I doubt Jacket's fans dislike this trade, like you say, but I can tell it's probably in the Jackets favor. I do see these players being available from the Jackets this offseason, but it probably is in packages to take on D-prospects and 2nd to 5th round picks to alleviate the bubble of bottom 6 players to make room for other young guys to come in. As a Jackets fan, I think Stenlund is a criminally underrated power forward center, Bemstrom is the unluckiest guy on the roster (I think he hit the most posts this season for CBJ + his injury history is rough), and I hope Korpisalo will turn it around after his surgeries this year.

The Leafs could probably get away with not sending the 2nd. Kerfoot really adds to the "too many middle 6 forwards" problem that Columbus has. I think a line of Kerfoot, Voracek, and Laine could be really fun to watch next year. Is Kerfoot more of a salary dump player at this point for the Leafs?

IDK. I kind of like the meat of the trade but the smaller assets could use more fine tuning. What would really make this trade make more sense to me is if a third team came in and took on Kerfoot, and a couple of those picks, and the Jackets walk away with a RHD after unloading their forward bubble. Maybe the Jackets retain 50% of the Kerfoot contract and send the 12 and this is just part of a three way blockbuster that gets Chychrun out of Arizona and Toronot can keep Der-Arguchintsev. I think Columbus would owe Toronto more, but I think it would come in the form of salary retainage or picks, but I really don't know what Toronto needs.
