Colorado Fans here me out
The Avalanche don’t have a shortage of goal scoring, hence there is no need to acquire Hall. There would be no benefit to making this deal. Sakic is too smart. He has already made his deal last summer. Come the TDL, Colorado will acquire players which will add depth. If this is a liability on this team, it is in net.
PLEASE STOP THESE RIDICULOUS HALL TO THE AVS TRADES. IT IS NOT HAPPENING.

Hall
I’m generally shocked by the value people are willing to include in their ACGMs to get Hall. Truly shocked...

Trade for Hall

Big time over-pay and I agree w "Junkie" on the key upcoming payouts listed above. As well, those kinda deals are not in Sakic's play-book.
Hall had one good year and the others - meh! He's injury prone (should be even more-so in his 30s) and will be 29 years old at the start of the 7 year boat-anchor contract!

Trade for Hall
If it costs us Newhook I don't want to do it. I understand this is probably fair value but I am just not up for trading away futures yet and adding 11mil for 7 yrs under our cap while we have Landeskog and Makar to re-sign in just under a couple years and MacKinnon a couple years after that. The Avs are proving that they have created some great depth as of late with Landeskog and Rantanen injured. I'd rather the Avs get a solid 3C. One who is very strong sitting as a 3C but could play 2C well if need be.

Kirby Dach is a Gem
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>avsjunkie11</b></div><div>Calder belongs to Makar. Not taking anything away from Dach by any means. Makar has been the most dominant Rookie thus far and is not going to slow down any time soon.</div></div>
Agreed. Makar has been playing out of his mind, however, Dach has been playing at or above expectations for most of his time in the NHL. Also a great kid listen to his interview on Spittin Chiclets if you haven't. Kid has a great attitude and a love for the game rivaled by the vets on the team.

Agreed with this. Dach has been great, but Makar has been incredible.
I was in Denver for work and saw the Avs-Preds blowout. Makar was perfect in that game. Made no mistakes, walked the line like a guy who's been in the league for 10 years. He's going to be an impact NHLer for a very long time. Makar is the clear cut Calder favorite right now.

Everyone STFU About Taylor Hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>slapshot723</b></div><div>But the point is to just trade for him as a rental, don't worry about re-signing him. Giving up a 1st round pick and a prospect makes so much sense to go for it this season. I'm not saying he's your missing piece, but it wouldn't be risky to trade some pieces for a guy that can help you this season. I actually do think Kreider would be a great fit as well, and you'll have a better chance of re-signing him than Hall. But don't get caught up in re-signing him.</div></div>
That makes it even worse, give up top assets for 3 months when he really doesn’t add much in terms of strengthen and avs weakness.
Avs don’t need a hall to put them over the top, they already have 2 elite forwards and a budding superstar in makar.
Hall just isn’t worth it when what you will get out of him can be accomplished with a Kreider level forward
Sakic doesn’t trade away top assets for rentals, so if they load up it’s for a piece they are keeping. Like I said hall is a nice to have but I think he’s a bad fit on the avs with what role he will be put in on the second line. Adding hall doesn’t seem like sakics kind of move

Everyone STFU About Taylor Hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>exactly lmao. imagine how good avs would be with hall.
landy-mac-rantenen
hall-kadri-Donskoi
oh lord thats a nice top 6</div></div>
Hall is a nice to have but hes not a necessary piece the Avs desperately need, especially at his price tag to extend (10-11m) and if you trade for him all the young assets you have to give up. Even without Landeskog and Rantanen, Avs have the 4th best team offense in the league with 2 games in hand over the top in Nashville.
What more does Hall add? A couple more goals to be 11m 2nd line Winger? (he cant take Landys spot bc a defesensive minded winger who take draws has to be paired with Mack, thats what makes that line balanced)
Or could the Avs accomplish the same thing in their top 6 at half the cost in a guy like Kreider who brings other elements to his game than hall who really is just an offensive weapon. Mark Stone I would have backed up the brinks truck and unloaded for bc of his elite 2 way game and being a ppg player. Hall, doesnt do it as much bc when you already are one of the top scoring teams in the league already, without 2/3 of your top line, what more does Hall add after Mikko and Landy come back?

TDL trade with Mtl for the playoff run
<a href="/users/Bigphil" target="_blank">@Bigphil</a> the problem with this trade is you see price and grubauer and you say price is an upgrade... but how much of an upgrade? Does price win you 5-10 more games a year? Does price get hurt in the playoffs? What you really have to ask yourself is, is price worth 7+ mill more for seven years, the full potential of bowen byram, and the 2021 1st rd pick... and coming from a guy who still thinks price is the best goalie in the league, I dont feel that it's worth it

The Curious Case of Tyson Jost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>so you make an outrageous claim based on a convo you had in a leafs thread, with no actual no avs fans making this claim, just your word. For all yuo know this guy (if real) could have been mocking you about Stastny bc this was the time of leaf fans throwing out Bozak and a 2nd for Stastny trade 100 times a day.</div></div>
Dude give me some credit. I worked hard to try to find a conversation I had 8 years ago. I admit I couldn't find it but I was able to find second hand evidence I had had the conversation. Is it so hard for you to accept that someone could have had that opinion? It was obviously silly enough that I remember the conversation to this day.
Why are you being so aggressive. I was pleased I could find any evidence of the convo after all this time, even if I couldn't find the original convo itself.
But yes that's all the evidence I have... Lighten up

New Season Same Roster-Cup Defenders
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>avsjunkie11</b></div><div>Heinola, based on his stats, seems to be holding up pretty well. That's a good sign. A future Sam Girard for the Jets perhaps?
I don't think Bryam can go to AHL next season though, either NHL or back to Junior 1 more year. Or did you mean for the 2021-2022 season?</div></div>
No that’s my bad, I forgot he’ll either have to be in NHL or Junior. That being said he’ll probably go back to junior unless he really makes his mark. Heinola is holding his own but he should probably go back to Finland so he can develop his strength.

With a signing like Hall I think you lose someone like Landeskog or Grubauer. If I'm COL I don't sign any more superstars unless they are at a very good discount and just sign role players

The forecast looks sunny
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>franky_22</b></div><div>I will not spend again on Varlamov. I take the highest bid around the deadline and there is a good chance that he brings back a 1st rounder and +. Let Grubauer and Francouz do the work between the pipes. I wouldn't go for Hayes. Already a lot of C around. Take a good ticket for a star winger instead. Panarin or Stone or Skinner. I think Mikko will not accept anything down to 68-70 million on a maximum 8 years deal. And it would be a very great deal For Colorado. Otherwise he will prefer to trust himself on a bridge deal (a la Kucherov) and go for McDavid range money next time. Cannot wait for the next draft!!</div></div>
I think varly is a fantastic goalie, but is injury prone, I had hoped grubauer stole the show this year but hes been not great, and francouz is an unknown...
I think that mikko hits 7 mill maybe a bit more because sakic is kinda cheap and I dont think he'll wanna pay much more than MacKinnon is getting..
Panarin is going to the rangers he just has to wait until July 1st, stones a maybe but I dont want to pay him over 7 either, and skinner is a natural goal scorer but I think he resigns in buffalo
