Taking on contracts
Only one of these thats even close to realistic is the JGP trade.
Skinner isn't waiving.
Holloway isn't anywhere near enough to take on Campbell's deal.
A single mid-2nd isn't enough to take on Lee.

I think this is doing a bit too much. Forget the Edmonton trade. I don't think it really helps either side all that much. I'd do the Skinner trade, but doubtful that BUF will. I do believe there can be something done between the Hawks and Islanders. Those two can be good veteran leaders for all these young guys.

What I don’t get is why trade for markstrom when you have cossa waiting in the wings, it’s a lot to give up for 2 years</div></div>
He's not a Wing fan. No other Detroit fan is clamoring to trade for Markstrom, as the team is exiting a rebuild and starting to compete, not constructed to go on runs and win now.

Ya if can't trade Maatta, could buy him out too, that is if the youngsters are the better option on LD.

Draft day deals
Moving up to get #2 has been covered. Hawks decline for exactly why <a href="/users/Garak" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Garak</a> said.
Hawks also decline that other trade. Harris doesn't fill a need for the Hawks at all. And the Hawks wouldn't give up pick #34 for Barron. Maybe a lower pick, but not #34. How about Chicago's '24 3rd? #67.

Barron is worth a 3rd at best. But like that OTT proposal a little bit ago, I would rather target JBD than Barron, and I would be hesitant to spend a 3rd on JBD. So, that is where I stand.

I think it should absolutely be Demidov, and there should be no debate about that. At 5th overall, they could miss out on all of Demidov, Lindstrom, and Levshunov, and that would be unacceptable.

Nice job on this! I like all three additions and the trades seem fair. I'd roll the lines in the forward group a little different but otherwise this is some solid work.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SociallyHawkward</b></div><div>Celebrini is obviously the dream but I'd be very happy with Levshunov or Lindstrom. Both fill a position of need. Both bring size and physicality. I'm not sold on demidov just yet.</div></div>
How? Between Levshunov, Lindstrom, and Demidov, Demidov is absolutely the best player with the most upside. He has upside to be a bigger star than Celebrini, even. He could arguably have the best processing speed of any player ever. Just watch some tape, look at how quickly he adapts on the fly and makes decisions. Watch how he moves and handles the puck in small areas and manipulates defenders. Watch how he uses his feet in entirely unique ways to create deception and set himself up for his next deke/faint/pass/shot. He is insane.

True. But, has nothing to do with CHI's future. We don't NEED him, while the Isles do NEED the cap space. He is a negative asset, and should be treated as such, as far as a trade goes.

Agree with this. Lee is still a useful player but as Chicago stands, he's a cap dump to them. Isles are going to need to pay some kind of price to move him to Chicago and what's here isn't quite enough.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DH28Hockey</b></div><div>Maybe, maybe not. The one thing I can absolutely, positively, 100% promise you is this: if they like Dickinson as a player more than they like Levshunov, they're not going to not take him because he's left handed instead of right handed</div></div>
To play what position? I don't think you appreciate how good Alex Vlasic is, and how much they have invested in Kevin Korchinski, or that Dickinson is not Makar.

Early May 2 Rounds
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DH28Hockey</b></div><div>I don't really agree with that, Demidov is better but with fairly limited experience and multiple DY injuries, and you could make a pretty fair case that Dickinson > Levshunov (I don't necessarily agree, but I wouldn't call that take outrageous). Given next years draft is forward heavy, if CHI likes a defenseman with that top pick I don't think that's a bad selection at all</div></div>
You do realize Vlasic just completed his rookie season and ranks top 3 in the entire NHL in the defensive zone while playing top line minutes against the competitions most difficult assignments. Dickinson is not displacing Vlasic in other words. Then behind Vlasic is Korchinski, who was the youngest defenseman in the entire league this year and 2022 #7 pick overall. Behind that, Hawks have 4 prospects/young players who are fighting it out for the 3rd line.
So in other words, no way will the hawks draft another LHD guy.

NYI Trade in summer
I like the Celebrini pick! Hawks would make that Islanders deal but not too sure the Isles would. Do the Isles really want AA? Hawks wouldn't consider trading Reichel for Barron without the Habs adding. Which the Habs probably wouldn't. I honestly don't see the Hawks trading Reichel for less than a 1st despite his poor season this year.

I think Chicago is about a year or two away from making a big move like Reinhart. They'll add this offseason, but likely not a 7+ year deal.

Nice idea. But the Hawks won't be making any long term commitments to any UFA's from this year's class. Think guys like Marchessault or Tanev on big money 2 year deals.

Hawks easily decline. Branny is a decent player, but he's not a need in Chicago. The Hawks left side is all set for next season and beyond. Hawks also aren't looking to collect more mid round picks either. There is nothing in that package the Hawks want to take on Korpi.

Demidov is great, my thought process was to draft the elite RHD this year as we are bare in that department as well, and then draft an elite forward next year in a forward heavy draft.

Other than Leshevnov, this does seem pretty realistic. I agree w/ Jeep. Leshevnov goes back to college for a 2nd season if Hawks draft him. But I also think Demidov is the better choice. Not sure Turbo takes a 3 year deal unless Hawks up the salary quite a bit, which they could obviously do. Pretty solid job on this!
