Barrie is only +3 with 10pts on Edmonton, while Savard is only -2 with just 5pts on Montreal. I disagree, i watch a fair amount of habs games and hes definitely better then Barrie defensively. And i like the 1 mil savings for next season. God knows we're going to need every penny

Would you really give up Evan Bouchard in that situation? If so then yes, Ottawa accepts
Maybe they could even re-sign Zub in the off-season.</div></div>
I neglected to write it in but the deal was with Zub signing longterm in Edmonton. Bouch is already better offensively then Zub with Zub the better defensman. Bouch probably rounds out sooner then later, ending up the better dman overall but based on where both teams are now, each works better for the other team presently

And watch the return be no better then this. Guaranteed!!! I'll come back to this when he does go somewhere to remind you i was right. I expect a beverage as an apology btw 😉😃

Montreal is openly looking for an offensive vet defenseman as per readings yesterday, while looking to shed 1 of their 16 forwards. With Dvorak at the top of the list.. Barrie has out produced Dvorak. There is zero dropping or adding. Their value, honestly, is likely a straight up deal. Dont be upset Montreal overpaid to acquire him

Carter Savoie is actually a great prospect and could be the next Debrincat himself. The other 2 yes, ok. This years 1st is late. Next years is unknown and still highly valuable. And its highly unlikely hes moving without money coming back. Klef is 1 year and can be put on LTIR.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DriveFor25</b></div><div>Habs are indeed interested in acquiring Barrie, but not because he’s good. He’s useful to us because 1) he can eat up big minutes to replace Petry as the 1RD 2) he’ll improve the PP 3) he’s a net negative on the team analytically and will help us tank while making the team a bit less depressing to watch. We aren’t giving a 2nd for Barrie whatsoever considering the Oilers don’t have leverage and he isn’t good enough to theoretically warrant that return anyways. In my mind he should either have minimal value (late 3rd-4th rounder) or very slight negative value (Habs get paid a late 3rd/4th rounder to take him). While the Oilers really shouldn’t do this, Hoffman for Barrie would be more likely to go through than Barrie for a 2nd if you’re trading with MTL. Alternatively, he could probably just be a throw in piece in a larger Habs trade (i.e. Puljujarvi or Anderson centered-trade - fyi Anderson for Barrie 1-for-1 ain’t happening, there’s a lot of interest surrounding Anderson and we’ll prob get a first for him).</div></div>
Oilers do not want Anderson. He's way too injury prone amd honestly, not all that great. That contract is horrid. Do not understand the hype. I wouldn't take him for a bag of pucks unless the habs were taking Kassian and all the other things we dont want. Hes played a full season once when he had a career high 47 points. No thanks

The point was to have 4 lines good enough to be able to roll 4 lines pretty equally lol. So we're not killing our stars and they have gas for a long playoff run where they can up mins if necessary for them and McCann and Jesse can move up to flank Nuge if its not working well enough. But somehow you think i put McCann and Puljujarvi together on the line to play 6 mins a night?? hahhahahahaha right back at ya lol

Joe Pavelski Oilers Flat Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RWellington</b></div><div>I would tend to agree on a starting Goalie however the list of available FA goalies is thin. Keumper likely resigns in COL, Fluery isn't coming to EDM, and is Campbell a true #1 and will he see the open market.
Yamo and JP may get bridge deals and honestly I am fine with that, they are still RFA's so they are limited in bargaining power.
Barrie is a redundancy, EDM needs defensively conscious players. Secondly EDM needs cap space so swapping Barrie for Braun and creating $2.5M is space goes a longgggggg way with a flat cap.
Factor in larger raises for JP & Yam, Barrie and a Starting goalie at $5M per and EDM is well over the cap which means someone goes.</div></div>
Probably Barrie and/or Kassian and potentially Foegele. Any combo or all. But even 1 of Jesse or Kailer could be on there way out

If you had read the actual trade details it was noted that it all hinged on an extension being agreed upon. The overpay of picks , prospects is to assure Chicago takes BOTH Smith and Kassian. Id add another 2nd to make it happen. But they're gone 1 way or the other if im GM. As it stands theres plenty out there floating around that a 1st for fleury may be high. It could be a 2nd that gets him. I doubt that However.

More for future cap issues honestly, based on remaining staggering rfa years. And their future potential ,for Sillinger to get to Pulju levels in short order with China and Tullio likely becoming similar players production wise
