Getting Trouba out
No on Paccioretty & Kane together. Only 1 of them preferably the 2nd crack at Kane. also Rangers ain’t paying Kane $5M. He’s signing cheap to get most out of the team. Daily Faceoff says it’ll be NYR or FLA for Kane most likely on cheap deal. Guys made over 100mil in his career money not a factor.

Teams want him cause it’s a 1 year rental.

Bro Kakko has some of the best defensive metrics as a forward in the playoffs this year and regular season. Don’t blurt out dumb **** yaaaa reeeetaaaard
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>glarson17</b></div><div>Nobody cares where Kakko was drafted, he’s a bust for what he was talked up to be. He’s a third liner. Stop being a homer</div></div>

I don’t see why he wouldn’t take $23.5 Million until his late 30s to keep the Rangers a contender as well. He’s made his money his not going to get over 6M unless it’s a bad team. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Artman91</b></div><div>You're not getting Tofolli 4.7M</div></div>

You are a stupid idiot for real if you’d rather keep Sturm & Rutta & a 2’d when you have another 2nd that for a chance at Kakko.
Tough sell tryna tell me Kakko is Zadina you clearly don’t watch hockey you fool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AStovetop</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jjvatore11</b></div></div>
Lmao Point Dexter? You have no idea what you're talking about.
1. Your two examples are the two most notable late bloomers. The MASSIVE majority are the Zadina's of the world and don't pan out. beyond that, at the time Marchy was traded as an INCENTIVE to take Reilly in the expansion. They literally didn't get value back for him. Reinhart already had 4 40+ point seasons including a 50 pt and 60 pt season in the same time frame as Kakko.
2. Players taken in the very late 1st/early 2nd range: Rakell, Jenner, Kempe, Barbashev, Demko, Marcus Pettersson, Aho, Carlo, Cernak, Hintz, Kyrou, DeBrincat, Frost, Romanov, Pinto, Alex Vlasic, Peterka, Faber. That's just looking through very quickly, all of whom I'd take over Kakko
3. It's funny you call me a stat watcher for saying Kakko's not that good and then then say I'm overvaluing Sturm. I guarantee I've seen much more of Kakko than you have Sturm. And I don't blame you, who wants to sit through Sharks games
4. if you think Grier didn't do unbelievable with the Hertl trade then you don't understand the context of that deal. Hertl was injured, 30 years old and had 6 1/2 years left on his deal with a full NMC. Grier was able to not just move him and over 80% of that contracts cap hit, but get back a very good 2-way Center prospect and an unprotected 1st.
5. They have Zetterlund on the Right side for now and the future. Coming as soon as next year they have, Gushchin, Smith, Musty can play the right side, possible 14th overall this year, Hulttunen. They'll be more than fine without Kakko</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AStovetop</b></div><div>No one cares where he was drafted. he's been flat out bad at large stretches and hasn't progressed anywhere near where he was anticipated. He's a solid 3rd line scorer and nothing more. That's where his value is
You are a stat watcher my friend…Watch Kakko play and you will think otherwise. Many young forwards were not good early in career think Reinhardt , Marcheassualt Etc
Also what too 2nd round picks are unreal there? Not many…
And don’t overrate Sturm now cmon dude .
This is not far fetched point dexter… sharks have made plenty worse deals just look at Hertl man. SJ won’t have to worry about what they’re giving up for the hope they have a RW for now and future.
Rutta you can take, but Sturm isn't going for a measly 4th. that 2nd is 33rd overall as well. Pretty much a 1st and that's a hard pass</div></div>

As a fan who watches every ranger game the talent is absolutely there but playing 3rd line most of his career here and no PP time it’s easy to see why he won’t produce. Although he is probably most dynamic guy with size with the puck on the whole team. He needs a change of scenery desperately. He is going to be a good 2nd line RW for years to come I believe that.<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>poeticentropy</b></div><div>I mean good spin but he's basically a bust underperforming when surrounded by a top notch NYR talent. He'll more than likely tank hard on a terrible SJ team. He's not worth the risk of dumping the 33rd OA pick.</div></div>

I can see why they wouldn’t want to give up Dumais. However they are loaded with prospect forwards. You can get Jones who can truly be a Significant peice with ice time that we’ll probably regret. Also Garand will be a potential starter replacement for Elvis which I think entices CBJ. JD also familiar with both if he has any input still w/ Waddell <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CertifiedAverage</b></div><div>Columbus declines.</div></div>

I think RD you guys will be hitting Free agency. I think Lindgren is a perfect LD for you to keep you balanced and not overpay like you would for Skjei. He fits your style as well. With the state tax you can prob sign Lindy in $4m range long term too. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JarvisforSelke</b></div><div>Braden Schneider would probably be more interesting than Lindgren... I don’t think it’s lopsided at all for San Jose to get a former #2 overall pick they can actually play big minutes and revitalize career for 2 UFAs you won’t get more then a 4th for each come deadline time. SJ has multiple early picks too they can afford this for Kakko. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>poeticentropy</b></div><div>Insanely lopsided Kappo trade for NYR. Start off by dropping the 2nd from the trade</div></div>

You play too much gm mode in NHL idiot. A guy that eats the minutes he does year in and year out and playing against top players is not getting under 5M a year. Why would we move trouba for Holl without getting a real replacement on the right side in any other moves. You can’t move trouba no matter how you and a lot of ranger fans probably feel about him cause his down year without getting a significant player to eat at least 18-20 minutes a night and be a big time penalty killer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rags21</b></div><div>Then they would have signed him for that amount this past season. Kane is still gonna want $2m+
The rangers don’t need “grit”….they literally need puck moving defensemen and 5v5 scoring</div></div>
Dude you’re an idiot…. They were best team in league when he signed they didn’t offer him anything they didn’t wanna mess with it. Mika & Kreids def can use him healthy and he’s motivated to win a cup here…. It’s gunna happen and when it does I’m gunna @ you you clown…..
And yes they do need more big guys like McBain & Bjustad they got pushed all over by BIG gritty teams like FLA & CAR they only got as far cause the OT Wins watch the games brooo
Also trouba couldn’t skate he was just fine the last two years he’ll bounce back. And miller & Schneider will only get better. You can’t deal guys with no value deadline will be the interesting time not the off-season most likely

Reports online he’ll come back for league minimum. Already made his money wants to pick his team which is NYR. The perfect passer for Mika/Kreider
Also Martinez is a veteran big shot blocking presence as a 6th d man. Can move up in lineup if needed. Huge upgrade for that spot.

2024-25 Roster Bigger-Some Changes
I have to disagree, if Buchnevich had more term on his deal sure rangers would probably have to cough up another 1st…..but he’s not leaning towards staying and if you can get a future Top 6 Center and a 1st rounder in 2 Years you have to take it.
Rentals barely get 2 first round picks in return. At this point Buchnevich is that for anyone trading for him.
Also have you seen The Blues Center Depth? Yikes. Chytil is enough with that protection let’s not act like just cause last year what Chytil was considered to be around the league moving forward. That is a very risky trade for NYR to give up Chytil for a rental.
