Yeah I don't think the Leafs would want Subban for Mikheyev alone let alone a 2nd as well.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TampaBayLightning22</b></div><div>From what i heard to read, He wants to be traded to a team that will give him what he wants. Similar to the Seth Jones trade even though Jones was still an RFA and Klingberg is a UFA. Hearing that he wants that 8th year so it sounds like a sign and trade kind of deal where Jim Nill would give him the 8th year and the team that would acquire his rights would give him assets back similar to what Chicago and Columbus did with Seth Jones.</div></div>
At 30 already I would say getting 8 years an major money is a stretch. Especially after back to back down years

He's asked for a trade already so he wants out. My guess is he wants to find a place where he can rebuild his value which has fallen off over the past 2 years.

Well it's clear he doesn't want to stay in Dallas, he's made that well known, but 5x5 is hopelessly optimistic

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Roysboy72</b></div><div>I know Leafs fans have never been the biggest proponents of Engvall, but is he really a negative value player? The way I see it he's a very serviceable bottom 6 guy with a decent contract for his level of production. The kind of player you get a 4th-6th for at the deadline from a contender wanting to increase their depth.</div></div>
He's actually a really good player. Leaf fans are often really dumb. Many of us think any player on any other team is better than all our players beyond the core 4 Rielly and Muzzin.

Just out of curiosity, who does Ottawa pass to become a playoff team next year? Looking at the standings, there is a lot of teams between the Sens and one of the wild card spots.

You are terribly wrong about Severson, he's the best player to target. Unless you go the rental route and get Klingberg. However, i agree, you just don't move Amirov, or Niemela and Knies for that matter. Move Robertson, he's never going to get a real shot in TO.

Zub isn't even that good. He gets hard minutes on a bad team and isn't exactly great at keeping the puck out of the net.

Well the Bruins were a different story from a different team. Babs was a bad coach who's own ego cost the Leafs that series. Seriously, who plays a 37 year old Marleau more than Matthews.
Columbus was a 5 game series where two different goalies went off over a short series and Andersen let in bad goals in games 1 and 5 that were back breakers. They held the edge in 5v5 play. Montreal had Price and that was the difference.
Saying their game can't win is just not wanting it to.

They will need to play their game. Give up nothing and make the most of their chances. So long as they don't shoot themselves in the foot they'll be fine.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MrDinkiee</b></div><div>Defend well? They haven't for the past month from what I have seen. The Leafs are trying to outscore their problems, but won't be something they can do come playoff time</div></div>
Keefe said something the other day that really made sense. When they play their game they give up nothing and wait for their chances. When they do that they end up winning games by allowing almost nothing. However, recently they have been trying to hard to score when it's a tight game and then they give up too many odd man rushes and transition offence. Vs Calgary they weren't winning big because Markstrom went off and they started pressing too hard and gave up some chances they don't normally give up. Similar thing happened a lot.
When they play their game they dictate the game. They give up nothing major and still create big time chances. To see it any other way, is to just deny exactly how they play.

If you read my other comments, you would understand what I am saying, instead of jumping onto my last one. With a good coach who has been coaching many of these guys, and a good defensive assistant coach, we have been playing better even though we have only played 2 games under them. Winnings winning… it doesn’t matter if you win by 5 goals or 1.. it just matters that you got that win.</div></div>
I think you may feel differently about that in the near future.
