<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>Top 6 ceiling...</div></div>

I had this written out elsewhere so I didn't just type this but these are some comparable goalie trades, similar to Georgiev. Potential future starter, &lt;30 years old. Age then stats at trade time are shown in parentheses. For reference, here are Georgiev’s comparables (23 / 23 GP, .910 SV%, 3.11 GAA). What makes Georgiev different that he's getting a top-six ceiling player?

6/22/18 Brooks Orpik, Philipp Grubauer (26 / 35 GP, .923 SV%, 2.35 GAA) &lt;&gt; 2018 2nd Round Pick
2/21/18 Darcy Kuemper (27 / 19 GP, .932 SV%, 2.33 GAA) &lt;&gt; Tobias Reider, Scott Wedgewood
2/19/18 Petr Mrazek [$2 mil retained] (25 / 22 GP, .910 SV%, 2.89 GAA) &lt;&gt; 2018 3rd Round Pick*, 2019 3rd Round Pick*
6/23/17 Derek Stepan, Antti Raanta (28 / 30 GP, .922 SV%, 2.26 GAA) &lt;&gt; 2017 1st Round Pick, Tony DeAngelo
4/28/17 Scott Darling (28 / 32 GP, .924 SV%, 2.38 GAA) &lt;&gt; 2017 3rd Round Pick
6/20/16 Frederik Andersen (26 / 43 GP, .919 SV%, 2.30 GAA) &lt;&gt; 2016 1st Round Pick, 2017 2nd Round Pick*
6/30/16 Martin Jones (23 / 15 GP, .906 SV%, 2.24 GAA) &lt;&gt; Sean Kuraly, 2016 1st Round Pick
6/27/15 Cam Talbot (27 / 36 GP, .926 SV%, 2.21 GAA) &lt;&gt; 2015 3rd Round Pick, 2015 2nd Round Pick, 2015 7th Round Pick
6/27/15 Eddie Lack (27 / 41 GP, .921 SV%, 2.45 GAA) &lt;&gt; 2015 3rd Round Pick, 2016 7th Round Pick
5/1/14 Jaroslav Halak (28 / 52 GP, .921 SV%, 2.25 GAA) &lt;&gt; 2014 4th Round Pick
3/4/14 Viktor Fasth (31 / 5 GP, .885 SV%, 2.95 GAA) &lt;&gt; 2015 3rd Round Pick, 2014 5th Round Pick
6/30/13 Cory Schneider (26 / 30 GP, .927 SV%, 2.11 SV% &lt;&gt; 2013 1st Round Pick

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>YoucancallmeHockeyman</b></div><div>Bruh, alongside the fact that your reasoning is pourous, as a team that is full of passers, adding one more sounds like the exact thing they need..right?

Please, do not sell me on the notion that this is a good idea. His .54 even strength points/60 can be an asset; but, his points are a result of 76% primary assists. So, on a team where Panarin, Buchnevich, Strome, Fast, Howden and all but one of the defensemen (Staal) generate their points on primary assists, you want to add one more passer, and utilize a great asset in Georgiev on such a little deal?

Yeah..no.</div></div>

I'm sorry I don't understand your reasoning one bit. It's insatiably nitpicky. What do you want for Georgiev? An established 30-goal scorer? This is his value, like it or not. Young roster player and decent pick.

Also, using primary assists as a negative is insane reasoning. I don't see how Howden is related, he has one 5v5 primary assist this year. Fast isn't in the top 5 amongst forwards in 5v5 primary assists. Your reasoning is flawed by a country mile. Let's not forget that Fast could be gone in the offseason/trade deadline, and Kreider (who's fourth in 5v5 primary assists) could be gone too. That's a lot of offense on the wing that needs to be filled. I don't see why Hirose can't be that guy.

He's got decent possession stats and his isolated offensive impact is strong for a guy with that experience. I think you're wildly overlooking his value for a rebuild and overvaluing Georgiev as a trade piece. Recent trades for goalies of his age/stats show that this is what the return should look like.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spanky227</b></div><div>Kovy is a right handed shot that can play RW if needed. Spooner is a natural center that was moved to the wing. Whichever of Necas or Andersson is more ready for the center position I would put there. Andersson and Chytil have chemistry and so do Necas and Chytil.

Carolina is a borderline playoff team.. most likely won't be a top 10 pick and will fall somewhere 12-17. Necas was a number 12 pick. Zucc's fair value is definitely a 1st rounder in that range, necas for hayes and vesey is a fair trade (if not a slight overpayment). That's what i was thinking with JT, unlikely yes but there is still a chance. If/When rangers sign Kovy all that they are really missing is that elite #1 center, zib is more of a 1b center right now.

yes we jettisoned McD and Miller to tampa, but miller=namestnikov essentially. Skjei has been better than McDonagh all year, and if we can get Dahlin, NYR will be in serious contention for JT since they can offer him a 12m contract. they still have the King in net, Gregoriev looked really good in his two starts despite the losses. We have heir apparent sheshtyorkin as well as forward/defensive prospects that are very exciting (andersson, chytil, necas [from trade], day, dahlin [if we win lottery], hajek, howden, as well as 11 picks over the first three rounds in the next two years[at least 4 first rounders if not 5]) . If he signs with the rangers, they are immediate playoff contenders and once tampa runs into it's cap issues in two years (with development) we will be true contenders for the cup.</div></div>

Your analysis really just hinders on the Rangers getting Dahlin. Even if the Rangers get Dahlin, San Jose will pay Tavares boat loads more, and gives a better chance at the cup. Why would Tavares go from being surrounded by young talent and defensive liabilities in NYI, to go to supposedly more young talent and defensive liabilities? You have to at least somewhat understand that Tavares (if he even leaves NYI) WON’T sign with another team that’s rebuilding. Like, just use your common sense. I don’t even know how to phrase it better than that. San Jose will offer him the same deal, if not more, and they’ll IMMEDIATELY be stanely cup favorites. Not favorites in 2 or 3 years when Tampa hits contract issues.
