ah okay, just curious as to if i'm hearing this from a rangers fan, preds fan or outside view?

as in preds arent giving up tolvanen or as in why the return for him? know tolvanen hasnt quite made the impact expected previously, so wasn't sure if preds would be open to moving him/what it would take...suggestions?

NYR Gm Mode Setup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>worcat</b></div><div>Blues aren't trading a top prospect and a first rounder for a rental lmfao. Plus Steen has a NTC. Why would he willingly force a trade to miss out on winning another cup? Makes zero sense.</div></div>
well, i was operating under the assumption that the addition of skjei long term, plus the 50% retention on kreider brings kostin into the cnversation. this was not to say steen was forcing a trade, rather he would be okay with it. he may not be, i guess i don't truly know where his head is at, just assumed if the blues have any hope of keeping kreider as more than a rental, steen would be the domino to fall. no need for the lmfao, asked for honest feedback not snarky remarks

NYR GM Mode Setup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>Montreal isn't trading Drouin. Skjei isn't worth anything near that.</div></div>
there were rumors at start of year about habs shopping drouin, and bergevin has a histroy of trading players he says he wont trade. rangers had considerable interest in drouin before he went to montreal, have to assume they still would. montreal always talks about needing a top 4 puck moving defenseman, and skjei is that with term. realistically, what else would have to be added to make this happen?

NYR GM Mode Setup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Book_Hockey</b></div><div>Idk man that Flames trade is pretty bad. Strome's breakout season is a product of Panarin and Buch hasn't been playing well at all. I'm a big fan or Georgiev though, I think he's a stud. No defense in front of him and he has a save % right around .913</div></div>
heard some gaudreau trade rumors, figured some teams may potentially overvalue strome because of his breakout. agree with buchnevich too. considered adding a couple draft picks ie: 2021 2nd, 2022 2nd with condition it becomes first if rangers win cup with gaurdreau on team. thoughts on that?

Another try at fixing the Rangers and making all fanbases happy at the same time
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sidstick87</b></div><div>So u would trade Kreider at $4.6 but trade for and sign Gusev at $4m per??
Im a Pens fan but that makes no sense to me because i would honest to god cut off my pinkie toe if it helped, to have Kreider play on Sid's wing.</div></div>
kreider needs a raise next season, which idk if we could afford and his contract would be risky. gusev's deal is for 2 years, when smith, staal, hank come off books and we can afford it. contract would probably be less risky as well

ANA corresponding to Fixing NYR all teams happy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>All 3 guys I mention are left handed. If you’re not going to play Guhle and Larsson at 21-22 then they are no longer apart of any plans. Eventually they have to play in the NHL full time to see what you have. Mahura is the one that only has 1 season of AHL experience but he got into 17 NHL games last season. So basically your saying you rather pay over 6.6M to hope a guy is good rather than see if your young guys who will be around long term are any good? That makes zero sense.
Also holzer is a 7 D at best plus they signed Hakanpää who could end up being their 3rd pair RD or even MDZ could see time there. Shattenkirk makes little to no sense for the ducks without a huge haul coming with.</div></div>
so shattenkirk ... a RHD is not blocking any of them... it's fowler who is blocking them. wouldn't a defense of lindholm-manson, guhle-shattenkirk, larson-mahura/holzer look better? also a 1st round pick is a pretty huge haul

ANA corresponding to Fixing NYR all teams happy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>Since you’re a ranger fan who are also rebuild/retooling, would you rather play Shattenkirk 2 years or 2 older prospects (21-22) who have 3 seasons of AHL experience plus some decent time in the nhl? There’s also another younger prospect who’s has 1 AHL season but also saw 17 nhl games who could be a possibility.</div></div>
im assuming you're referring to larsson, and two other guysw who I probably don't knwo because I don't hear much about anaheim out east. but they can play over korbinian holzer. i would say leave the 1 AHL season in the minors for atleast 1 more season, while the other two can rotate in and out of lineup with korbinian holzer. defensemen are difficult to gauge. while they may be tantalizing in the minors, the often struggled when immediately thrown into the deep end on a fairly average (fringe of playoffs or worse)NHL team. it happened with skjei a bit in all honesty. youguys could always but out shatty after year 1, but one year of shattenkirk to see if he can rebound, while also gettng a 1st won't hurt anyone. that's my honest opinion. if shatty rebounds, you may not even have to buy him out, as he may have suitors on the market

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>I think I'd want a B prospect included with that 1st. Especially if the pick isn't until 2021.
Marleau= 1 year @ $6ish=1st
Shatty=2 years @ $6.25=1st +</div></div>
How does Ryan Lindgren/Libor Hajek sound? BUT, I think the steep price of a 1st was paid because the Canes had no need for Marleau, he would turn into dead space after being bought out. Although youguys definitely don't need Shattenkirk, youguys aren't going to pay him not to play by buying him out....in fact he can actually help youguys :-). I think the 1st is a pretty fair price considering he's not really screwing anything up or being too much of an inconvenience and he'll likely rebound for youguys with 40+ points.

Doing all these separate ones to prove the trades work for all sides, with all of the caps working for all teams. Combining it all to explain in one HFBoards post. The one with all the NYR trades has been posted already :-)
