<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>babouie</b></div><div>With Chytil done for the season .Rangers need center depth and scoring wingers Wheeler is horrible he can not keep up . Forth line is pure garbage . Goodrow has 5 points on the season . Defense is good . Goaltending is good . This trade gives them two 2 way wingers that can chip in goals and a center who is good at taking faceoffs and leaves the Rangers with 4 mil in cap space to add someone else at the deadline . If the Rangers do not get more depth and a center who can win faceoffs and chip in on offence they are out in the first round . Outside of Kaapo the right side is total crap . Vesey is a 3rd or 4th liner on a cup team . Wheeler should be in a retirement home . Pitlick is a 13th forward at best . You have to give to get especially at the trade deadline . How does buying out Goodrow a year from now or at the end of the season make the Rangers a cup team this year ?? Panarin is 33 Kreider is 32 how many more great years do they have left . ONE WAY OR ANOTHER THE RANGERS WILL PAY TO DUMP GOODROW . And it will cost them 1st rounders or top prospects to get the cap space and the players they need for a cup run . Lets wait and see what it costs . It is usually a 2nd rounder plus plus for one year of a bad contract Goodrow has 3 years left after this year { 5 points in 48 games } . Most important thing in the cap era is cap space if you want to contend , just ask the HAWKS, LIGHTNING, TORONTO OR EDMONTON .</div></div>

Listen it is super easy. Your not getting Gabe or Othmann or Kakko to take Goodrow. He be dealt with in the off-season. Most likely bought out.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swissmontana</b></div><div>the central is more fun when chicago is good. Or good enough. Still hope we crush you.

2nd seems realistic to prev cap dumps the past 3-4 seasons. Ryjo is a significantly more useful player than some previous ones, and probably could be flipped for more picks. I don't think Chicago is the only team willing to make this trade happen, i'm not worrying about it. I think a 3rd and a mid prospect would do fine too.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowhawk18</b></div><div>Who are they giving the contracts to? Foligno, Dickinson and Mrazek… guys who have been in their organization, system, guys they know first hand want to be there to mentor the young players. They comfortably gave overpayments to guys they know and trust, not outsiders.

You Avalanche fans are conveniently ignoring Davidson’s past trades:

Dickinson (2yrs x $2.65m) and a 2nd to the Hawks for Stillman (2yrs x $1.35m). This was at a time when the Hawks needed a veteran centre.

Zaitsev (1 1/4yrs x $4.5m) a 2nd and 4th round pick for FC

Bailey (1yr x $5m, which they bought out for $3.8m) and a 2nd round pick for FC.

So when Hawks fans say a 2nd round pick will need to be attached to Johansen, we are not just pulling it out of thin air, the precedence has been set by Chicago’s GM. If the price is too steep to pay then find another team, there will be plenty of other teams willing to pay the price to move their unwanted contracts.</div></div>

In this case, just my opinion, but I think the Hawks would do it for a 3rd or maybe even a 4th simply because they can retain on Rylo and flip him at next year's deadline for a 2nd or 3rd if he performs and doesn't get injured. Less risk here IMO than Dickinson, Zaits; statistically he is better than the prior names prior to the Hawks taking on their contracts.
