<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>-Kings pass. If they're gonna start cashing in their young forwards, I feel like they use them to get upgrades at the NHL level, not flip them out for a future and an older prospect.

-Edmonton has Campbell &amp; Skinner both signed long-term - why would they target another goalie with term? I could squint and see them targeting a rental this year if they juggle some things, but this just seems like a weird use of their assets - not to mention an odd one for Montreal. I'm sure you could get JP out of Edmonton for a song at this point, and Jake Allen would be more valuable in a tandem with Sam Montembault than Cayden Primeau.

-Hoffman is starting to pull himself out of cap dump territory but he's still in the "traded for FCs/lower prospects at best" zone. 10 points in 24 GP with a $4.5M cap hit doesn't scream out as a guy you pay a pair of 2nds for.

-Anderson is a worse version of Mantha, so right there the Caps pass on this one. I can see the need for Edmundson, but Dvorak doesn't strike me as a guy they would target - they're trying to move Lars Eller because they already have better players ahead of him at center, and Dvorak just takes his place as an overpaid 3C.

-You'd be lucky to get anyone to take Armia off your hands. Wideman is cheap enough I could see someone throwing a 6th or 7th at you for him.

I also think you're giving Monahan way too much and Caufield not enough. Cole's on a 40-45 goal pace so I think you extend him the full 8 years in the $7.5-8M range; the only way I see him signing that low is if you bridge him for 2-3 years, and then you're just gonna pay through the nose for him down the line. Monahan, meanwhile, is a guy you should look at the Andrew Copp or Vincent Trocheck deals for value. I see him getting 4x$5M at most; his injury history makes anything longer than that a bit of a risk in my book.</div></div>

Very good insight
