Yeah. I assume they'd probably ask for Pasta as the first return, then DeBrusk or Charlie. I in no way see the Bruins swinging this outside of my dream world, but wanted to see what the lineup could look like.

Trading DeBrusk defeats my purpose of making the Bruins amazing haha.
The Krug deal was purely cap dump to a team that might not have been on his list when he signed (which I'm not even sure Kings can take).

Need that secondary Scoring
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Newgod77</b></div><div>Ducks just signed Henrique so doubt they trade him. Ty Anderson might not be the source either. A lot of click bait stuff.
Silfverberg would be a good pick up for a prospect and pick though.</div></div>
I saw him post an article, so that might have just been his take on all the speculation that was brought to him, but that article was the first I'd seen of the thought.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mattyb929</b></div><div>I question your evaluation of Cehlarik. If he is NHL ready then why is he behind several players who have yet to make any NHL impact.</div></div>
There are much smarter people than me making the decision whether he plays or not, but from the limited sample size he fit our scheme well and has a decent scoring touch. I've seen and heard a few writers say that Cehlarik should probably be given a look. I think he carries value either way and would be a useful trade chip.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>The original asking price was 1st and mid level prospect. But now that the dust has settled teams that missed out may push that price up. Supposedly there were a couple of offers agreed upon but Skinner would not waive his NMC for. That could drive his price. Or he may just decline everything, play out his contract and have his options open. My guess is 1st and Heinen. Pens have a lot of interest in him. Canes have a lot of interest in Tristan Jarry. Would not be surprised if he ends up there if he does agree to a trade.</div></div>
Ah ok. Thanks for the info! Between him and Panarin, I think Skinner would be much easier to obtain purely based on the original asks I had seen.

Ok so Krug + Cehlarik for Klefbom. Would you say price for Skinner is still a prospect + 1st (Bjork and 1st) or do you think the price has jumped a lot where it's multiple mid->top level prospects and picks?

OEL would be the #2 for as long as Chara plays like how he has this year (which could just be the rest of this year and next). And it wasn't a final offer for OEL, more just a guideline of how I could envision Spooner being used in a trade if the Bruins did in fact move him to make room for Donato.

By offer sheeting Darnell Nurse, it requires a 2018 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (all BOS picks). By offer sheeting Jacob Trouba, it requires (2) 1st round picks (2018 and 2019) and a 2018 2nd and 3rd round pick (all BOS picks).
The compensation won't work because you cannot get both of those players.</div></div>
Ah fair enough. Appreciate the info!

NYR blockbuster?

Also, why is Torey Krug the #7 defenseman?</div></div>
First time doing one on mobile, accidentally dragged Gryz above krug. And as for overpaying, I’ve seen analysts say anywhere from just a prospect +1st for McD to the entire farm for some teams. I feel for the bruins, this deal helps now (and next year with McD) without mortgaging the future (JFK hurts I’ll admit)

Rolling Into Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BreKel</b></div><div>That Bailey contract gives me chest pain. He's not going to be worth close to 6M, never-mind 6.75. The guy hasn't done anything close to what he's doing this season. Even normal production from Bailey isn't worth that contract. Someone is going to overpay and I don't think it's Boston. I'm not a fan of moving Spooner in a deal to get Beleskey's contract out of here.
I offered a similar OEL deal, but I've soured on him as an acquisition. I'd much prefer McDonagh or someone different.
I don't mind your re-signings.</div></div>
I'll be 100% honest. I took a quick look at his stats, saw close to 60 points last year, and an increase this year and jumped on a top-6 contract for him. Now that I see his stats going back a few years, I mightily overpaid.

Would Saad fit in Bos?

I think in the long run, he's an upgrade over Spooner (who I think is only playing his butt off for a contract). I wasn't too sure on the value, as I haven't seen a mock for Saad to the Bruins yet. I was going to go without the pick, but then thought maybe that was way too little.

Turn it upside Down
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BreKel</b></div><div>Anders Bjork hasn't been the same since that injury and after he returns from IR, he would benefit from going back to the AHL and playing down there. Jack Johnson is not an upgrade over Krug, and I wouldn't even consider him an upgrade on Grzelcyk at this point. Meanwhile, Spooner is having himself a solid year and I'd rather hold onto him at this point. He's an RFA in the off-season so he's still under control. You can reassess him then and deal him and/or sign him. I don't care for Johnson and I feel Spooner + 2nd is too rich of an offer for him.
We learned last year that NHL defensive depth is needed in the playoffs so i hold off on dealing McQuaid for a late round pick. He's a movable piece in the offseason if needed, but you can't have enough depth. RHD is weak to begin with for Boston, and who is the next man up, should any one of McAvoy/Carlo/Miller go down; Postma? Woof.</div></div>
Those are good points. The hope with the trade is that Johnson would play his ass off to get one last big contract, and maybe the B's could benefit from that. As for Postma, I'd feel more comfortable with O'Gara coming up (in the situation here that I've traded Quaider) and filling in for a few games.

He was the 13th pick in the draft. only Hanafin, Werenski, Provorov were taken ahead of him for Dmen. He has not progressed as quick. He seems to be traded away by ACGMs more than any other player on the roster. Lastly i am not a huge fan of his either. That being said to call him a lesser prospect is a bit harsh.</div></div>
Lesser wasn't meant to say he's a C-rated prospect. I just meant that compared to Seny, he has lesser trade value just based on his progression thus far. I still see him as progressing into a top-4, potentially top pairing d-man, but would prefer to keep Seny at this time.

Hoffman
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Green4D4Again</b></div><div>I think it's fair but you have to consider that Ottawa has insane depth down the middle right now (C). Barring movement from players like Pageau, Smith and Brassard, Spooner is just not going to get ice-time / redundancy down the middle with the likes of White, Brown, Chlapik, Batherson ready to make the jump next year. Its players like Zenyshyn that Ottawa covets because they need a top 6 forward / winger in the future. Something like Zenyshyn, Fitzgerald and 1st would be the counter offer IMO.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BreKel</b></div><div>I offered the same thing, minus Fitzgerald, in a mock. I'd be for this. Hoffman is capable of playing his off-wing and would potentially be deadly in the top 6.</div></div>
Yeah and to the fact OTT doesn't want Centers, Spooner has excelled on the wing this year, and Fitzgerald is capable of playing wing as well, which would give OTT more flexibility with their new pieces, as well as their own prospects being brought into the fray.

O'Gara was signed for more than Gryz to begin with, so on the contract renewal I gave him a slight raise (50k I think). Gryz was signed at 600k I believe this year so I essentially gave him 150% of his current salary based on his play this season. That's the only reason O'Gara is still getting more.

Yeah I thought about the possibility of a De Haan type to either take the top 4 LHD, or take the 3rd pairing to really solidify that group. I ultimately decided the youth we have could already provide that piece.
I've liked Kuemper since his time with the Wild, and figured that our defense is turning into a pretty solid group, paying extra for a backup could help the team throughout the year. It would especially let Tuukka rest more (unless Kuemper sh*ts the bed), which would hopefully make him stronger when it comes to a playoff run.

Quick Mock
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TopCornerShot</b></div><div>Don't want Jagr back. Connauton isn't a legit top 6 defender. Heinen gets left out in this one in favor of DeBrusk, which I don't think is likely. Seeing how Nash is better defensively and was 49% FO last season and Czarnik was about 43%, I don't see how you have Czarnik getting the call at C.
The overall structure of the team is good, but there were some problems.</div></div>
I like Jagr, as long as he will play the role he should at his age/skill. He's no longer a full-time top 6, and is an extremely useful PP specialist. If he would be willing to play that role, then I think he could be more helpful than hurtful.
I think Heinen/DeBrusk will end up either on Krecji's left or Bergy's right depending on how camp goes. I brought DeBrusk up in this one as he's more of a pure scorer than Heinen, which is (I think) more helpful to Krecji. Heinen is the better overall prospect I feel, but ultimately I think DeBrusk serves better as Krecji's LW.
Czarnik I brought in at C purely as a quick switch from where Moore was. I think there will be some tinkering with who centers that line throughout the season, and I would be open to Nash centering it all year.

I agree with both of you, this isn't a trade I would want to happen by any means. This was just my take on a trade I saw in an earlier post, and how the B's could possibly cover their ass on the back-end if they went through with it. Zboril and the 1st would definitely be overkill in my opinion.

Next season w/Muzzin and Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JP23</b></div><div>I like this scenario; only a few small, very arguable changes imo. I like the balance of youth and veterans on all 4 lines, and Foote would be a pretty ideal draft choice.</div></div>
I had Hayes up just as an NHL body. I would probably trade him for a late round pick this year or next, or as you said just bury him in Prov for the year. I debated putting Chara and McAvoy together, but I feel McAvoy will play 1st pairing minutes, and am unsure how 40 yo Chara will handle that. I was going to put Krug with Carlo as their games are very different that they would be productive. Carlo would stay put and cover for Krug while he runs up.

I think all those pieces would be more than just our "stuff".
