Making Trades with BUF
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>I think we’re both biased and perhaps over value our own players. This proposal really comes down to needs and I see BUF Fans looking to turf Olofsson & Luukkonen on here all the time to make room for the next guys
BUF could use a Big Physical 3LD since Stillman isn’t that good. BUF Fans are always calling for help at RD, so DeSimone might offer something. He had a great year for the Wranglers. Vladar is far better and starter ready than I think you want to give him credit for
As for Krebs, he’s no better than Ruzicka and the other two guys are just replacement players for our prospect pipeline in exchange for better prospects.
You’d be getting a recent 3rd Round Picked Russian Centre (ps Centres typically play all 3 forward positions) and a Huge Czech Right Shot RW, something you don’t have and need. Besides that, both would be a great fits with/for the rest of your Russian & Czech Prospects
Both Trades are closer and fit each Team’s needs better than you think, but we can always agree to disagree if you want</div></div>
Sabres already have top 3 centers in place with Tage, Cozens, and Middlestadt. RFA in Jost who will likely be back.Prospects coming in Kulich, Savoie, and Oustlund, who are all playing center and all progressing quite nicely. Also Stillman played quite well for the Sabres down the stretch. He is clearly a 3rd pair or 7th defenseman on a strong team and does not have upward mobility but none of these players from Calgary add to Buffalos need for a top 4 veteran defense oriented right D

Another project
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>You are comparing Garland to Anderson because they are wingers?! Need I say more?!
Teams value Anderson's body type and speed. These arent nobodies saying that Anderson is worth a 1st plus an A prospect. This is Pierre Lebrun and Frank Seravelli. The same ppl that nailed the Chiarot price last season among others. I'm not being close to ridiculous or 'wild' if anything this price is low
You need to actually digest what I'm saying before responding. There is a clear disconnect.
The guy that will prevent the Devils from retaining those yougn pieces is Timo Meier with a 10M qualifying offer. Believe it or not Anderson's cost certainty is worth something, Seravelli has said this over and over. Meier's contract talks aren't something teams cherish.</div></div>
I guess a first, young roster player, and a prospect were not enough for Hughes. Anderson must to be to important of a piece on the rebuild to let go of

Weaponizing cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>No there isnt plenty of options. Stop acting like every player wants to be in that miserable town and you are flush with number 1 options. There are maybe 5-6 legit number 1 tenders in the league. Its an extreme example for an extremely biased fan base that thinks Levi will lead them by himself without injury or letdowns in a long year.</div></div>
If you have listened to anyone in the organization talk they are not looking for a legit # 1 starter. Their plan is for Levi to be the number one starting next year and to perhaps acquire a 1b veteran to back him up and handle a heavy load if he struggles. Money talks. The Sabres have plenty of cap to overpay a veteran UFA on a 1 - 2 year deal to come to Buffalo

Weaponizing cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>lmao. Your defense allowed a record 30 goals in 5 home games in 1 stretch beating the previous high from expansion. Stop being a homer. The sabres defense is putrid and Harris has been playing the right and left. He make the Sabres immediately competent. And goalies stats are all over the map, Allen is consistently healthy and has had great seasons in the past in a limited role including the cup winning season at over .930 save percentage but sure go for Tristan Jarry and overpay for an often injured keeper.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>As a starter on a tanking team that has tried to give him rest as much as possible, yes. Allen would have started a lot more games had they meant something like in Pittsburgh. Neither here nor there. Again Allen isnt the prize here. The Sabres need stability in nets. He can easily go for a 3rd round pick same price they paid. Jarry will go much higher.</div></div>
What is the obsession with Tristan Jarry. As if he is the only ufa goalie. I doubt he someone the Sabres consider. They will be looking for a 1b for 1- 3 years max that can play 30 to 45 games if levi falters. Their are plenty of options that fit that bill in the ufa free agent market

It's a flimsy take to me to say the least. He really started turning it around in the 2nd half, presumably after he got used to Torts system. Another year of that, plus hopefully next year being the first steps to contention, will show he can be relied on for 20-22 mins a night.</div></div>
29 is not a bad age for a defensemen. However, expecting further growth and development in their game moving forward is foolish. Over the last couple of decades of the thousands of dmen that have played in the league only a handful have improved at that age with a much larger portion of them regressing significantly from that point on

I wouldn't argue that the offer is lacking and needs to better to obtain Saros, but to say the preds have lots of elite young talent is laughable

I think the Sabres would probably say yes to this deal, but no reason for them to retain as they would be taking on more cap in the deal. I would expect the Sabres to retain half on mantha and try to move him themselves in a separate deal. He would be redundant. Similar player to Greenway, big winger with very limited production. At least Greenway plays with some physicality

Olofsson is the last guy who could hit 30 by the end of the year. He may no longer be a top six forward, but he is an elite third line player if nothing else, and represents the depth of the scoring winning teams need. If you can have three lines of players, who can put up 40 or 50 points minimum, you’re a dangerous team. He may price himself out of Buffalo after next year, making him a trade deadline asset. But it also wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted to hang onto him because his talent creates mismatches against third line players on other teams.</div></div>
He is a streaky shooter that is liability on the ice when he is not scoring. It is great to have 30 goal scorers but if the other team is generally scoring more when this player is on the ice than his team they are not winning players. This is a constant for Oloffson

IMO he is a great shooter that does nothing else well. The Sabres have several elite shooters (Thompson, Quinn, Tuch, Skinner, Cozens). On this team his skillset is redundant and he has negative value. He may have positive value for a team that lacks elite shooting talent and could use a shot like his to add a dimension to their PP.
