A multitude of things.

a) classic Kings mismanagement of a player that was rather 1-dimensional when drafted, not allowed to do what he does best.
b) snakebitten offensively this past season when called up
c) not great defensively

I thought he improved his skating, was fighting harder for pucks in 22/23, but fell back a little last season. Constantly got put in the doghouse by McLellan/Hiller for worse players.

Despite his struggles, he was still one of the better players at generating chances/60. I think with a new start, he could easily put 20G with consistent gametime.

I think there will be teams lining out the door to sign Joshua at 3M. Then again, maybe he's a systems guy that wont look remotely as good outside of Tocchet's system and playing with Garland... Either way, I think Vancouver's first piece of business is getting him extended.

I had the same idea of Nedeljkovic, but 2 years instead of 3. Brossoit has been really good, but doesnt have the experience of playing 1A minutes (45-50 GP). Not sure how he'd handle the significant increase in workload.

Bringing Jazz hands back on a cheap 1-2 year deal might be an option for 3LD. I just dont think Mikey - Gavrikov 1-2 on the left side is cup-contending material. I'd try and find a partner for Gavrikov, and then look to maybe trade for Shea Theodore. We desperately need more mobility on the blueline.

I think that the Chychrun ship sailed at the trade deadline. I don't see spending our first-round draft pick on an expensive LD rental. The Chychrun to LA ship will never die. I imagine the Kings (and Jakob) would be interested in extending him beyond just next season. That left side desperately needs some mobility and playmaking, I cant take another season watching our RD get pressured, forced to throw it around the net to the LD, and then see them toss it up the boards to no one. Whatever it takes to get Englund out of the lineup.

If RV is taking a VERY team-friendly deal, I wouldnt say no to taking him back, but his injuries are a serious concern. Best asset is availability. Not adding skill to PLD's line if he's not on it most of the season.
