<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nightowl26</b></div><div>You don't think we need to move guys like Lee, Bailey, Parms, Parise, Cutter, Martin, etc, etc? You think this is a winning core going forward? Let's get something for Vary. We don't need a 5M goalie backup. Love Mayfield, but he's our 3rd RD guy. We won't be able to resign him. Are you telling me if we can get a 1st rounder and a prospect you wouldn't consider it. Then you can sign a vet for his spot and rotate him in with let's say Hutton.</div></div>

Absolutely not.

Clutterbuck is still a great PK and energy guy who continues to be atop the league in hits year after year. Matt Martin is also a glue guy who continues to be one of the league leaders in hits. If either contract ever gets burdensome, they can be buried for a low cap hit under $1m. Look around the league, for all the talk about how much Lou spent on 4th liners, they are right around league avg in salary cost as a group.

Bailey and Palmieri both had rough years, but continue to be .5-.6 ppg wingers. Trading them isn't going to net you anything worth more than that, unless you're making room for a UFA signing which we now know isn't happening. So what is the point?

Anders Lee just scored at a 30 goal pace.

Get off the ledge. Yes, this is a winning core going forward, because the exact same group has flirted with being in the SCF twice in the last 3 years and all of them are still prime age. It sounds like you should consider rooting for a rebuilding team instead.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>easy Hamonic from his rookie year until his final year 7 seasaons in played 22-25 minutes on ice until his injury plagued seasons in which in 49 games he still managed to still average 20 minutes despite being in and out . CGY didnt blink twice because over his career since he was 20 years old he played as much as Players like Leddy in their Prime

i get you're reasonable and unlike the rest will look at the sources so i suggest doing more then skimming over then for less then the 2 minutes the sources were posted before you commented . if you did you'd have seen the game logs and hows Hamonic was in and out of the line up .

if Leddy averaged the ice time Hamonic did with the impact he had on and off the ice then sure but even PK Friggin Subban who's 10X the player Leddy is never got the yield you're suggesting</div></div>

PK was traded straight up for one of the best all around Defensemen in league... WTF are you talking about bro my god. the fact that you think GM's look at a guy and say: hmm he played 25 minutes. sh it he must be really good, IS FU CKING ASININE. that is not how any professional scouting department evaluates a player and their value to the team they work for, at all. no one is dropping major assets on Dustin Byfuglin because he plays 24 minutes a night. no one is dropping 1st round pick for Risto because he played a ton of minutes. dude, I don't know what to tell you other than your arrogance and clear lack of understanding of player valuation, is a terrible combination.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgmilazz</b></div><div>Normally I laugh at the asking price of leafs fans but this is not enough for Kadri and signing Panarin is really not “realistic”.

I mean it’s possible but highly unlikely...</div></div>

Not sure why everyone is saying Panarin won't sign with the Islanders. It's been made clear since before last season started Panarin is looking at NY or FL, so that leaves NYI, NYR and the Panthers... of those three teams:

NYR - Yes, they offer NYC, but they are going through a rebuild, missed the playoffs by 20 points and have an aging/declining goaltender locked up... not exactly a good fit for someone looking to win.

FLA - Yes, they offer a place Panarin wants to play, no state tax and a decent enough team that Panarin can push them over the top, but they are sorely lacking in Defense and Goaltending, which are kind of needs for a cup team.

NYI - They offer NYC (Nassau is only a 30 minute train ride away), a solid young core group of forwards and defense, a skilled young talented center to play with, an all star head coach, HOF GM, have a new arena on the horion and just had the single greatest turn around year to year for any team in 100 years AND finished second in the Metro in a season where they lost their captain and franchise center.

Of the 3 teams, NYI offers Panarin the best of everything he wants... a team that can contend and win, close to a major city and it's in one of the two destinations he's looking for... so tell me again why everyone seems to think the Islanders are "Highly Unlikely" to land Panarin????
