot of sense, with Stamkos-Point-Marner making a very good 3rd line (playmaker Marner with sniper Stamkos, Point’s obviously no slouch, couple good 2-way guys in Point and Marner that should be able to matchup against second lines, leaving top lines for Crosby and co. and 3rd lines for McDavid+MacKinnon to feast on). This obviously means I don’t see Toews making it, I just think they have enough veteran guys and enough defensive guys who are younger and can provide more offensively.

Bennet is easily worth Nylander + in the minds of Flames fans.
