Your thought process is broken. Don’t ever try to be a GM

Playoffs?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jp_harvey</b></div><div>Faulk = one of the best two way d-men in the NHL??? WHAT?!?! Hahahaha okay I must admit, that was a nice joke! This guy is a PP specialist, just like Mike Green, but not as good as M.G. He's horrible in his own zone. He's been on the trading block for more than 2 years now. There's no real interest in him, especially for the kind of value that you're referring to!
Skinner scored 30 goals 3 times in 7 seasons and only once in the last 4 seasons. I wouldn't way he's a consistent "30 goals scorer", but more that he's capable of scoring 30 goals giving the right circumstances. He's also a 50-55pts a year guy, which is valuable, YES, but not for a massive return.
Anyhow, I still think ARI needs to pay more to obtain Skinner + Faulk. No picks coming from CAR and add a '19 2nd round pick going to CAR.
I, too, think they'll compete for a playoff spot this season but will fall just short by 3-4 points.</div></div>
What’s funny about your statement is that he has better advanced defensive stats than Doughty, Vlasic, Burns, Karlsson. On top of that, he’s a great PP catalyst. If you watch hockey, and think he’s a bad player? You’re drunk. Skinner in 82 games, averages 28 goals, boss. They’re shopping these guys because the return is going to be high. Faulk is a great defenseman but they can get a great center and keep their d core and be even better. Please, look into things. Really disturbing how ignorant this whole thing is.

Not enough in the Carolina trade to pull one of the better 2 way defenseman and a 30 goal scorer.

Tampa Deal UPDATED
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sabresfuturecupwinners</b></div><div>They will lose him for nothing at the end of the year.... They don't need him to be successful. Teams aren't stupid they know Tampa wants one of arguably the top 3 defenceman in the NHL! This assures they can do that. It's more plausible than you think... I don't think it will happen however because our GM doesn't have the moxie for it. He seems to think our LW depth as it is will be an improvement. I disagree.</div></div>
Dude... did you not read anything I said on your last poorly thought upon post? Even with signing Karlsson to an 11 million deal... the players they will be trading will leave them with 11.15m. That’s not even accounting for how much the cap will rise. That’s AFTER the Karlsson contract too.

Dude what?
Killorn - 4.45
Callahan - 5.8
Coburn - 3.7
Girardi - 3
Karlsson is on a 6.5, and verbally agreed to an 8y 11m deal. The rest of Callahan’s contract is going to cover that. Salary cap is going up. They would have 11.15 to sign Gourde? that’s just off of these contracts being lost. That’s not even accounting for the cap hit they already have and how much the cap will be going up. Please look things up before you post

Tampa Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jasalex</b></div><div>WHY would Tampa do this? Stralman has one year left at 4.5 million and still is a top four right hand defenseman. Gourde just scored 25 goals, a center and has a year left at 1 million. How about we give you Gourde, Callahan (hometown captain material), Colburn aging defensemen but useful as a third pairing (especially for a team at the bottom), one year left on his contract. In return you give us that sixth round pick. That would be a real salary dump.</div></div>
Tampa would be stupid to trade Gourde when they have a prospect pool everyone drools over.

No. They could get more for Stralman considering he’s a great shut down defenseman. They’re trading Callahan, Tyler Johnson, and KIllorn. The deal is
Sens - Sergachev, Zajac, Speers, picks.
Bolts - Karlsson
Devils - Johnson
Rangers - Callahan, KIllorn, picks.
