I think if they avs get that deal they take it.. inalso think that if guluyev can turn into an nhler than Girard is to expensive to keep, when the team has other needs

Better looking Sens 2024-25 roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>So in two years they have a hole in the D they stilll have to fill and whilst they've added futures they haven't added to current compete. Seems pretty backward to me.</div></div>
Your losing Girard anyway, you just hope that in 2 years you've got a behrens, gulyev, and/or malinski playing serious time or you use an asset to get a serious defensmen either through draft, UFA or trade.
Example: newhook for 1st and 2nd.
2nd for colton
So the future could look like:
Makar toews walker malinski guluyev and behrens.
Or it could be completely different once they are more cap flexible, but if you get a blowout trade win you take it

Better looking Sens 2024-25 roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>Avs decline. They aren't trading Girard who is under contract for longer for one year of 400k cap saving, even with a first attached, to then have to find a way to sign Chicken Run at the same time as re-signing a plethora of other players. They may have to trade Girard but it won't be a deal like that, probably purely for futures.</div></div>
They don't resign chychrun they flip him to another team that needs defense for a cheaper option, off the top of my head I'm thinking toronto as Ottawa probably doesn't trade within Ontario and leafs have the cap space after moving marner...
They turn Girard into a 1st and possibly minten or or another high pick.
Leaves them 5 mill open to sign walker or drouin or trenin.. whom ever they like and allows landeskog a return.
Saying that Ottawa would never trade chycrun and a 1st for girard

2nd rd
So drouin is a upgrade on parise and cogliano but not Val. Especially in the playoffs vals forecheck is almost necessary for mack and rantanen. I wouldn't be opposed to a
Drouin mack nuke
Lehky mittelstadt rantanen.
That's if the avs make it to the next rd, they always seem to play terribly during the afternoon games and then they head back to WPG

Nothing against JJ.
And you talk about pinching. Look how many times makar has pinched in regular season which led to goals.
But since he's a superstar he gets a pass.</div></div>
They're all pinching, makar gets a pass because he's a top 3 player in the league and makes 9 mill because of the fact he's so good offensively, jones is lucky to be on the team because of injury and should play more defensively.
But I'm talking about JJ playing better than jones at this point in the series and how Girard should come back and replace jones

What do you mean he was pushing him with his stick the whole time, schiefle didn't have the puck, anything more was an interference penalty.
What about jones not being able to keep the puck in the offensive zone or in game one when he kept pinching and getting caught which led to scoring chances and goals against

Really, are you assuming that landeskog retires we trade Girard? Because a new #1 goalie is going to cost, then you have mackinnon mittelstadt colton and frost down the middle

So from what I've heard is that briere is upset that johansen wasn't able to be sent down because of injury, that had not been disclosed by colorado.
Now that isn't necessarily colorados fault, sounds like ryjo is playing up an injury so he doesn't have to play in the ahl..
Anyway I'm hearing philly and Colorado probably aren't going to be friends while their current GMs are in place

It’s just funny how people on this site call Kakko a bust just because he’s not a point per game or the next Mcdavid</div></div>
Guys that get picked that high usually have an expectation of high production, it's not like he's alex turcotte or anything..
I always liked kakko, reminded me a bit of landeskog, so maybe if they can find a role for him like his he could be as successful

Whats the difference between early Nichushkin and Kakko
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rags21</b></div><div>It’s always been good since he was a teen coming into the league. It’s obviously better than his offense. Maybe above average but not elite, just yet?</div></div>
Well nuke had to redefine his game after his time in Dallas, the reason he's so effective is because of his speed, added with a motor that doesn't stop, being the first guy to the puck and winning puck battles.. his shot isn't very good and his deke move is always the same lol. So paired with other skilled players he's the "hyman" of the line, he's getting better at deflections and is picking up a bunch of assists from mack and rants.. while slamming in pucks from the front of the net
Mostly he's just an effective big bodied puck carrier that doesn't quit on anything

I don't know why drouin would lock in for such a low salary... maybe on a 1 to 2 year deal..
