Hampus Lindholm before this season was in the honorable mentions section of worst contracts on the Athletic, so don't pretend you are oblivious to the fact that players who are signed into their thirties don't still have ups and downs. Miller is still scoring

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Ok fair, forgot about him on the reserve list, I would argue Zary could still be ahead of him but they would be #1 and 2 for sure
However I will say that Zary is ranked 47th in the <a href="https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-top-100-prospects-ranking/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">recent top 100 prospect rankings</a> and Lekkerimakki is ranked 83rd. That doesn't mean Lekkerimaki can't eventually pass Zary but right now Zary is considered the better prospect. Linus Karlsson is also ranked ahead at #60</div></div>
For sure Zary could keep his stock ahead of those two in the short-term, just not sure I'd put money on it quite yet

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ARMCHAIRGMOFTHEYEAR</b></div><div>Well considering their offense isnt bad, yet their still the 6th worst team in the league, I'd consider their D- Core pretty bad, Hughes is the only one I'd consider good and even he is a 1-way player.
Bear has been their 2nd best Dman and He is probably a #4.
The rest have been 3rd pair caliber or worse.</div></div>
I wouldn't call Hughes one dimensional. No he's not having a great season defensively, but he's looked to be battling something so there is room to suspect he'll bounce back down the line

Their chemistry is incredible. Buffalo has the cap to deal with it for a long time. And Boeser? He is not worth anything. He'll probably get to 20 goals and 50 points this season but has a terrible contract and is awful defensively. Ask any Buffalo fan.</div></div>
Boeser hasn't sucked defensively his entiry career, and that contract isn't terrible

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>majormoose007</b></div><div>Great contract but it's the wrong team who's signing it</div></div>
Can't move forward as an organization if you just put up the white flag and move out all of the valuable players and only keep the players who are underacheiving. This management has said time and time again that they don't believe they need a scorched Earth rebuild. They didn't experience what happened under the previous regime like we did, so we can't expect them to have the same type of recency bias as we do

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>Horvat is worth at least 2 mill+ more than Miller. Rutherford made the wrong decision x2 and refuses to try and fix it. But that's nonsense, why try and sign your best player/captain???</div></div>
That's a stupid overvaluation on Horvat. Everybody is getting caught up in the career year Horvat is having now, while forgetting who he use to be, and will probably revert back to once he's got some major job security going into next season. Not only that, but we forget the season that Miller just had and why there was so much incentive from his camp to get a deal done before this season began. Not hard to figure out, and there is nothing to suggest against that Miller won't bounce back, in fact, I think he's already starting to in the limited sample size under Tocchet

additionally, what do you yourself get out of responding individually to every person who said the kuzmenko signing doesn't make sense</div></div>
I create a more accurate discourse to the situation by correcting those whom are wrong, that's what I get, and you don't think maybe the Canucks want to keep Kuzmenko around beyond his upcoming contract? Keep in mind, 1st round picks are not guarantees
