with salary retained not really. Lucic has fallen off but he is still capable of playing on the 3rd or 4th line and maintaining plus possession and goal diff. maybe 1.25mil isn't enough retained but there are still teams that value his toughness. i am actually fine with him staying a oiler and playing on the 4th line if he cant be moved in a reasonable deal. ya its dead cap space but its a better use than over paying to get rid of him. also if you want to go and say it cost Toronto a first to get rid off Marelue well Toronto painted themselves into a corner and had no choice but to make a desperation move. the oilers don't have to move lucic

He is not as bad as media and some members of ACGM community portrayed him to be. BUT he should be much better than he was because sometimes during this season he looked terrible.
