He’s also going to live in NY, play in one of the nicest arenas in the league… play with Barzy, Bo, Nelson, Dobson, Sorokin…</div></div>
Him being familiar with Lou hurts more than it helps

Markstrom probably only ranks ahead of Gibson and Elvis for goalies I'd want. I'd rather Jarry over Markstrom. A goalie turning 35 is not a piece I'd spend a 1st on.</div></div>
Jarry? You mean the albatross goalie who's so bad Nedeljkovic has started the last 13 games over when the team is desperately fighting for the last wildcard spot? The one signed for 5.4 mil for the next 4 years and is so unplayable that he's being completely benched in the most important stretch of the teams season? That Tristan Jarry?
I can understand not wanting Markstrom at his age and price tag but my goodness you couldn't have picked a worse example and i'm really starting to think you guys are just gonna end up going into next season with Allen and Kahkonen hoping and praying for the best.

I dont think anyone in the NHL understands whats going on with Buffalo and the insane 13 season playoff drought.

If Kaut wants to come back to North America, I think CHI should be interested in a deal like this. I'd absolutely give him another shot for a 7th round pick.

Does this get it done on value? Maybe. But I think both arenas would burn before any of those players got a chance to suit up for the other team.</div></div>
I'd do it. Because the value favors Buffalo just slightly, I'd want top ten protection on the pick, even if it is 2026. But I'd do it. Power can play on the right, since he does now with Dahlin. He's already signed to a long-term deal so there's no anxiety about salary negotiation. This is the kind of return that would absolutely convince me to move both Jiricek and Jenner, too.

As I get the sense you aimed to craft a roster and not just sort them by best-to-worst player at each position, I think there are a few changes I'd make.
1.) I think Rantanen with Hintz is a combination that'd I'd prefer to see. Each player brings a skillset more analogous to a common linemate of theirs (Rantanen has similarities to Robertson, Hintz to Mackinnon). For the 3rd member, I'd maintain that theme and put Lehkonen on that line.
2.) Aho is the picture of consistency and he & Teuvo seem like a safe place for Laine to land. It's a line designed to both maximise Laine's strengths and mitigate the risk of his limitations.
3.) Obviously I don't mean to say Barkov is the 3C, but I see his skillset being best utilised in carrying a line with a couple of lesser-known names.
4.) To that note, I see no world in which Maccelli doesn't crack the active lineup based on current performances and a line with he & Barkov could likely achieve a lot. I'd personally push for Tolvanen here for the fit (line needs a shooter & some physicality), but a case could be made for a few different players.
That would leave Lundell & Kotkaniemi anchoring a low-event shutdown line with another of the remaining players. Not sure I see any major issue with the D corps aside from wanting Joker a bit higher.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles10</b></div><div>Yeah Chicago was one of the toughest choices lol. I almost went with Vlasic, but Dickinson was more fun imo.
Do you agree with Connor Murphy being the most overrated? Seth Jones seemed to easy if you know what I mean?</div></div>
Murphy’s having a bit of a rough season so it’s a fair choice but as a whole his time with the Hawks has been solid. Jones is very divisive because of his contract so you could probably make a case to put him in either category. He’s still the Hawks’ best all around defenseman

Maybe they could flip Pageau down the road as well, he's very highly regarded in the league for some reason.</div></div>
I mean that’s all well and good but these peices just aren’t that interesting for a guy like Buch
Also we are retaining in leddy so we’d still have that cap
Obviously I’d like a guy like Dobson but that’s not happening
What about Mayfield, Walhstrom, a First, A 3rd For Buch Retained?
Idk if Armstrong goes for that but that seems more feasible

Nashville/trotz is putting together a team that Lee does not fit. Brunette is a fast paced, run n gun type like he did with NJD and Lee isn’t needed or his cap
Buchy is a top winger in the league at a great cap which you lowered to even better for a bottom pair defenseman, average center and middle 6 winger who hasn’t shown strides. The only thing of value is the 1st round pick. Not to mention, they’re retaining $4.9m next year and $2m the following

Honestly the values here aren't too bad. Good job.
Canucks POV we wouldn't trade draft capital for another winger I don't think but if we needed a winger that price is probably right.

Fair. I thought he looked super good at the prospect tournament last weekend. I’m assuming he will play top 6 in the AHL this year with first unit PP and PK time.
Looking a blueger only being a one year contract, it makes me think management expects raty to replace him after his contract expires next season
