He will! To the Leafs Calgary wins if they trade Monahan as well it becomes a facelift for the team that needs to change and the Leafs get a Tom Wilson Type guy with Skill on an expiration deal which could make Cap Space for the Leafs down the road if they choose not to Resign Chucky Win/Win

Kinda for the Leafs as well? Tkachuk only has 1 more year on his deal if the Leafs don't want to Resign him great it frees up 7 Mil in Cap space alongside other expiring contracts and puts the Leafs on a good rebuild path

If Nylander goes the Other way you get two parts of the London Knights line with Marner and Tkachuk? But that doesn't clear 4 mil in Cap meaning Rielly would then need to be traded as well for Picks and Prospects and hope that some LHD comes along at a cheaper deal or we resign Dermott for the Left Side but he gets the 2nd pair with Holl. Either way I kinda would like a **** like him in Toronto. We don't have players that can throw the opponents off their game and tick them off. Tkachuk would be perfect plus his Brother is on Ottawa so the Battle of Ontario becomes hella interesting at that point

Letter_Kenny suggested Rielly to NYR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>AZ can do better IMO.</div></div>
I'm interested to hear how so? SDA is actually a great talent and the Leafs look like they have great Center talent down the pipeline as of now. Liljgrenn would get the playing time in Arizona definitely because I don't think Hjalmarsson, OEL, and Demers will be on this team next season anyway? The 1st Rounder is something they are looking for especially if that franchise is rebuilding for what seems like the Millionth time in 5 years but they can always flip that 1st and another pick for a 1st rounder this year? Also I don't think alot of people realize that there are going to be alot of Undrafted FA's coming out of the OHL, WHL, QWJHL and other leagues so alongside everyone else the Leafs will restock their prospect pool in that form so again as much as I hate trading away the 1st because it never works out for the Leafs but getting a good top 6 player in Dvorak who has a previous history playing with Marner it could work?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhroblak</b></div><div>damn, I really overestimated Rielly’s trade value huh</div></div>
It's more about the Rangers eating Rielly's cap which is why the return is so low but last season I believe Adams stated that Georgiev was at least worth a 1st rounder for his services could be wrong but the Leafs need a 1A/1B tandem with Campbell and I believe Georgiev could be that guy if promised the Games? So essentially it's the Leafs trading Rielly and a Bottom 6 Fringe Player for a 1st and 2nd Rounder?

Anything else other than a first the Rangers would give away? Could Georgiev become an option to come over considering the Leafs were interested in him a year ago? Georgiev and a 1st for Rielly? Leafs then keep Muzzin and Sandin on the Left Brodie and Holl on the right. Bogosian resigns and Leafs maybe take a shot at Jake Mccabe to replace Rielly? Lower cost, analytical darling that Dubas loves to sign? Could be a 2nd Pair LHD with Holl? Then the Leafs resign Hutton as a 7th D if Liljegren is gone? Or maybe Del Zotto? I know that he is good friends with Tavares?

Leafs gain a Mid round pick and Cap and they have Topi Niemela who I heard was really good and Duszak is coming along as well? So maybe Liljgrenn might go in that case?!

And all those UFAs take sweetheart deals for TOR?</div></div>
Brandon Saad is signed to a 6×5 which is essentially what we want to sign Hyman to but it probably won't happen but it is most definitely not a sweetheart deal?
Dougie Hamilton in this scenario is signed to a 7×7 that's not a sweetheart deal because that is what he is currently valued?
The Konecny trade was just a bleep because again this is a mock up and This is what I'd hope the Leafs would look like next season. I am aware of the values of the players at hand and I know Konecny is worth alot more

Why does Luke Fox do this to me
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letter_Kenny</b></div><div>I understand that the Leafs could really use Hamilton's bomb from the point. But at some point the Leafs need to stop star hunting and focus on depth. Look at the Isles. 4 quality lines and 3 D pairs who can come right at you. 2 good goalies. Plus they're even missing their captain and arguably best player.
Dubas is married to his core 4 and that 11 mil Marner contract is a killer. 0 goals in 18 playoff games. Nuff said.</div></div>
Correct but like you said Dubas is married to the Core 4 and will probably end up giving them one last chance and it will fail. Personally I don't mind trading Rielly for what I placed above. I liked Trevor Moore when he was a Leaf and I found he was like another Connor Brown only Smaller. Brandon Lemieux adds a grit game to the bottom 6 and he can always get better with time. I'm personally all for getting David Savard from TB. Great Stay at Home D Man who realistically is in his Prime at 30 and could be alot cheaper than Hamilton and just as effective to the defensive game. Could save the Leafs 2 Mil in the longrun depending if they gave Savard term over Dollar? I like the Idea of Signing Brandon Saad immensely and bring up Sandin, Robertson, and Brooks to fill in some gaps then use the rest of the cap to sign the rest of the depth needed? But like I said I'm not in a great headspace this week so this is helping me a bit

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letter_Kenny</b></div><div>I think the Leafs are better off without Hamilton. Their roster is already top heavy with 4 players making over 40 mil a year. Adding Hamilton makes it 5 players making almost 50 mil. Even If you trade Rielly you're still paying Muzzin and Brodie 10 mil. So that's 7 players making 60 mil. So you're left with 21.5 mil to pay 15 players. Does this even make sense? Good luck filling out the rest of your roster with quality depth.</div></div>
Again it's mock up even I think getting Hamilton is out of realm but I'd love for the team to look like this it most likely won't but I'm not having a great week and doing these get my mind off it so consider it therapy I suppose?

So would I that's why I thought Luke Fox was nuts when he said that? I know the Leafs were in on Pietrangelo but didn't pull the trigger due to the price. Whether or Not it would have been beneficial to the team is a question we can never answer now. The Leafs missed out on the first which is why they aren't probably going to let a 2nd opportunity like this slip through their fingers. Anyway there's no Detroit in the trades this time? What do you think mate?

Well he did have Larkin, Mantha, Bertuzzi to begin with so that's already a good start no? It's not that the players were bad on this team and Yzerman went hard in FA while in Tampa Bay so yeah I kinda expected a Wizard like Yzerman to have the Wings in Wildcard contention by 2021/2022 season or 2022/2023 season yeah?

Value wise, you're not too far off, Detroit just isn't the trade partner.</div></div>
But I'm more surprised that Yzerman isn't thinking ahead at this point when did he fully rebuild Tampa Bay and how long did it take? 2011 to 2013 they spent in Rebuild then made the playoffs in 2014, the Finals in 2015 and have been consistently in playoff contention ever since. This is Detroit's 3rd year away from playoff contention I'm not saying they have to be at Tampa level but they definatly need to start the path now according to the timelines and a Top 4 d man can give them that push
