<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheRealisticGuy</b></div><div>Nick Jensen will be looking for terms and money
You gave him neither</div></div>
He’ll be a 33 year old defenseman. His time for term and $ is gone, especially during this flat cap. In this scenario, he’ll be wanting to play close to friends and family. Also, I did specify that the UFA contracts were debatable.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Digitalbooya06</b></div><div>So why did you sign Nick Jensen at $2.5M to be a bottom pair guy? Why are you paying Merrill $1.2M to be the pressbox guy? You could literally trade Goligoski for a 5th, Merrill for a 3rd, call up O’Rourke or Hunt and sign a 7D for $750k and save ~ $1.6M while actually allowing our prospects a chance to make the team instead. What’s the point of having all these LD prospects if they are never given a chance to make the team? You also overpaid Duhaime by at least $125k. Shaw overpaid by probably $200k. We could probably get Holl for $1-1.5M in free agency, maybe Luke Schenn for under $2M. That’s another $500k-1.5M saved by just being smarter with our money.</div></div>
Nick Jensen would be a top 4 guy unless Faber tore it up (just dropped to the bottom pair when added and didn’t move him up), then you would let Goligoski or Merrill go. Find a better D for less than Merrill or Goligoski, by all means plug them in. You sign Jensen at $2.5M because it would cost you $3M to sign Addison and don’t get extra scoring. I don’t think O’Rourke or Hunt are going to be one of your top 6 defensemen and you’re not letting them sit in the press box. Cap hits for guys making less than $2.5M are certainly debatable

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Digitalbooya06</b></div><div>I’ll take my chances that Greenway rebounds. Get extra cap by trading Goligoski to a team that would actually play him regularly</div></div>
I’m so glad MIN got that 1st for Dumba he was priced at for years instead of waiting so long that he wasn’t worth anything and ended up turning pucks over nightly into free agency… Oh wait! Goligoski = $2M and Greenway = $3M. Every $1M really matters for this team. If Faber plays well at the beginning of the year or you can find a cheaper 6th/7th D, Goligoski could be moved

He’s essentially a cap dump at this point for MIN to fit in a top 6 forward. MIN can’t wish in one hand as they crap in the other like they did with Dumba until it was a day late and $6M short

Would you rather have his power play assists or Boeser score goals? If Addison wants $3M in an extension (like in this example), better to move him for a top 6 forward and gain the value you have now with more D prospects in the pipeline

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BUFF36</b></div><div>Why does Vancouver even need to be involved</div></div>
Because Addison is being used to obtain Boeser as the whole premise of these moves. If VAN wouldn’t want Olofsson instead of Addison (which they shouldn’t), your trade falls through and the Boeser trade doesn’t work. No sense in sending Foligno to BUF then

They are only retaining $1,662,500 for two years. This is about as much as VAN is currently overpaying Boeser. Van will need to retain at least 25% with most teams during this flat cap

You could sign Gaudreau for the same or less than Hartman and gives you the same production (maybe more?). Trading Dumba means nothing if you don’t find another RHD for this year. I’d love to get rid of Dumba, but he’s here the rest of the season and MIN gets nothing for him

If MIN can hold on to a playoff spot, this would probably give them the best chance to win with rentals. Giving up a 1st (2 if they win the Cup) would be worth it for one year. Still have Addison (And top prospects) that you could recoup assents for in the off-season if you’d rather have picks in this year’s draft.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyIsMyPassion61</b></div><div>There will be tons of team interested in Matt Dumba, Pretty sure he'll get at least 5 years $25 million.
That might get you Kane, But no way does that get you both Kane and Toews together.</div></div>
1st, prospect, and roster player for Kane and 3rd for Toews. 3rd has potential to be as high as a first.
Both players have a NTC, so the return won’t be much higher than that depending on how many teams they would agree to be traded to. Slim chance they both want to go to MIN, but doubt there’s many other teams on their list if they did.

Hawks don't need any more LD prospects so replace Peart with maybe Rieger Lorenz. A 2023 second would be nice too.</div></div>
Pick conditions are similar to what Billy and Davidson did with Fleury last year.
Peart prospect could be tweaked based off of what CHI needs in their system, but thinking it would be similar to him.
Billy already giving up a 1, 3 (+), prospect, and player with term, he won’t be adding a 2nd too.

Don’t need to retain anything if they trade Dumba, but less retention = less going back to CHI. Don’t think a second would be added with their NTC. The return should be fair depending on the list of teams they would like to be traded to, especially if they would like to be traded to the same team to stay together and make the transition easier.

The 3rd round pick would be conditional depending on the Wild’s playoff success. 2nd for conference championship and 1st for cup.
