What is Timmins status
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>If that's what's going on the NHLPA would likely kick up a fuss. Timmins being forced not to play despite being able to do so would limit his earning capacity so why would he agree to that? If he misses too many games nobody will pay him well when his contract expires next off-season.</div></div>
I agree there's too many reasons why it doesn't make sense to force players to sit on ltir...maybe waivers is less desirable or the minors is worst and they want to keep him healthy and ready but most of all it's just not a healthy fully ready to play guy on ltir there's no way.

This team is scary
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>Actually I'd say that Joseph's value has never been LOWER... not so much because of him, but moreso because of Ottawa's cap situation. Teams know that they're in a bind and are asking for a 1st or Boucher to take on Joseph's caphit to enable Ottawa to sign Pinto.
In isolation though Joseph was probably valued higher when he was on a cheap contract where his play exceeded his contract. Now his contract isn't really a "value" contract, though it's probably not a "bad" contract either, just fair value.</div></div>
That makes sense but also teams do favors for other teams also with the hopes of getting a future favour done as long as the player can help their team because if you decline an opportunity to upgrade your team and play hardball that also has consequences in the future

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GarthBrooks</b></div><div>Since he's on LTIR he has to miss a minimum of 10 reg season games so iunno i feel like it was some funny business/convenience so we don't loose him on waivers</div></div>
I think this has been happening in the league unfortunately it's a flaw in the cap system and plus it's too tight lately needed to move a bit higher the past couple of years....but then again I ask if it really is happening it's hard to say, maybe even small bumps or bruises the team says go on ltir make sure it's perfect or we have to put you on waivers lol because I think when they come off ltir they are waiver exempt to play in the minors for conditioning but I'm not sure how long that last....overall it's weird for sure.

Brodie Out
Brodie is trash but Domi is worth what he gets paid at 3-3.5m maybe even a tad more and he's a great teammate, there are brand new guys there give it time and the team has 4 superstar options to score so it's not easy to get a ton of points elsewhere but he is very valuable to the team

Realistic
You have to give up a lot to get Larsson out of Seattle and tanev is another heart guys for their team out there, the players are high value to the Leafs but to Seattle it's a new group of guys for heart and soul players to their team doesn't work...
I know it's ridiculous but the only consideration for Larsson would be Nylander and there's no chance the Leafs do that they would rather a broken defense group I believe they are all in on Nylander and I'm fine with it.

Lines for the road trip
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SomeonesOffended</b></div><div>I could dig this but jarnkrok was a beast on that second line</div></div>
This is better knies and minten a much better opportunity to succeed jarnkrok was a beast on the second line but he was a beast on the third line too..the thing is knies and minten did fine together but they could do so much better with 2 vets on their side instead of overworking to keep up all the time because they are still adapting but also they are doing great.
These were my lines from the beginning I don't want to over think it but what Keefe did might be genius because what he did was get Domi playing with top guys to push him and he also got knies and minten together which pushed them a lot and it's the right time to play with your food but now he is making the correct lineup just now guys have more experience playing all over which is good as a team to have so it should work out well against Florida I hope knies and minten get on the board well knows might score up there now

I don't understand how they even make the playoffs year after year but I guess with Pheonix Anaheim san Jose out there it must be pretty fun but if Kopitar ever had an injury they would be completely useless

TDL needs addressed
If it's double retained we have to give up more than one piece back right? A first is too much also, I think we should look at other options than tanev and to be honest I am beginning to doubt that tree is making deals with Calgary
The teams I think tree will deal with a probably ones that were rumoured over the summer to have discussions about certain players and maybe trs he dealt with in Calgary so I think that is Anaheim, buffalo, st. Louis and whoever else I think he's done deals with Montreal but I think at the moment Calgary and tree are probably distancing each other even though there is a lot of history I would think each want to do their own thing apart from one another

COMPETE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>it's always amusing how the answer is always a "big strong defenceman" and not a good defenceman. one of those is helpul, the other is not</div></div>
No 100% you are right they must be good that's probably why smaller guys get the chance because they are just much better at puckoving and skating which really is first and foremost so when the comment gets made you need to be bigger and stronger yes it includes being able to skate and be smart etc.
Benoit looks bad in my opinion I don't like how Holl played in Toronto and these guys have size and get in the way of players...I think holls size kept him around even without hitting he could've played without a stick in my opinion since he couldn't handle a puck
Big strong defenseman are way harder to go around and the make it dirty in deep and they move guys much easier and the Leafs defense you could say are very skilled but yikes they have trouble being physical and sorry but you can't play defense if you can't be physical on the body and strong enough to dig out pucks and move it up a little stick check can't effect guys like it is in toronto..

I think it's clear as the sky is blue that the Leafs need big strong defenseman more than anything else how they get it I have no idea...I kind of think Timmins can help the team a lot I'm not sure how he gets in there also
I like Jani hockey in Dallas too that's Jani Haakanpaa so we'll see what happens with these guys this season.

A lot of issues in the Hawks game Bertuzzi penalties, Klingberg sucked on the pp, Liljegren sucked, McCabe, Marner, Brodie, knies didn't show up to play hockey, Keefe mix and matching lines just because

Klingberg was trash on the pp last night so his ability to play wing will not be any better
He was alright on defense though
Liljegren, mccabe, Marner, knies, Brodie never showed up last night, bertuzzi played decent but hurt the team with penalties, Klingberg played well but completely ruined the pp with passes into Hawks players and wrist shots into the goalies chest
And soderblom did play very well.
Anybody know why Keefe removed Domi to insert jarnkrok was anything bad happening with line 2 or 3 so while Nylander and Tavares were flying with Domi and Jarnkrok and minten were shutting the opposition down Keefe decided to switch it all around?
Chicago is the team to try line combos out but why does he live to change things for no reason just go out get a win and be done but he made it complicated
I think Klingberg plays first line pp because he's not trusted to play defense on the second group if things go south but that is dumb Rielly should be on the first group
Keefe is a awesome guy but just complicated with line combinations for sure.

We could keep him but I don't see how he fits on the Leafs over anyone in the top 9 that's why trading him so he can maybe play in the NHL might be smart....might.
Probably play the whole year in the AHL I'm guessing now just to make sure he can stay healthy for a full season regardless of how good he does if he stays in Toronto.

Fantasy Land
Minten is doing great I believe and they would want to continue playing him not sitting him if he's on the team well maybe he will go back to junior not sure if he can return if he goes to junior this season but I think that maybe clearly be an option where Kane replaces Fraser on the roster and as for where Kane will fit in I think it's completely fine to insert him into the top 6 by moving Domi back or maybe Tavares becomes 3rd line center and maybe that's why Nylander was being looked at in the center position if Kane would come and play the right side but Nylander could go to.the left side
Opening my eyes to the idea that Kane definitely could want to join the Leafs.

Fraser Valley needs your support now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GreatWhiteNorth</b></div><div>So if he’s riding the bench why do you wanna trade one of your top prospects for him? .. is Niemela available? Yes he is actually. But they’re not throwing him away for a 6/7 defenceman that would likely be a 8/9 guy on the Leafs</div></div>
Giordano definitely won't be on the team in the playoffs 100% Brodie is about 50% for me none of the current Marlies will be on the team unless niemela takes big steps forward in his defensive game Timmins is a long shot just because of the cap and if he joins the roster they have to send Giordano to the Marlies which means I doubt he will be back on the leafs...so we'll see who fills those spots
Ofcourse there's possibility of injuries that could change a bunch of things but they will be looking closely at the defense all year, Benoit will not take a spot long term he's not good enough.
