<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>anelson115</b></div><div>Agree with your last sentiment - it will take more added to Lundkvist to get one of Bourque, Johnston, or Stankoven than would need to be added to Dellandrea to get Lundkvist. No arguments there. But what I don't agree with is that all three of those prospects will be in the Dallas top 6 forward group. They are all right-shot centers and will have to slot in with Hintz (also a center) and Robertson. Even moving one of them to the wing, I don't think it makes sense to keep all three - maybe two of them stick around in the top 6. So which one is on the outside? Probably not a decision that will be made this year, but worth considering if you can use one to add a young right-shot defenseman with up-side.</div></div>
It’s true that we have too many centres and not many RHD, but it’s wrong to say that they aren’t going to be top 6 players and that it doesn’t make sense to keep all three because they have immense offensive potential and that’s one if the things the Stars have lacked in the past. 2 of them will have to go wing though.
I see their future top 6 being:
Robo-Hintz-Bourque
Marchment-Johnston-Stankoven
First one is Stankoven, he’s too short to be a centre (don’t know one single 5’8” centre in the history of the league) and he has the play style of a winger (sniper, something like DeBrincat.
After that you have Bourque, who is a natural centre, but Johnston and Hintz are too and they’re better. I see him moving to the wing because his play style matches Pavelski’s really well (look what he did with that duo). Pavelski also was mainly a centre, but could also play wing.

A 2nd/3rd to move Nemeth

People are overlooking that Rangers got a legit prospect back here. One with a long history with Miller.
It’s a savvy move

Colorado Avalanche signed Alexandar Georgiev (3 Years / $3,400,000 AAV)
For a goalie going into his prime who only needs to have a GAA under 3 I think its a decent contract. Personally, I would have liked this AAV better if it was a two year deal. Francouz I think will help him get his confidence back too, he doesn't have to (literally) fight anyone to get more playing time, if hes hot he plays. By the time this contract is up Justus Annunen will be ready for NHL time as well. Avs have an above average goaltending foundation for the foreseeable future if Georgiev can give them what he showed when he was able to put a string of starts together.

I think Roy would cost something like $3.5M AAV over 3 years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>anelson115</b></div><div>Without Rooney and Stepan (or similar FA center), how would you address our needs down the middle? I don't think we have internal options that will work.
As for Chytil, I'm not a fan of getting rid of him, but I don't think we can keep him and re-sign Copp. Now, an argument could be made to let Copp walk and take a chance on Chytil at 2C. However, if we do decide to move on from him, I don't see any teams willing to help us out in our cap situation via trade. While Chytil is worth more than what I've proposed, I'm not sure we could get more during the off-season (we'd have to somehow keep him and deal him closer to the deadline). What are your thoughts?</div></div>
Tbh I don't think they resign Copp (or Strome). What I would do is trade for the rights of Nic Roy from Vegas and roll with Mika, Roy/Chytil as 2C/3C with Rydahl/someone similar as 4C.

I wouldn't sign Stepan and Rooney. I think Rooney is better C option (or even Brodzinski) for 4th line and then put Reaves/Hunt back in the mix. Would love for them to some how (unlikely) sign Motte.

one of the better Rangers ACGMs I have seen. I agree that there is absolutely no chance we can sign copp or strome as the salary cap next year just wouldnt work.
I would however try and sign braun back as a 7th D to rotate in with schneider and Jones to help guide them a bit and I think Motte can probably be signed for closer to 2M

All of this really depends on Kakko not getting offer sheeted and actually being willing to resign, and the Game 6 scratch really puts that into doubt. Not to mention, there has been quite a bit of reported interest in Kakko. Assuming Kakko gets offer sheeted, probably a 4.2x1 so it only costs a 2nd, what happens then? Personally, I don’t think NYR would match that with the implications of the next off season. Would they look to trade Kakko before he gets offer sheeted to try and maximize their return? If they match on Kakko, I would expect at least 1 of Laf, Chytil, or Miller to get offer sheeted and leave the Rangers. But who knows. All I know is the next 2 off seasons should be very interesting.

(ANA/VGK) - Kesler, Moore for Dadonov and 2nd Round Pick [REVERSED]
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>anelson115</b></div><div>This comes from the CapFriendly FAQ section on the CBA, and applies to NMCs and NTCs:
- The clause can travel with the player even if he consents to being traded or is claimed on waivers
-- This requires that the acquiring team sign an addendum to the contract ensuring that the clause does in fact travel with the player (written by the player's agent)
-- If the acquiring team refuses to sign the addendum, and the player waives his clause anyway, at that point the clause may be nullified
- If the player is traded before the clause takes effect, the acquiring team can opt to void the clause
Seems to me that the issue is with the last bullet point - specifically, whether or not Dadonov's M-NTC was in effect prior to being traded to Vegas by Ottawa. If it was, there may also be an issue with the first bullet point - did Dadonov and Vegas sign an addendum stating that his M-NTC would carry over? I'm not an expert in this, so I might be wrong, but this is how I see it. Will be interesting to see how it plays out as this may set a precedence for the league going forward.
Hope this helps!</div></div>
That is helpful. Thanks.
Looking at Dadonov’s contract details, CapFriendly says the no-trade clause applied to all three years of the contract, so the clause was in effect when he was traded to Vegas. That rules out the last bullet point and takes us to the first point. The question is what happened, or what should have happened, when he became Vegas property. It sounds like Vegas would have had to sign the addendum for his no-trade clause to continue to apply. I don’t know if they signed it, but you’d think they’d know if they did, so let’s assume they didn’t. In that case, it’s not clear to me from this FAQ what would happen. It says, “if the acquiring team refuses to sign the addendum, and the player waives his clause anyway, at that point the clause may be nullified.” However, if Vegas wasn’t on Dadonov’s no-trade list, he could have been traded without waiving the clause – Ottawa did not need his consent to trade him to a team that wasn’t on the no-trade list. So if he didn’t waive the clause, does that mean it wouldn’t be nullified even if Vegas never signed the addendum?
I just noticed that CapFriendly is now showing Dadonov back on Vegas, so I guess the trade has been nullified. That must mean that Dadonov’s no-trade clause was still in effect, and Anaheim was on his no-trade list. I guess either Vegas forgot they signed the addendum, or they didn’t sign it, but the answer to the question in the last sentence of the paragraph above is yes, and Vegas didn’t know that the clause would still be in effect if he didn’t have to waive it to be traded from Ottawa to Vegas. (I’m giving them the benefit of a doubt and assuming this was an honest mistake, and not a deliberate attempt to try to trade a player to a team on his no-trade list.)
As my high school physics teacher used to say, now that you’re thoroughly confused, carry on.

Why toffoli costs alot
I'm all for having a high price that you won't budge on because there is no need to settle for lower for a player like TT but this valuation above not only is lacking some major comprehension of the Pacioretty deal, its also ignoring the fact things have changed since when that trade happened. Lindros was traded for like 14 players and cash but no one uses that as there basis because the times have changed since then. The same goes for the Pacioretty trade. You are also using hindsight to base your trade now. Can't quite use it like that.
So its fine for you to say "this is how much Im willing to let Toffoli go for" but its also fine for everyone to say this valuation is extremely unrealistic AT THIS CURRENT TIME. If Toffoli goes on a heater for the next 20 games, could it change? Absolutely.
...and yes, I read the entire description.

top 5 deadline players for nyr

Unless Shesty pulls some magic out of his ass and becomes Hasek or Roy, I’ve got a tough time seeing the value in this. The reliance on one of those rentals, Kreider, Trouba, Mika, Panarin, Strome and Goodrow is gonna be huge. Still a big issue is the middle 6 scoring. The young guys need to step up to make this worth it and not just play well, but actually put up some points consistently. Plus the chance of having Nemeth on the back end in the playoffs scares me. Not tryna hate, just being realistic here.</div></div>
You are being realistic; the problem is reality doesn't enter into the equation for 95% of the posts on this forum. If you asked every Ranger fan on this forum, and on Earth, BEFORE this season started, what do you want to see from this team this year.....95% of them would have said, develop the kids, make the playoffs and keep progressing and improving the team. Now, because they are off to a good start, it's throw the plan out the window and try to win the Cup now. It doesn't seem to matter that they have a slim, if any, realistic shot this year. It's just dumb. If they stay the course and keep building the right way, they will be a Cup contender for several years very soon. Hopefully, Drury does this.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>anelson115</b></div><div>Most of us took at least one hit like this as a kid. That's how you learn to keep your head up...
Based on the speed of the play, there was no way to avoid the hit. Trouba committed, planted his feet (i.e., no charging or leaving his feet), and lowered his shoulder square up to Khaira. It's unfortunate that the pass was in his feet, but there was no targeting of the head and Trouba did not raise his arms and bring his elbows up. I hope the guy is okay, but I don't think it warrants a suspension (or fine, for that matter) - it didn't even warrant a penalty.</div></div>
Agreed on all counts. I actually remember taking a shot high when I was 19 playing in college and my head was down. Now granted I wasn’t injured thank the heavens above, but the guy was in penalized on the play. I remember getting up and thinking, “why did he get a penalty?” I honestly thought it was my fault. He had me lined up and I never looked up nor did he through a hand or elbow in my face, it was all shoulder.

No one wants to see anybody get hurt, but open ice hits are still a necessary and valuable part of the game.</div></div>
If they suspend him, which I think they might, I’m gonna be really disappointed. Trouba had no intention to go to the head and his posture was perfect for shoulder to chest. Khaira never picked up his head, plain and simple. Many hawks fans will argue he should have avoided the hit then, but those fans never played hockey to know you can’t avoid a hit when you’re committed at that point. Don’t punish trouba for khaira doing what you’re taught not to do as a kid.

It's only been a couple months but I emphatically hate Drury already. Nobody can defend this offseason for the Rangers. It's a s*** fest. Goodrow and Nemeth take up more than $5M on the cap combined. We traded almost as much for Reaves as we got for Buch. I hope at the very least Jeff Gorton and John Davidson have gotten a good laugh out of the dysfunction. They're the only ones who can feel joy from this - I just feel pain.

Not sure if he is ready for Top 6 yet (especially when some expect him to immediately replicate the production of Buch), but he is still very promising.
