Answered the 1st point above. 2nd point id say that im a bit biased for Hall due to his time in EDM, though I can see the point youre making. However I also think the Oilers problems lie on the LW, and the other winger options (Hoffman, Dadonov) are RW. As for the 3rd point, I have 3 players on the bench, so there should be enough room to call players up if you put players on the IR.[/quote]

My final thoughts are even if you have a bias for Hall, you should understand the value he currently and will have in the future, he's getting older and not the player he used to be. Sure he's a good top 6 LW, but to sign him at 7M for 4yrs looks more overkill than bias that is a Milan Lucic 2.0 in the making. Also I still stand by my 3rd point, there isn't a dman in the Oilers system who is ready to make the leap. So to just depend on your 7th dman to fill in a role that will probably see multiple dmen get injured is incredibly risky without a 8th or 9th dman considering how physically demanding it is to play the position. To add that you never know how good your extra dman or forward will perform on a come and go basis, sure they look promising, but their performance differs from season to season, so I think the extra 1M in cap is a must as in you are going to need the the leverage to trade or upgrade throughout the season if something doesn't pan out your way. Like at the beginning of a season or end of a offseason I think the mindset should be the prepare for the season and not think as if this team is going to be the same throughout the 82 games. Things happen and are unpredictable in every sport and you need to be prepared to adjust, so just like every other armchair gm on this website, this one and a lot of others don't consider this component of what goes through building for the season.
