Just a fun little idea, hence why it's Unthinkable.</i></div></div>

Rielly isn't an improvement. At best its a wash. Jesus people over value Rielly its actually crazy.</i></div></div>

Rielly is a much better defenceman than Trouba. I don't know how you can argue against that. He was drafted higher, and has been improving year after year, and really showed his talent playing on the top pairing on Team Canada at the IIHF, and on Team North America. There's a reason why he was Team North America's #2 guy, then #1 guy after Ekblad got hurt, while Trouba was on the bottom pairing or scratched for the tourney.</i></div></div>

Yet all his defensive NHL numbers are much worse than Trouba's and I'm not going to put much stock in how Charrelli rates defencemen. (He actually is high on Larsson) So in the NHL rielly is better offensively than trouba but trouba is better defensively and better without the puck. Like I said Rielly is not an upgrade.</i></div></div>

We're gonna have to agree to disagree then. I do agree that Trouba has the edge defensively, I mean he was drafted to be a defensively minded number 1 guy, but his defensive numbers haven't been outstanding like a Hampus Lindholm. In other words, the offensive gap between Rielly an Trouba, is much larger than the defensive gap between the two. The game is also changing to the point where best defensive ability is the ability to skate or move the puck out of trouble , and I think we can agree Rielly is a much better puck moving guy who has the better skating ability. I do believe his defensive numbers will get better over time as he uses his speed and puck moving abilities to his advantage.
