Pettey to the Jets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ThundyBlundy</b></div><div>Such a lopsided trade... Winnipeg says no unless Vancouver adds Demko and Hughes at retained salary!</div></div>
I guess Franchise 1C's grow on trees! Idk about you but I'm getting tired of the Jets dealing a 1st round pick every year to get a rental 2C. They'll probably do the same next season since there will be a hole once Monahan's gone. (unless we plan on signing him passed this year... idk about that with his injury history). This would solve that issue and we have some talented wingers coming up the pipeline to replace Perfetti (Lambert, McGroarty, Barlow, heck Iafallo is still signed till the end of next season). Perfetti's been relagated to the 4th line recently. Dillion is on an expriring deal. Samberg moves into Dillions spot and then you play Schmidt, Stanley or bring up Heinola on the left 3rd pairing. Juulsen slots in on the right 3rd D pairing for this year and next year. Buyout Shmidt this summer to make the money work for Pettey's extension. I was expecting Nuck's fans would say this isn't enough lol!

Tanev Balances Jets D core

For the Jets... Calgary will get more for Tanev. He's going to fetch way more than a 2nd rd pick and a 7th D. - Jets fan

WPG-LAK-PHI Lots of moving pieces
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CH70</b></div><div>I don’t know that I would say the Flyers give up the least. The original thought was Walker to the Jets for Lambert and Montreal’s 2nd this year, which I thought was reasonable. Winnipeg has 23/23 roster slots taken up and would need to move someone off the roster to make any deal work.
The Kings are looking for depth upgrades and Arvidsson is a UFA at the season’s and coming off of back surgery that he only just had 3-4 months ago. Yes, definitely is a productive player, but, IMO, is a HUGE question mark the rest of the way.
The Jets, in theory, could move Iafallo and not be losing much in terms of offense, as he is mainly relegated to 3rd/4th line usage. The Kings don’t exactly have much in terms of cap space either.
The Flyers then facilitate moving Iafallo back to the Kings by retaining 50% of his contract, and giving up a VERY valuable retention slot (2nd of 3) and taking back the the Arvidsson contract, that expires at the end of the year. The Flyers weaponizing their cap space (they could still put Ryan Ellis on LTIR to clear more if needed) and the use of a retention slot, would be ultimately be receiving Turcotte, a player that needs a change of scenery to have a better chance, and a 1st round pick.
Is the 1st being a smidge too greedy? That’s debatable. It is justifiable. Would I be willing to take a 2nd back instead? Sure, but the Kings don’t have a 2nd until next year. I would then want the 2nd to have a condition of moving to a lottery protected 1st in 2025 based on Kings success (making it to WCF or SCF).</div></div>
This trade only makes sense for the Flyers. It's an easy no from the Jets and Kings. Jets wouldn't even give up this much for Chris Tanev out of Calgary.

TANEV BROS UNITE IN PEG CITY
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigOlJetAirliner</b></div><div>Winnipeg's poor offense & powerplay units will likely end up killing any long run this year...don't think improving our #1 overall defense will change that. Chevy would do better to add a cheaper 3rd pairing RHD option at the deadline if he wants to add depth. At least, that's my thoughts.</div></div>
While agree with your first point, we need to figure out our offense and PP for deep run. I think coaching is a bigger issue for the PP and Bones 5v5 system is very D first. Dallas ran into the same offensive struggles under Bones while he was there. I'm not sure if adding a Gostisbehere type player to QB the PP1 will improve the team overall. Definitely would help the PP though. It'll be interesting to see what Chevy does with the team from here, we need to go for it.

TANEV BROS UNITE IN PEG CITY
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jets12Kozy</b></div><div>Yeah 100% and I think Tanev would be enough to solidify our defense for playoffs but I wouldn't be willing to give up more than mtl's 2nd and Stanley for him</div></div>
Jets are in win now mode and we shouldn't waste Helle's Vezina caliber season. Our defense is already solid and adding a guy like Tanev would only make us better. Our offense will come, we're just slumping right now. If I'm Chevy, I'm doing whatever I can to make this deal happen as long as it doesn't involve any A level prospects (Lambert, McGroaty, Barlow, Salo) or picks for future years.

TANEV BROS UNITE IN PEG CITY
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jets12Kozy</b></div><div>That is way too much for Winnipeg to be paying</div></div>
That's how the deadline works! C. Tanev isn't going to cheap as plenty of team's are going to be bidding on him. I think if the jets are going to make a deep run this year I'd rather have the Tanev bros (both energy guys that can play shutdown rolls on the 3rd line and top 4 D) over Iafallo on the 4th line and Kupari a healthy scratch. Lucius is a good prospect that's had some tough luck with injuries recently. He has the skill to develop into an NHL 2C but I don't think he'll get there. The 2nd is for taking on Iafallo's contract next year and since we already traded our 1st this year for Monahan we might as well go all in. Brendon Dillion cost us two second rounders when we acquired him, so I really don't see this as a crazy overpayment for two guys that can potentially make a huge impact on a cup run. I know this trade won't happen but man would I love to see it. GO JETS GO!

TANEV BROS UNITE IN PEG CITY
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>Calgary doesn't want Iafallo but they'd probably give you Tanev for Lucius alone. A right shot center who isn't small is Calgary's biggest need.</div></div>
I agree that Calgary probably doesn't need Iafallo, which is why they're getting a low 2nd round pick (MTL's this year) and a decent prospect in Lucius. I don't think Calgary want's to go into a complete rebuild, so Iafallo is a nice piece to have if their deciding to retool this summer or move him at the deadline next season.

B. Tanev's playing on your 4th line making $3.5M? You're getting $2.5M off the cap next year by trading his contract and you're getting a 23 year old center that can play on your 4th line plus a 5th rd pick for holding onto some salary this year. I'd say that's not bad.

Helle sign and trade and switch the 4th rounder for the Avs 5th. Devils go all in and have around 3mil in cap space to add at the deadline this year. It would be crazy trade that's for sure.
