<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>Was kind of hoping for a retained savard to come with monahan, struggling with my own build, to try and find the right adds and stay cap compliant. I would do the same deal for Savard...he isnt a rental

(MTL/WPG) - Monahan for 2024 1st (WPG), 2027 3rd (WPG)
its a win/win...win for MTL with the 2 picks but as draft guys are talking about, there is a massive drop after pick 22 for this draft class and we still have MTL 2nd that will be in the high 30's/low 40's...so it should be a drop of 15 spots for a decent 2nd rounder.
win for WPG as Monny solidifies the top 9 as long as he stays healthy like he has done for the last 12 months
The other aspect is that they Jets are overloaded with prospects so who cares about losing a first i a weak draft

Don't really have to trade Couts.
Appleton is ok.
Chaz Lucius is a great name.
Stanley is a road pylon.
Very late 1st.
Doesn't move the needle for me. 😬
But it's the 3 1/2 years of retention which kills it.
We're already retaining on Burns and Karlsson.</div></div>
Burns has one year left and its not like you have any other bigger contracts to deal with so its only tight for one more year...I get your point though

He is at .7 ppg, 53%+ on FO, is a vet that can play most situations etc...Winnipeg needs to bit the bullet and Chaz is probably the only prospect that I would be willing to give up for a rental as we have 4 others ahead of him in the pipeline

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>I could see the Isles making some moves but I doubt trading Nelson would be one of them, Lou's history with the Islanders indicates he'll probably go get something he wants like he did in the Pageau and Horvat trades.
If Lou is smart he'll go get a couple wingers that can score, its all the Islanders are missing.</div></div>
with 134K of cap? I mean that fair, he can do what he wants but this would be if they suck come March 2 and they want to do a reshuffle...save 9m in cap to rejig their lineup

I don’t see the Isles doing anything major until they see what Roy can get from this lineup… and even then, it’s unlikely… don’t get me wrong, I’d absolutely love Pulock in WPG, and I like where your going with this, but Schmidt is a must go if we are bringing cap back.</div></div>
Because the Jets have been accruing, we get like 5.5m in extra cap space come TDL day

The wingers can create offence for him. If Vladdy can get .60 points per game(mostly 5v5), anyone can...and he is getting 56% faceoff wins which we need on the PP and 5v5...That line basically plays line 3 mins 5v5 anyways with the Lows line getting 16-17 mins per game

Its more of a rebuilding team with an older guy getting paid for 8 years...They wanted to add him for a playoff team and this team regressed this year with all the garbage with Babcock...My thought of getting him on the WPG side is he is a big body RD who is a home boy...which is what WPG needs.

Torts has done an amazing job. It probably depends on what Philly thinks...They have a few UFAs that they may as well get picks/prospects for as they are not a deep playoff team but who knows I guess
