An Anahiem roster with more skill than the post cap era
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IceToMeetYou37</b></div><div>"I might flip lines 1 and 2, and swap Bedard for McTavish, just because new players traditionally start out on the wing.
I'd also swap 2nd and 3rd pairing D, no reason to give Klingberg 6.5 million if we are going to play him like Tyson Barrie."
Agreed, especially when you can carousel young guys like Vaakanainen, Helleson, or Zellweger. Those guys getting minutes next year will be huge, plus they might be one more year away from being contenders and not just a playoff team. Save that 6.5 and possibly lure a Devon Toews or Hanifin using that cash. Those guys are legitimate top four guys.</div></div>
I think Kling is perfectly capable of top 4 play, you just need a REALLY good defensive D to cover his ass. I think Lindell and Klingberg were just a really good pairing in Dallas since they knew how to operate together and Esa knew to cover for Kling being reckless.
All that said, I don't know that Klingberg is a fit for the team going forward. I'd rather look for someone more defensively responsible that can play with Zellweger or Mintyukov, or another offensive LD we have in our system.

Team Canada Juniors 2022. McTavish, Bedard, Zellweger reunion tour.

+/- has been shown by many analysts to be a mostly useless stat. For example, Ryan Graves led the league in that stat two years ago, and yet he sucks...
Also, Girard played most of the season with Jack Johnson who is great at dragging D partners down.

All 23 and under team
I'd put Sillinger on here well before I put boq on here. Just a Jackets fan opinion on the matter. I think Boq is pretty overrated as his game stands right now. Needs to take a big step defensively and physically this year or he will only ever be a pp specialist

Pretty sure Heiskanen is 23 or below, and he definitely deserves to be there.
Robertson I understand, I myself would probably also be too lazy to add him lol.

Buffalo Sabres signed Tage Thompson (7 Years / $7,142,857 AAV)
They couldn't just agree to $50M even? Had to be a buck short?
Is that a win for Buffalo that they saved the dollar?

2C Kinda Solved
It's going to be hard to find a 2C and hopefully Newhook is that guy later in the season but I'd target someone from SEA (who have a lot of C) or maybe Puis Suter from DET. Not an ideal 2C but has shown he can play with skilled players in CHI

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IceToMeetYou37</b></div><div>Dvorak is worth much more than that, his value is a late round first at this point. He's on a team-friendly contract and only 26 with a bunch of NHL experience already. Avs also don't have a third till 2025.</div></div>
I’d say a second and some other minor pieces is fair. After all, he’s probably best suited as a 3C which makes his contract fine but not great. He’s never really produced at a clip that makes you think he’s a true 2C imo. Maybe on a team like the Avs with a really strong supporting cast he could fill that but I still think you’d want him as a 3C.

He would be awesome with Colorado. If Newhook passes him at 2c, he will have a good contract at 3c too.

Leave Room for the TD
This is pretty accurate and true to what they are going to do. I think the d corp will be blendered a lot to optimize match ups and I think they run Toews and Girard together because of how good they were together 2 years ago.

Dude has played in zero NHL games and they give him 3 years... Come on Ducks, Ive been a lifelong fan but I think this is the breaking point. Time to follow a good team like the Flyers where they have a GM that actually knows what theyre doing

I dont like this for NJD. Vanecek has never had a season with a positive GSAx. The Georgiev contract was concerning too since he had a negative GSAx for the past 2 seasons but at least he had a track record of positive results prior to that (had a positive GSAx in his first 3 seasons)
