I DOUBT Toronto trades Giordano. I BET there was a deal made behind the scenes with Giordano and the leafs. Lets not forget when he was traded here he was on an expiring deal. Others teams were offering him 2.5M deals multi years. and he decided to take near league minimum to stay with the leafs. My assumption is if the leafs would come to him and say "were going to try and move you" his answer would be alright Ill just retire" The reason he took the near league min is so he could finish out his career as a leaf not get traded far out west and to the States. I doubt toronto would do him like that.

So i myself was wondering earlier if Motte would be an option. Its weird he hasnt been signed yet. Unless he has his eyes on a team that needs to finish their RFAs first before they will sign anyone else. Ex: Edmonton Oilers. I could see Motte signing a 1 year deal to play for the oilers but I doubt it would be 850k , Id think more around 1M.

I believe Calle Jarnkrok will be traded, Unfortunately with the emergence of Matthew Knies and the signing of Domi and Bertuzzi to play on the left side as well , they cant afford a 2.1M player to play on the third or fourth line.
I personally think he will be added in a trade with Liljgren to bring back a Heavy Defenceman. Last season Liljgren was SAT over Justin Holl , so that basically shows how much trust Keefe had that Liljgren could play the way they needed come playoff time. He also doesnt fit Trees Prototypical 3-7th dmen on a Treliving team. I really think were gunna see a Liljgren+Jarnkrok trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dk325</b></div><div>K, I think you're just unaware of the Jackets system heh. Niemela would come in at probably 6 on their RD depth chart behind Severson, Jiricek, Peeke, Boqvist, and Ceulemans. I suppose 5 in this deal since Peeke would be getting traded, but there's still 0 path to him getting NHL time. There's no having him swap to LD either since they've got Werenski, Mateychuk, and Svozil there as well as several more LD prospects.

Abruzzese would be somewhere around Trey Fix Wolansky on the depth chart behind Gaudreau, Laine, Jenner, Johnson, Marchenko, Sillinger, Fantilli, Brindley, Dumais, Voronkov, Chinakhov, Texier, Del Bel Belluz, Malatesta, Bemstrom, Foudy, Olivier, and maybe Whitelaw and Pinelli.

Neither of those guys would have anything resembling a path to an NHL career in Columbus.

The only appealing part is the 1st, which is probably fine if Peeke and Roslovic are deemed expendable, but I imagine trying to work them into a trade that returns a roster player now would be more interesting to Jarmo.</div></div>

Oh I get that you have lots of prospects. The more “higher potential” guys you have in the minor system the odd are better they actually make it where you need them. And when you only have 1 spot and 3 guys that could fill it in a few years you have valuable assets to move for the hints like rentals. This timeline is also the same timeline I would project CBJ being contenders. I personally think they will be a wild card seed for playoffs as they are now and if they can remain healthy(health is the big thing). Next season for sure. Again, if you read my original post it doesn’t say CBJ should do it. Just that it’s the only one that would be close to possible and that depends and the GMs direction. I also noted that fans(like yourself) would say no. So I can definitely see why they would and wouldn’t do it.
