Utah isn't Arizona they won't be taking salary to reach the floor with 33 year old 3rd/4th liners.
To get any return you're retaining half then it's marginal at best.</div></div>
IMO the sharks would pay a late pick for him, especially if Celebrini and smith are in the lineup, great guy for them to develop around, and to help lead with the lack of vets there

I like the simplicity.
I would play Koivunen over Puustinen. I don't think he's an NHL level player. He's like Robertson in TOR. Good when other people carry him on their back, but really that's no help to the team.
Maybe we can trade him to TOR for a 2nd.
I also like Rakell on the 1st line. Because the only way to dump that contract is to pump him up, right?
Past that the 3rd pairing is total garbage but maybe Pickering can fix the year after. Who knows.

This sentiment is getting old, someone will pay a late round pick for him, it’s mostly up to his MNTC. Beauvillier and Zucker both got traded without retention or payment, and they both have similar cap hits to smith, BOTH do not have the production or the experience smith has, and smith can play PK and PP. its getting out of hand hes not that far removed from being an impact player on a Stanley cup winning team, someone will take him, without retention and also not taking picks from us.

Young fast cheap 40 point pace winger with upside who Dubas loves? Could totally get your worse 2nd rounder</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bast</b></div><div>Looking from afar, I think everyone except CHI accepts.</div></div>
put down the pipe.
Just because TOR drafted him in the 2nd round doesn't mean that's his value.
He has little to no value, and you can be assured the penguins aren't trading for him. He offers nothing to the penguins.
He's at best a middle 6 LW. Which the penguins don't need. They have both DOC and Bunting there. WTF they need a 4'1" AHL level guy there who disappears when games get hard.
Fact is you take his time off the top line in TOR and his point value is nothing. He's just there taking up space. It's like trying to say Puustinen is a 30 pt winger. He's worth your 2nd round pick.
Penguins have no interest and no need for that crap. They got multiple young prospects who are better than him in the wings which everyone would rather play.

I’m not even sure that I’d trade the 3rd for him, but that’s probably his value. He’s definitely not worth a 2nd.

The dude was playing injured all year. He’s not a cap dump. That’s just dumb. He had 60 pts the year before. To treat him like a cap dump because of one so-so year when he was injured the whole year is ridiculous lol

Sharks should be all over that in my opinion. They want to add a goalie and Rakell is a declining but solid vet

I'm not willing to give up Puustinen and Murashov to subtract from the roster. I like the McNabb idea, though.

I'd probably have Pusty in there for one of the other young guys - but that's maybe just personal preference. Overall I think it's a solid lineup, and fairly realistic too

Appreciate the shoutout my guy ahahaha. The Middleton trade is just because I think he fits super well and it might be time to move on from PO. That totally leaves out the Wild element, wasn’t sure if there were extension talks or not with them, because I know they really like him. Just my two cents 🙌

Based on what DUBAS said today in his press conference
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fil97</b></div><div>in my opinion, reading through the line of what he said today, we need graves to go back to last years form because we are kind of stuck with him with his contract which will be tough to trade. I do believe he will trade smith, last year of his contract and easy to trade for a late pick to a rebuilding team that will flip him retained at the deadline. honestly he wasn't awful but at the same time we needed more from him in particular down the stretch. Blomqvist I agree will be the backup (I do believe dubas might try to trade jarry if Ned can resign for less, very difficult tho we'll see).
personally, I would stay away from debrusk. he is good don't get me wrong but I think we need more consistency and not having a similar player to smith, even if a bit better.
if you trade smith and not sign debrusk you have 12mil left on the cap which I would give to puusty and guentzel. I know not easy but I do believe bringing back Jake is a huge boost not only for the present trying to make the playoffs but also for the future rebuild in a couple of years.
imo 7x10m is a tough offer to decline.
have like:
Jake sid rust
bunting geno raks
o'connor eller puusty/yager
and your fourth line.
what about Koivunen : is he actually close to make the team or not really?</div></div>
yep, I agree with you. If we can trade Jarry for an ok return I think he does it. If we could trade Smith and get Guentzel back I would do that. My issue is I am not a fan of Puusty on the 3rd line, I would love if Yager could be ready and play 3rd line wing for sure. In terms of Koivunen, Dubas made a comment at the trade deadline press conference that its going to depend after the season on his status for coming over to the AHL or even NHL. We will know more close to training camp on him. I think Yager has a better shot this year, but I just stuck Koivunen there for now.

From what I’ve looked at and researched, he’s probably our best prospect not to see the NHL, as for if he’s coming, I’d have to look idk if he’s under contract in Liiga, but he’s flourished there. Only question will be if he translates to the nhl, but the prospects I’m most excited to see are yager and koivunen.

This may be happening, but I would be glad as the Kings to get Ned for that amount, especially with the Cap rising. Let's see where he's going in the end of they day. ;)

I also think Byram + 2 1sts and Johansen to balance the cap is enough but, you would disagree and I'm fine with that
