Next Year -transition and maybe playoffs
Very easy no for the Avs even though I'm not all that high on Mitts so far. They didn't trade Byram to get a 2C to then give him to MTL for parts they don't need.

Actually Leafs management is incompetent enough to not understand why that threat doesn’t work LOL.

Say whatever you want about Georgie but he wins a lot of games because the Avs have the horses to outscore average goaltending (which, tbh, they have not always gotten from Georgie this season). Lots of people said the Avs had no chance of winning a Cup with Kuemper and they're saying the same things about Georgie (again, not entirely unwarranted given his play at times). They were wrong about Kuemper and the Avs are betting they'll be wrong about Georgiev. Some people disagree with that strategy but it's the one the Avs use so, from the Avs perspective, this isn't the kind of move they'd make even if they did have the cap space especially considering the limited assets they have.

Avs are only saving about 1.5 mill. TVR had 103 blocks 22 hits. Manson had 109 blocks and 211 hits. The Avs don't really have another defender on the team like Manson. So as much as I think they would like to save money, they'd probably pass on that deal.

Caps say no to the Islanders and Ducks trades. Absolutely no reason to trade McMike for Zegras. Dude is overrated. Colorado and Tampa say no. No clue on the Toronto trade

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>CMC and Iorio are far from Spare parts. I personally dislike Zegras, but I could see the Capitals thinking about kicking the tires. There is no chance the Capitals give you Leonard for Zegras. If you want Leonard its Zegras +.
I can understand why you are high on him but there is no way you will be getting any teams best prospect besides like Toronto or Florida to get Zegras.</div></div>
Iorio and McMichael are nothing special compared to prospects the Ducks already have, they're middle pair/middle 6 upside, we've got tons of those laying around. If you want a shiny new 1C <strong><em>that we have no reason to move and is under contract</em></strong> then you need to cough up an impact piece.
And no, you would be adding to Leonard, not us adding to Zegras.

If you want Zegras, the offer starts with Leonard, you don't get high end talent for spare parts, and Zegras doesn't need to find a new home nor has he been demoted down the lineup. He played one game at 3C when he came back from injury to limit his ice time and then jumped straight back into the top 6.

Game 2 hero
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>JJ was entirely responsible for the 2nd goal, all he had to do was tie up his stick and he decided to instead play the body and his stick was no where near the passing lane. If JJ is getting muscled he doesn’t bring any value whatsoever because he is easily the worst skating d man. I mean I’m not going to die on the bench JJ hill, but I would just prefer Jones.</div></div>
JJ is super strong, especially in the corners. At home he shouldn't see Scheifele ever. If the Jets try to chip & smash, I trust JJ to handle those board battles better than Jones. Plus he's due for a breakaway dangle goal.

I won't profess to know who the Avs are going to move in the off season for certain but that's a pretty fair offer for Manson value-wise. Just don't see him being moved as the only physical D the Avs have.

Cup Run Again
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady_t12</b></div><div>Suggesting this offer doesn't have enough quality is wrong. McMichael is a young second line center coming off his ELC, Cristall is a recent 2nd round pick that just tore up the WHL. On top of that, you're getting TWO first round picks that are premium assets in this league, especially considering the caps just squeaked into the playoffs so that 2025 first could easily be a lottery pick and the 2024 is 17th overall I believe. Kuemper is almost a cap dump at this point, but the combination of miscellaneous draft picks easily cover that cost. Just because you don't know about the pieces coming back doesn't mean they aren't quality. Just because there's a high quantity of pieces doesn't mean there's not quality in that package. If you're gonna respond to a post, at least think about it first.</div></div>
Good attempt at selling but the Avs ain't buying. Not even close to the reality of what it would take to get Rantanen.

Why would the Avs even consider trading Colton who plays a position of need for Smith who isn't and get older and add more cap when they're already up against it? Answer - they wouldn't.

I think CMac prefers to start Malinski over committing big money to Walker, especially to be flexible for a possible Landy return. They can always rent to plug holes until more clarity is achieved. Or maybe Behrens becomes a starter by the playoffs. He has quite the resumé as a recent, two time Natl Champion!</div></div>
Completely agree. Walker will not be resigned. Malinski should be on the opening night roster next year imo and Behrens too if possible

Offseason 1 2024
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>Oh I was talking about Georgiev not Jarry sorry for the confusion. And this is all applicable to Georgiev not Jarry, Breaking sticks, accidentally hitting teammates with his stick, literally letting in a the odd super soft goal. All that and he has been horrendous his last 5 outings, yeah the pk has been bad too, but he gave up 22 goals in his last 5 outings and just looked awful. He really hasn’t been good all year and the team did him no favors running Prosvetov as the back up for half the season over playing him particularly in November December and the first part of January playing him 30 times in that stretch. His QS% and GSAA stats I like to look at are career lows the GSAA is an atrocious -12.1. Good talk my friend!</div></div>
Oh haha - that would make more sense. I should've known when you were talking about seeing the games in person. That's my bad.
Wow, I didn't know that about Georgiev. I mean obviously I know he's struggled, but not al the details. I appreciate the info. That's definitely unfortunate to hear, but at least your team in front of him is amazing enough to carry him to the postseason. Good luck in the playoffs - and yeah good chat!

Offseason 1 2024
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>I mean honestly the answer is going to go one of three ways. 1) Georgiev rights the ship and takes them on a deep run then it’s all moot. All he really has to do is be .900 as COL is the highest scoring team and 5v5 team this year. 2) Georgiev stumbles, Annunen comes in does what he has done so far in the regular season and takes them on a deep run and the solution long term has been solved. 3) they both struggle and the Avs are out in the first or second round and they are looking for a new starter and then anybody including Jarry is an option. Honestly I’ve seen a fair share of games (perk of work the seats are exceptional) in person and he has just look beat after he gives up a goal, and his antics down the stretch are not well received by the team as a whole.</div></div>
I saw, specifically in March, some times where he looked defeated or frustrated after a goal if thats what you're referring to. But the Pens were basically the worst defensive team in the league that month - so personally I'll give him the pass on that. Also there was a stretch where a ton of the goals hit off their own players, or defenders were running into Jarry - I think part of it was just shock.
Not sure what you mean by his antics and not being well received though?
I'm not saying Jarry is some elite goalie by the way. I've always had him in that 10-12 range give or take. Whether he's worth the upgrade to a team based on cap hit and what assets you have to give up - that's the million dollar question. I totally understand if people say they'd rather just give a 2mil goalie a shot and see how it goes. Especially for a good team like COL
