<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Don't you if you live the Toronto areas or not, but I don't know why anyone would think the media is hell. Just isn't true. The news media is very soft on their teams. There is more social media but it can be ignored. Take this website, you will note how supportive and at times easy fans are on their team. This "media is hell" rumour was started by the Brian Burke. He only criticized the media and recently the fans as a red herring to cover his incompetence as Leaf hockey executive. To this day, this is still his gig, blaming the media for decision making. Do you read or watch any of the Toronto media to reach your conclusion or to you get this information throug rumours.?</div></div>

I don't have to live in the Toronto area to know bs when i hear it. Toronto mainstream hockey media to be more specific, guys like dreger, mike johnson, elliot friedman, doug maclean, just to name a few with the exception of don cherry because we all agree he's a crazy old man with bizarre fashion tastes, are all toronto homers. everytime the rest of the hockey world has to hear some of these clowns prop up the leafs and drive home their op-ed narratives, it makes us all cringe while the leafs fan base continues to believe they're the sun of the hockey world while the rest of the nhl are the planets orbiting around them. it's just sad. and to be fair, i'm not bashing hockey canada or anything like that. I respect the fact that hockey is canada's past time. my issue is mainly the disconnect from reality the vast majority of leafs fans experience.
