Lmfao you are crazy to even suggest this. Even straight up this is a bad trade. With retention it’s beyond ridiculous.

he really isnt. Not enough of an upgrade to get all of that on top of tavares and retain that much for 5 years. Crosby is 3 years older and has a concussion history, this would be terribly stupid for the Leafs to do

(TOR/CAR) - Korshkov, Warsofsky for Galchenyuk
NGL, I like this more for the Canes rather than the Leafs. Hope I am wrong.
Maybe Korshkov said he wasn't coming back?
Edit b/c people don't seem to understand:
The reason the Leafs didn't claim Galch was because they'd have to keep him on the roster, not the taxi squad. Players of his calibre often have more value after going through waivers than before. Dubas can now put him on the taxi squad for cap purposes, or send him to the Marlies. We couldn't if we claimed him off waivers.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Laquille</b></div><div>What do you guys think of Meloche? been following him since Junior but didn't watch his games lately so would like some opinions</div></div>
To be honest I have no idea why he's on an NHL squad right now apart from injuries. I haven't seen him play a lot, but from the AHL games I saw and the training camp stuff as well there's not really anything special there. Here's a snippet from a February 2020 article:
Scout #1: "The Meloche kid hasn’t improved for me at all. I thought he’d do a little better in San Jose, but he’s plateaued as well.”
Scout #3: “Not good enough to be an AHL defenseman. There’s a lot that I don’t like.”
Scout #4: “Surprised [he was recalled by the Sharks]. He’s physical. Maybe it’s his turn, thought it would be Carrick.”
Not really as down on him as some of the "scouts" but the consensus is there hasn't been much development there.

Mikko Lehtonen is 3rd pairing D with PP potential. he is not saviour on defense. He is a somewhat usable offensive piece for 3rd pairing.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rollie1967</b></div><div>The Leafs are still in cap hell. If my last name was Kerfoot ... I wouldn't be buying real estate anytime soon.</div></div>
They have the whole roster signed, and don't have to make any trades.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rollie1967</b></div><div>Yah getting out of cap hell is easy ... when you give away first round picks to take on contracts (Marleau).</div></div>
You can thank Loui Lamoriello for Patty Marleau at $6,300,000 x 3 years (cost a 1st round pick)
You can also thank Lamoriello for Nikita Zaitsev at $4,500,000 x 6 years (cost Connor Brown)
You can also thank Lamoriello for renting Tom Plekanec to play #4C (cost a 2nd round pick)
You can also thank Lamoriello for renting Brian Boyle to play #4C (cost a 2nd round pick)
You can also thank Lamoriello for keeping JVR + Bozak + Komarov (cost a massive haul)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rollie1967</b></div><div>Or just give up good young and reasonably priced players (Johnsson) for nothing.
He was projected to play in their top 6 ... and they got an unsigned minor leaguer for him.</div></div>
Joey Anderson had better even-strength points/game and goals/game than Johnsson last year (with worse line-mates).
He's also 4 years younger + better defensively + kills penalties (and would've played all year if he didn't break a bone).
Joey Anderson will be better than Johnsson within a season or two (for one fifth of the price).
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rollie1967</b></div><div>They can barely squeak under the cap if they:

Lehtonen was good at RD, as was Dermott. Sandin doesn't have enough of an NHL sample size for me to comment on his RD play.
And switching D sides is a lot easier than moving a winger to centre. Like ALOT.

I've been a fan of stealing Cernak for awhile now - sure it's a slight overpay in AAV now but if you get OS at 4x4 he's well on his way to be the Rielly partner solution

I mean no denying Marner is better than Drouin but adding Marners contract would probably put the habs in the same cap situation as the leafs when it comes time to extend Romanov, Caufield and their top pick for this year. If management still think KK can be a top C they will keep him and for the time being enjoy not being in cap hell....Definitely an interesting trade no doubt.

If the cap stats flat Toronto would be more intised to do this but they would have to feel like thier backs are against the wall.
The flip side of that though is MTL is giving up cap space and cost control for more years. I think they would take the chance that they'd be able to resign Marner before FA but it would be an interesting trade.

montreal should take that and run. marner is among the best young wingers in the game and kk was on pace for an 18 pt season. drouin is good but he's not in the same class as a guy like marner.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brocklesnar</b></div><div>Juolevi has had some bad luck so far in his career but he is not considered to be "bad" prospect. His game is trending in the right direction and with proper guidance especially from an organization like Tampa Bay he can become a solid player.
Josh Anderson is not going to sign cheap either, thats pretty fair value. He is a UFA so either he can take a bridge deal or take deal with some term. He could take a team friendly deal to play with his best friend Horvat.
I also <strong>forgot that only Leaf players are considered to be valuable. And only a package of Kerfoot/Johnsson/Kapanen/Holl </strong>and some other plugs can get you good players in return.</div></div>
Is that your only roast now? Do you just say that to every leaf fan? I like how I am trying to provide constructive criticism and then you just totally bomb on me.
I forgot only canucks fans get mad when someone talks bad to them. I guess you will start lighting cars on fire

What a steal for Boston.
Getting a middle 6 forward for a 1st round pick is already a good deal in this years market, then you dump Backes on them and it's a steal. I hate when my Rival's win trades.
