In Montreal we don't have to be in anyone's inner circle to know. We have the traditional English media through Bell &amp; Sportsnet, we have the traditional French media through RDS and TVA. We have podcasts from dozens of very well connected insiders stemming from former players like Chris Nilan to reporters traveling with the team like Arpon Basu to scouts and personalities. If there was anything to this rumour it would have been mentioned somewhere by somebody in one of these streams. But if course it wasn't which is why I keep saying there is nothing there.

The other thing is that the Habs already have 4 overpaid middle 6 wingers on multi-year deals:

Gallagher 6.5
Anderson 5.5
Hoffman 4.5
Armia 3.4

Don't mistake me, Boeser is an upgrade on all of these guys, but we Both cannot afford to take him on and have no spot for him unless we trade one of these guys in another deal or Vancouver takes one of them back.

If you really want the Habs to take on Boeser, you have to take back Gallagher, Hoffman, or Armia. We would still pay you for Boeser in that case.

Like Gallagher and a 2024 top 10 protected 1st for Boeser. That way you get a 1st for him, but you take bad cap back. But I'm 100% sure no one wants Gallagher or Armia's contracts and that's why we don't want or need Boeser. It's just logic.
