It may take him a while to trust his shoulders again. Especially going into the corners. I'd give him another year to get the magic back.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>Lol I think Lou wants to upgrade on Eberle and go after Tarasenko (not a guaranteed upgrade) or Landeskog if he’s available. I don’t think this was about being afraid to lose Martin/clutterbuck , I’d bet there is a side deal. What that is I’m not sure.</div></div>
I think tarasenko will be, he put up 14 points in 24 games. That's hard to do when you come in with no training camp just off a surgery. I think with a full summer to train, some motivation from going to a new team, and a good training camp he will be close to his former self.

Putting together the puzzle pieces DISCUSSION
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>Plan A is ideal (signing landeskog if he’s available) but suter is going to be too expensive and the isles shouldn’t be giving out P.Bonuses to older players. McCabe/kulikov would be good options for 2LD, if they sign Merrill then Greene can’t play. You can’t have 2 out of your 3 LHD be offensive blackholes.
Plan B makes sense only if they don’t have to give up like a 2nd and STL retains 50% of his salary. It’s a huge risk.</div></div>
I think Lou has to have clean medicals for Plan B. Or our doctors give the green light. Probably doesn't make the deal without it. Forgot about McCabe, yes he could be a nice option there. I feel like Suter is the long shot to come here just because he will have more options than most of the UFA market, but he could be a great minute eater and improved partner for Dobson who should make a jump into the top-4

2021 offseason talks thread
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>Over the last 3 seasons McCann is slightly above average at driving offense but he’s a great finisher. He’s in the 92nd percentile at driving play defensively. G/60 stands for goals per 60 minutes so he scored at a higher rate than 62% of forwards over the last 3 seasons.</div></div>
Important to note that the data is weighted average, as well. I don't follow or subscribe to JFresh, but I'm assuming a significant factor in determining the importance of certain numbers is the recency (as it should be). In the comparison of McCann to Kerfoot, that's likely to tip the scales a little more than what's realistic - Kerfoot having had a terrible year, McCann a great one. We're likely to see a regression both ways with those two. I'd still much prefer to keep McCann for a number of reasons.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>But McCann is the better player and it’s not close. Considering Seattle hired a high end analytics team, the choice will definitely be McCann unless Dubas gives up high draft picks</div></div>
True. I think its either Kerfoot and a 3rd going to Seattle, or Kerfoot and Liligren going. Kerfoot would be nice as if it does not work out Seattle can flip him for value as both this season and next season only owed 750k.
Heck maybe neither and Seattle shocks everyone and takes Hyman. Then goes cheaper elsewhere. Friedman did say Francis has inquired and Seattle was one of the teams next to Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary who was a frontrunner. Like Hakstol probs going "Francis get Hyman trust me"

Pass on the seattle deal. Id rather let them pick bellows and deal hickey for a 3rd (might also need that 5th but not more) plus komarov if we want at the deadline could be retained and moved for a pick. No need move that many assets for an unnecessary cap dump.

When Barzal can't produce at a high level with Komarov on his line , isles writers/fans question if he's a 1c. It's bizarre. His point totals will increase once Trotz allows him to play with a sniper like wahlstrom instead of 4th line grinders. Quality of teammates obviously affects production, but people like to overreact.</div></div>
Feel your pain. Barzal is playing in the same situation as Heiskanen, they play with a bunch of grinders and still are good, but with good players they become even better.

If Tavares was willing to waive there is a chance this could happen for pure cap reasons or if it was 100% guaranteed the leafs would do better without him and the cap hit. The issue than becomes replacing JT with another bonified top 6 center. And this years center market is kind of meh minus Danault and Granlund.
Its one of those I dont know moments

I thought for some reason he was a Ufa next year not in two. If so yes it's a stupid length

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>we don't want Barbashev lol</div></div>
The barbashev point is to stop these major overpayments for tarasenko. According to reports they left VT unprotected and used that slot for barbashev. Meaning it wont take more for tarasenko than barbashev. Rn i personally think VT has negative value at full price but thats just my opinion. I completely agree i dont want anything to do with barbashev.
