Hoffman is 31 next season and Hall has had injury problems the last few years. I would hope chevy is smarter than to sign either of those guys to any term

I think it's a bit to the advantage of the Kings here. Kempe works better as a winger they tried him as a center and it sort of throws his game off, I think the Kings would probably be crazy not to take this deal. Kempe, Grunstrom, a high 2nd rounder, and a protected 1st is a steal. The Kings could probably flip this at the deadline while retaining and get more back.

Not gonna set up a trade for each team. Just wouldnt be shocked if these teams were enticed to make an offer if this really got the interest of WPG's management.
Anaheim
Nashville
Montreal
Ottawa if they were willing to give up picks
Chicago
Calgary
Flyers
All these team imo. Not saying they should or will. But this is a lackluster offer for an RFA on the brink of being a consistent 40 goal scorer.

To expand on this, the jets already have an adrian kempe in their system but he's younger and plays essentially the same role. Roslovic and Kempe are both players drafted at center, have seen top 6 time on the wing but haven't been trusted to play center in the top 6 for good reason. If the Jets were interested in using a kempe type as an experiment at 2C, they don't have to look beyond their current roster

well then if thats the case I can think of many teams being able to outbid this offer.
Edit: to clarify not saying its probable but if im WPG and im negotiating with LA second overall or Turcotte has to be in the trade.

I don’t think he should be the centrepiece of a Laine trade tho

You really can not expect to clear cap and get maximum value it’s really one or the other, but your right Bozak at 50% does have positive value. Maybe Steen half retained might fit better?</div></div>
Moving Bozak, Sanford, and Gunnarsson would be enough room for Pietrangelo and Dunn. I think they could figure it out, even if they had to attach a pick to bozak. Either way, using dunn to shed cap to sign Petro sounds like a bad idea to me. Hopefully they have a better plan.

Hags-Dowd-Hathaway</div></div>
It'd be fun. I don't think they're gonna do it, though. They've got Boyd and Sprong who need ice time, and a lot of guys who did okay in Hershey last year, to say nothing of McMichael or Protas.

Lundqvists to DC
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buchiegang</b></div><div>Well, considering McMichael has really proven nothing beyond being able to dominate within his own age bracket (players like Nail Yakupov, Pavel Brendl, and Nicklas Jensen all did the same, if not better, and we all know how they ended up) whereas Lundkvist has been records for defenseman at his age (surpassing players like Erik Karlsson, Matthias Ohlund, Adam Larsson, Rasmussen Dahlin and Victor Hedman) in a league against men, you may find that their doesn’t seem to be much of a chasm in value at all! There’s more to a prospects resume then WJC stats...</div></div>
I understand that points in swedish leagues are more valuable than points in juniors. Definitely get that. Grown professionals are bigger and stronger and have more experience, so playing against them should be tougher. I think that Nils is closer to NHL ready than McMichael. But he's also a draft class older. Age is important in prospect evaluation. McMichael has time. But I just read that he was in the playoff bubble this year, practicing with the team. So he's probably not too, too far off.
If you're arguing that once a prospect shows they can play against grown-ups, it's just a short step to the NHL and they can't regress, I mean, look at ten AHL players' stats, and you'll find a couple who had down years. Some bounce back. Some don't. Yakupov is still having ups and downs, but now in the KHL. His first year back after the NHL, he got 33 points in 47 games, which sounds impressive. This year he's started off with just 3 points in 7 games, which doesn't. But you know what, maybe the Rangers could sign him and get him going again. I don't know that he ever played on an NHL team that had another Russian player on it, so joining Panarin and Buchnevich could help him adjust better to the North American game, the second time around. The Caps don't have a roster spot for a project this year, because their window is closing, but what if Yakupov really does possess unique skill? What if he just needs a supportive environment?

Philadelphia Flyers signed Robert Hägg (2 Years / $1,600,000 AAV)
Hagg is a below average defenseman that gets dominated in possession and expected outcomes.
I honestly do not understand what some fans are so excited about with this guy, except that he has hits and blocked shots... two stats that only happen because he cannot manage the puck. If you watch him closely, you can see him realize that he has no idea where he is supposed to be in his own end and then he reads it, 2 seconds too late.

Don't they still have another two seasons until Kakko comes due? One for Fox, right? They have Staal's 5.7 off the books, 3m this year and like 7m next year from Hank's buyout. Smith is up after this year. I don't understand where the panic is coming from.

The rangers can move whoever they want in the future. Most for decent returns. Again this is all very simple. Things can change drastically over the next few years.

Contenders
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buchiegang</b></div><div>I wouldn’t say he’s better if anything they are equal, and Strome had the better year hence slightly better value.
No. Smith is still a serviceable defenseman who’s real cash cap hit is next to nothing (~1.75 mil I think because of signing bonus) making him a very attractive asset to Ottawa (see Namestnikov this year). Sens also need a goalie and Georgiev would be a perfect age: 1A potential, likely cheap contract, still very young. Plus they have a plethora of 2nd’s (this one being the latest).
To dump Smith it would probably be something like a 3rd + Smith = a 5th.
Georgiev + Smith = a late late 2nd is more then fair</div></div>
Sens dont "NEED" a goalie. Nilsson/Hogberg tandem is more than capable. Georgiev is not an upgrade to the Sens current goalie prospect pool. Id put him on the same level as Hogberg. Then they have Daccord, Gustavsson and Madolese in the AHL and Sogaard in junior.
Smith only logged an average of 11min per game and his possession stats are ugly. 3rd pairing guy. Sens have Chabot, Brannstrom, Wolanin, Reilly and Lajoie all on the left side already.
A late 2nd for Georgiev straight up is probably, but as soon as you add Smith's contract, that return plummets. Sorry, pass.
