Canucks Build Up For A 2023 Cup Run

Even if Hyman did sign with you, he has nothing to do with the Wild, we could care less about Hyman if all we had to give up is Hartman and 2 picks.</div></div> Minnesota is winning this trade but so is Vancouver because it lets them sign Zach Hyman. For the record, Vancouver Canucks would never agree to this trade unless they knew for sure that they were bringing in Zach Hyman. Obviously the trade itself benefits Minnesota, but it benefits Vancouver even more if they’re bringing in Hyman. Getting a key depth player and a first round pick on top of that.
I think both sides benefit from it. That is the nature of trades, they are suppose to be a win win situation for both sides.

It’s near equal value if not better value for the Canucks.

By the way we would love Boeser, especially for this travesty of a trade you proposed. If the Wild were to acquire Boeser for a third liner and some picks, Bill Guerin would win gm of the year and your gm would be fired on the spot. Its a good thing you’re not running an NHL team.</div></div>

The value is nearly equal if not higher for Vancouver. Part of being a GM is thinking outside the box like I did, not being close minded like you.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spanky_McButtCakes</b></div><div>Virtanen has negative value right now. Why would any team trade for him with an active investigation underway? What message does that send to female fans of the team acquiring him? He is a toxic asset right now.</div></div>
To be fair to Virtanen. Its nothing more than an allegation at this point of time, so u can’t say that about him just yet. We can only wait and see what happens with him and the accuser in court.
Nonetheless, I don’t see him as a Canuck in the future. Maybe he plays some games this upcoming season, but I think it’s inevitable at this point that he will not be part of the Stanley Cup buildup. Even if he can figure everything out in court.

Why keep a player that doesn’t want to play here. We already know that Boesor wants to play for Minnesota, and even if Canucks keep him and re-sign him in 2022. Boesor will one day play for Minnesota its only a matter of whether he signs as a UFA 4 years from now or whether he gets traded for high end draft picks and players.

The cold hard truth is if Minnesota doesn’t add a player like Boesor. Kaprizov will go back to Russia.

I totally disagree that Tamp doesn’t need Holtby. Vasilevsky alone is not going to get them through a full season, and in-fact Tampa is gonna go through a rebuild faze whether they want to or not, a team thats 9 million over the cap is a team that’s in a desperate hole, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tampa has to give up more than Sergachev, given how Canucks are retaining literary half of his one year salary, and are offering two draft picks on top of that!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brebil</b></div><div>I find all the free agent signings way too low, except Doogie H. Also don't understand why seattle took two players. Robertson playing up is a good idea but not ready full time 1st line plus there's no one to get the puck for any of them on that line.</div></div>
This will only work if players like Hyman, and Folingo can agree to a 1 year team friendly contract. That way you can sign more free agents and have a lineup that’ll actually contend for a cup If I were Hyman, that’d be a good sell to sign short term team friendly. Now you have the best lineup in hockey, and now you can roll 4 solid lines and have one of the best defensive core in hockey.

Leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sean4417</b></div><div>Leafs can structure the deal differently to benefit DH...</div></div>
It’s not about structuring it to benefit Hamilton, it’s about convincing Hamilton to play in Toronto, with all the options Hamilton will have, its hard to imagine him choosing Toronto, unless Toronto offered him Pietrangilo money. Also, the Leafs are in a tight cap situation, and in all likelihood signing Hamilton will mean the end of Morgan Reilly’s time in Toronto. He would no longer be needed and his contract is expiring next year. Toronto would trade him and sign more depth players with the extra cap space.

Leafs
Looks promising, but one thing I definitely would not do is get rid of Mikheyev. He is one of the fastest skaters in the league and did a tremendous job defensively. Maybe give away someone else. All in all this team would still be competitive but the only tricky part is getting Hamilton to sign.

Seattle is not going to have any $10 million dollar players signed next year. They’ll have tons of cap space. Seattle would be foolish to decline. Considering how the contract are only 1 year.

The Boesor trade looks good you basically get Jones and Hartman for Boesor, a player that would rather play jn Minnesota. Realistically, that Boesor trade would include more draft picks that Minnesota would have to give up. As for Jones. He is a rental. We could likely get him for even less if we waited until the deadline.

Reshapement of Roster 1 in the Atlantic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>What a joke, Why? Would Columbus even entertain retaining $1,000,000 each on Jones and Werenski while eating Marner's entire $11,000,000 or so. Even with Jones and Werenski at full value you're still saving $500,000 dealing Marner.</div></div>
Because Marner is younger. and has more upside than Jones and Werenski individually. Also because Seth Jones already intends to leave Colombus and its likely that Werenski will follow him wherever he goes.

Boston would be foolish not to if they’re not in contention. There’s no way they have any success in an Atlantic division postseason even if they manage to reach the playoffs. So why not trade Bergeron whos contract is expiring for some assets. Then potentially resign Bergeron in the offseason.

Seth Jones alone is not gonna even come close to cutting it for Marner. That’s why the deal would include Werenski and a first round pick potentially too.
