Next season Oilers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MJ87</b></div><div>Lol I don’t need to check social media to see a bone head trade when I can see it here. Oilers have lots of holes and inadequate players. Nuge is not either of those.</div></div>
Better shooter fills top 6 winger needs that we haven’t had in awhile and like I said it’ll be Connor Leon 1st and 2nd line centre roles and nuge is not a 3rd line centre it’s my opinion you may have a different one but Mantha is a really good player

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MJ87</b></div><div>What is that red wings trade. Might as well put nuge on waivers.</div></div>
Scoring winger something we don’t really have, year younger cheaper has really been trending upwards. I love Nuge he’s probably my favourite Oiler but I think this trade helps us long term with Connor and Leon as the 1 2 punch nuge is a natural centre and doesn’t belong at 3. Just check around social media this was a suggested trade rumour

Not with how he played in the playoffs I say between 3.75-425 m per maybe with more term that’s just my opinion

Was thinking that too but just based the trade off of the rumoured deal at the deadline that fell through I believe leafs have a important offseason with the Marner contract

Tweaks for next year
Parayko is 10x the defensemen then Darnell Nurse is he’s way more complete then him and in terms of lucic trade I would much rather Jeff carter 3 years older with 1 less year then Milan any day of the week, Jesse value is not as high as people think especially coming off surgery on both hips

Light changes but better faster oilers team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Oilfan1717</b></div><div>Despite the rating I basically I like the team. Three concerns:
1. It would almost certainly take more than that to get AA from Detroit - your proposed deal amounts to an exchange of bad contracts (Sekera and Franzen) - one of whom can go on LTIR for some cap relief. The other one is Sekera. Then it’s Rattie and a 2nd for Athansiou and a 4th. This is a very bad trade for the Wings. The only way to make this deal palitable for Detroit is to offer up the Oilers 2018 first instead of their second rounder in 2019 and add a prospect - say, Jones or Benson.
2. You’re proposing that Boqvist plays in the top four. It’s rare for a rookie to come in and suceed right off the bat. I’d like to see Bouqvist get some seasoning first until he’s ready, which ideally would be 2020-21.
3. Your team consists of 21 players. Typically teams carry 23 players. You have no more cap space to sign anyone else... this is a problem.</div></div>
Well I’ll start off by saying offering up our first plus jones or benson would be absurd AA is not worth that much and frazen is just a bad contract that sits on long term injury reserve while sekera still has lots of game left in him he can really help their back end when he’s healthy for next season
Maybe I would just add jones to the trade to even it out more because AA didn’t have a terrific season and is also a RFA
Secondly, I agree with Boqvist it’s not likely a young prospect can jump in a lineup that quickly and you definitely don’t wanna rush him either I just think from what I see in his fast paced game that oilers would really benefit from this season he can definitely quarterback a power play for us but I really like him and hope he falls to 10 for us, my other option would be bear of signing another dman to play top 6
And last, the cap might even go as high as 80 million next season and I think there are obvious guys would fill in the 23 man roster our farm system is looking like it’s reallt improving next year Bakersfield is looking good

Next year oilers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Truebeliever</b></div><div>I think you're undervaluing Carlson at $6M, but there's lots of cap room so that's possible. <strong>So 1 star for adding a player of value</strong>.
The deal with Boston is probably fine (<strong>so, 3 more stars for tha</strong>t) and would help Boston while giving the Oilers something for a departing asset.
Detroit is rebuilding and isn't going to trade for an ageing defenceman and a longshot. Caleb Jones is not close to the talent his brother Seth is.<strong> (So 1 star down)</strong>
Gauthier is looking more and more like he'll be a good player -- not a great player, but a good one. Carolina is also a pretty fast team. Lucic has always been slow and is getting slower. Carolina can absorb Lucic's crazy cap hit, so maybe there's a pick the Oilers could have, but no way two picks and a very decent prospect. <strong>(Sorry, another star off)</strong></div></div>
I thought that maybe the wings can use another experienced blue liner and maybe that the second was to steep and same with the lucic deal the second felt the same way for me but I don't think those deals are far off from what you rated it

Big trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>So if I take out benson is it fine? I'd keep jones there becuase our left side is full with klefbom and nurse unless we plan play him on the 3rd pair and move out russells last year by then I like both of them dont get me wrong but I feel like the oilers should be very aggressive in moving lucics contract before it gets ugly and this is what it would cost and besides zacha is 21 has top 6 power forward potential and will be cheap for a while</div></div>
Zacha's numbers aren't the greatest but I don't know if his potential is worth trading a first for maybe i would do is lucic jones and a 3rd max plus you have to remember lucic has a no trade clause

If the Hoffman rumours are true plus more closer to deadline, thoughts?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Larkinisking</b></div><div>Looks like Hoffman to Edmonton is mere speculation, He just said that Hoffman would look good in Edmonton. Nothing that the two teams are talking to one another.</div></div>
Well I'm basing off what I read today, Kypreos saying that the two teams have had conversations on Hoffman but I guess that trade is based if Ottawa stays in playoff race or drops to the basement

really realistic but I would say they don't pick up Okposo and instead put on either Pierre Luc Dubois or Matthew Tkachuck to the team right away, it saves Cap and helps them develop with the team better

Eriksson wants at least 5.5 per season and also if it's two years ahead maybe you can add whoever they draft to the roster to the team
