I don't think LA is rebuilding. I think they will give up picks to shed salary as it's been rumored Panarin wants to go to LA or NY.
Fyi none of these moves are what I'd want. It's a guess at what Fletcher and Vigneault will aim to do based on their histories. Vig likes veteran presences and puck moving D. Phaneuf probably won't happen bc of his nmc but I could see Homer pushing for some nonsense like this

June 15 - Trade w/ BUF, DAL
Don't know why you have Spezza in all your proposals lately. His 5v5 wasn't much better than Filpula and his pk analytics are dreadful. He doesn't serve much purpose as bottom 6 guy. Taking on his salary with Neuvy should fetch more than a 3rd

June 4 - Trading with CHI
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangles</b></div><div>How many seasons has Riley Nash been decent? The answer is 1. Anisimov is a much more consistent contributor. We have plenty of cap space so his cap hit is meaningless.</div></div>
I'm not saying I'd want Nash, just merely pointing out that his analytics were comparable to Anisimov at a lower price tag. I actually think Nash will get overpaid due to the lack of centers, which doesn't interest me.
Also, I wasn't saying this is a bad trade...I actually really like your thinking on this one. I'm just not sure Laughton/Morin or the draft picks need to be added in...probably one or the other, or maybe Morin and the 4th?
Anything over Filpula would make this team better. But Anisimov should greatly improve the PK

June 4 - Trading with CHI
I think the flyers are over paying - by a lot. Here's my reasoning:
- Anisimov has 3yrs x 4.5m left, 46% f/o%, average Corsi 5v5 but 52% ozone starts, with pretty good pk numbers. Riley Nash has similar corsi, more dzone starts, and a better pk f/o % - and he'll cost around 2.2m - 3m x 3yrs in free agency.
- Moving up 6 spots and back 8 spots with the pick swaps - So slightly in Chicago's favor
- And giving up Morin, Laughton, a 2nd and a 4th
I suppose if they really like Bouchard or if someone like Wahlstrom falls, it could be worth moving up, but it should take a bit less to give the Hawks some much needed cap relief.

Rinne is fine but they would probably want more.
Why do we need Pitlick?</div></div>
Ok, on Ceci, so we'll add MacD instead of Gudas and drop Ceci from the trade. You're not getting to 4 without Ryan, whether that costs us Simmonds or not, but I think the value to move up that high is in line.
Throw in a 2nd or 3rd Rd pick for Rinne, whatever the cost.
We could grab a pk fa this off-season but Pitlicks 5v5 and pk analytics are really good. In this scenario Haag became expendable. Ceci and Pitlick sound way better than Gudas, Haag, and Weal... Just my opinion

Not a fan of taking on Ryan to move up to 4?... That's the only possibility.
Too unrealistic...I agree. Rinne would probably cost a bit more and Ceci would probably be off the table. Ghost and Jake will probably be traded in the next two years and we don't really have a shot at Carlsson.
I know you're all about Bouchard but they aren't drafting a defenseman and playing him for more than 40 games in the next 2 years...

Matt Kane did a 2018 fa projection, which was pretty close already for the Kane deal. He has Saros getting 2.5 and Hartman at 1.7. I wouldn't be surprised to see Fiala getting a long term 4-5m deal. Teams are trying to do those long term bridge deals after the elc

They aren't in a great spot cap wise. About 6m under, but 4-5m of that needs to go to Hartman + Saros. Then Fiala + Ellis are up next year. Ellis is going to get paid, so that may negate most of Pekka's contract, but they'll still be pretty tight in '19.

Ever since you posted this, I've been trying to figure out how we could swing Rinne, Fiala and/or PK. Gets dicey in the next couple years. But I can't seem to make it work without someone taking on MacD.

I don't think we'd have to give both 1sts (maybe the other picks too) since we'd be taking on Ryan's contract. If it was for Zadina, I could see this price.

I did one for 2020 in this scenario. Came in around $81m (give or take depending on the contracts), so it's doable.
Yeah I agree on Darling, it's not ideal. But if that was the only way you could get Skinner or Teraveinen would you do it? The obvious scenario would be to just keep Lindblom on LW2 and give NAK or AHL guy a shot until Ratcliffe/Strome can make the jump. But in this scenario would you aim for Domi or another trade target to avoid the Darling contract?

That's an insane price for Fischer. Simmonds should bring in a 1st Rd +, so basically we'd be giving three 1sts + Hagg. Might as well just draft bpa and give NAK a chance

FML if Filppula is still on this roster next year, let alone on the 2nd line.
Also like Dangle said, in Hexy's end of year press conference, Hexy said they were not re-signing any ufa but would consider Filppula depending on how the off-season played out

JT still gets a raise here, but joins a team with Giroux who he has said in the past would love to play with. Also allows him to stay close to the home he has had his whole career and joins a young and upcoming team. How much will be the top offer he gets, 10.5, 11? So in the grand scheme he gives himself a chance to win a cup, just like Parise and Suter did in Minnesota when they both said no to higher offers.</div></div>
Tavares will get a minimum of 11m and probably even more. Vegas has the cap room and is a contender. And he'll probably get ridiculous offers from Montreal and other non contenders for 12m+. Remember McDavid signed for 12.5m and that wasn't even the original offer...he took less bc he didn't want to cap strap the Oilers

Because he's in the AHL now, I don't believe he would be on the waivers if he started the year in the AHL. I could be wrong, but I think he would only enter waivers if he was brought up and was sent back down. If I am wrong, obviously Hexy would be looking to trade him/Gudas/Haag etc

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>Nah man don't follow hockey, just know more than you clearly. Have you ever heard what goes into negotiations for free agency, the flyers will absolutely use the reasons I listed to pay less. Sanheim our 4th best dman?? That's not saying much with our defense since after ghost and provy who else is there, he possibly could be on our team, but not on any other teams. And he was scratched in the playoffs, apparently others with more hockey experience than this whole site agrees with me, if he was in fact one of our best dman he would've played every game since we needed major help.
I didn't know 47 points in one full NHL season warranted a 5.5 million dollar contract, please site examples of this? Ghost got a 4.5 million contract after breaking several rookie records and had a double digit games point streak, and he got a million less than a guy who has one nhl year and scored 47 points?? OK brother, please stop. Provy is our best dman, but right now he's one of the best in the entire league?!?! I can easily name 20 other dman at this point right now who are better. Yes he's only 21 years old, yes for a 21 year old he is pretty amazing, but in no way shape or form is he going to get a 7.5 million dollar contract, more money than some of the best dmen in the league.
You are beyond delusional if you think anything of what you said, minus your Laughton point, is anywhere near rational. Not saying that signing 3 free agents and making 3 trades is rational, but its possible. What you're spewing is nonsense.</div></div>
Don't take things too personal...these are supposed to be for fun.
Sanheim is actually our 3rd best D-Man $for$. His analytics were actually higher than Ghost/Provy(Smaller sample size obviously) but he was playing against weaker pairings and didn't get stuck with nearly as many D-zone starts that Provy did. He was scratched bc Hak felt Manning had more experience and liked him paired with Gudas better. That decision was a major reason why we fared so poorly against the Pens...as the Manning/Gudas were the worst tandem in the playoffs. We needed more speed and better outlet passes and instead Hak went with more "grit".
You're underselling Konecny. 4.5m is certainly a reasonable number to lock him up long term if he surpasses his numbers again (Tyler Johnson got 5m - 7yrs with similar numbers).
Yes, Provy is one of the best D-men in the league for his age. He plays in every scenario, has the lowest O-zone starts, highest D-zone starts, plays against the leagues top talent, and put up great numbers. He will be considered a Karlsson, Doughty etc in a couple years.

While I would have agreed with you a couple of months ago, he got injured again in the AHL playoffs. Maybe he gets healthy by September, but Myers has surpassed him and I believe will out perform Morin in camp. Bc of his injury riddled season, I have a feeling he'll get an 2 yr extension this summer, but start the season in the AHL.
