As you don't want to move Foligno this trade is no for you, but I think it would be a win for the Wild.</div></div>

Tell me the last time you saw a 12-piece trade in today's NHL. Exactly. Besides, ANA is never moving Gibson, especially not for the dog **** you've suggested here.

When he's trash you wanna move him for 600 things and expect nobody to care about cap but when he's great you wont take 600 things and think his cap is fine.
Now is the perfect time to move him because people would actually take him but obviously playoffs are important too.</div></div>
Don't lump me in with the group you're calling "Leaf fans". I'm never trading Mitch Marner. He does everything and his teammates would take a bullet for him. Irreplaceable.

It’s never too hard to spot Leafs fans in these suggested deals: they’re ALWAYS the ones offering dog **** sandwiches in exchange for much more edible fare. Ritchie was waived. No one wants him. Only way to flip him is to make it worthwhile by including a sought after asset and in this case, there aren’t any. Rubinstein has been exposed as slow and not of NHL calibre. SDA is a midget Russian destined for KHL. Dermott stinks and most know it, but he’s the only piece here that MIGHT draw interest and I know for sure that CHI wouldn’t trade Havel for Dermott straight up, let alone include DeHaan — who, by the way, is a complete pigeon.

Bro, you need Habs Rehab, big time. Lehkonen's not worth ten dead flies, let alone a solid D-man on team-friendly contract, let alone a young prospect and 1st Rounder to go with. Wake up. Take up soccer fandom or something instead.

Holl has modified NTC, so he's a little tougher to move and I'd rather have him than both Dermott and Liljegren. I don't want Liljegren to get any points, just want someone that can defend and he just can't. We can call a spade a spade now or waste three years when the entire League realizes he's a pigeon.

TOR dumps Mrazek and Liljegren and get Sanheim
Before anyone goes nuts, hear me out!
Listen, Mrazek's money and term are crazy and has to be dumped. Toronto has seen that Campbell's their guy and they'll need space to get him signed. Liljegren is never going to be more than a 5-6 depth guy. Robertson always impressed me but now he's been hurt and how's he going to work his way (and have Leafs get full worth out of him) with a lineup that starts with Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander, Bunting? He's a tradeable asset and sweetens the pot for another team to take on the Mrazek mess. The 3rd rounder accomplishes the same.
The return in this case is Travis Sanheim, who is a big, tough defencemen that Leafs can re-up in a year and be a 2-3-4 guy for them for many years. Jones simply fills the role as backup to Campbell for rest of year, then he's gone this Summer.
What's everyone think?

Manson would be a welcome addition and can be signed in the Summer. Dermott is a total waste of time and getting rid of him and his money helps. Kerfoot is just okay if you ask me and is overpaid proportionate to what he brings. What's everyone think?

Leafs Trade 4
With the four trades I've suggested for the Leafs this afternoon, their lineup ends up looking like this to me:
Bunting-Matthews-Nylander
Kerfoot-Tavares-Marner
Mikheyev-Kampf-Kase
Parise-Spezza-Simmonds
Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Manson
Sandin-Chara
Campbell
Holtby
...and they have some room for some other deadline moves.

Leafs Trade 3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>Petey, I'm gonna tackle all 3 trades in this one post:
Trade 1 - They might do this, I'm ok with it, cause I think Dermott's hit his ceiling with the Leafs
Trade 2 - DAL is gonna want more than Engvall for Holtby, and with retention you're looking at adding a second and a prospect
Trade 3 - I don't see a 4th being enough to unload almost 6 mil in cap
These 3 trades also bring our avg team age somewhere close to getting the seniors discount at Denny's. If they were to do this, we better have guys ready to step in when they break their hips.</div></div>
Hi Dutch!
Dermott has to go, Lou likes him. Chara and Parise bring some veteran presence, Lou will be good to them. Want Chara for 15 minutes per game more than I want Parise, but he's an upgrade on the 4th line to anyone Leafs have right now.
I disagree that DAL will want more than Engvall to unload Holtby. They're carrying three goalies' salaries right now, so they're basically getting a UFA that they can sign and be of use to them at a team-friendly number in exchange for a UFA that they don't want. Retaining a little salary is the cost of doing that business. Retain 50% and get Engvall or carry 100% and get nothing. That's how I see that one.
As for the BUF trade, they need a goalie and Mrazek would work for them. Too, they'd perceive Holl as a good RD. Salary dump for the Leafs and a couple of roster players for a rebuilding BUF.
As for average team age, I'm aware but content to worry about that in the off-season. Core is going to remain the same regardless and with these moves, Leafs have much better chance of a Cup run NOW, PLUS it frees up some salary cap space for next season. Regardless, Leafs have to go for it NOW. This is it for Dubas/Shanahan and they know it. Watch and see.
Thanks for the discourse as always.
Cheers!
