I dont hate it per say, but I feel lke if we move Kessel for D it should be a LD, as a rd would only take minutes away from Tanger and schultz, and I like Big rig so im not keen on pushing him out of the line up

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>StuTheSniper</b></div><div>1. Then why are you resigning him knob?
2. He's split almost every year between leagues, so what does that even have to do with anything? Are you dense? Knob.
3. Last year was last year and this year is this year. Worst team in the league? Sounds like you're making a case for his poor showing then. Knob.
4. So RFA's don't get more than 900k? Knob.
Clearly you don't know nearly as much about hockey as you think. KNOB KNOB KNOB BOB ON MY KNOB</div></div>
1. First off, he's not resigning him. you dont pay people when they resign unless they still have money left on their contract. And the reason is probably because he either likes reaves, or more likely because this was not about reaves at all and was solely about fitting tavares on the team and he didnt care to find some other 900,000 dollar plug
2. wrong again, he played 18 NHL games in 2015 after being drafted and then was sent to JUNIORS, not AHL. last season he played in juniors the entire season again due to not being eligible to play in the AHL. He played 8 games with us this year only because literally everyone and their cousin was injured and he was sent down as soon as possible to finish his FIRST ahl season. being that he's 20 and has 5 points in 26 nhl games if you think he will be signed a mill or more you are verifiably crazy
3. this argument makes no sense. both years and all the years before will be accounted for during negotiation. Oh? he got traded to the defending 2X champs? well of course he's playing better. This is a two lane street.
4. yes lets ignore the rest of what he said and only read the throw in at the end. Simon is a 4th line winger with 13 career points. nobody said RFAs dont get more than 900,000, just the ones named dominik simon. there you go putting words in people's mouths again.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>StuTheSniper</b></div><div>Wow you guys are dumb. You basically just restated my first comment.
Google "sign and trade" and tell me the definition. I don't want no BS about how it translates to any other sport. I want a definition of a SIGN AND TRADE.</div></div>
So okay, as previously conceded, in the NBA's CBA, they gave this specific type of deal a name, that name being a "sign-and-trade." I will conced you are correct that to be an official sign and trade its gotta be NBA, i will give you that.
What I cant give you however is the rest of what youve argued.
1. This hornqvist deal is not an official sign and trade, nor did the OP ever say it is. OP said it would look like one of the many deals that he gave to you as examples
2. you asked for an example of a similar deal EVER happening in the NHL, OP provided a bunch, one of which was EXACT (Hossa)
3. Youre being silly if you think hornqvist is the signing to argue about here...
4. Horny's FA rights are far more valuable than a guy like Jimmy Vesey so no, hes not worth a 7th
5. It is incredibly common to refer to those types of deals as a sign and trade even if they arent in the NBA or exactly the same, sports borrow terms from other sports literally all the time. Hell sportsnet spent all of last season hyping a potential "Steven stamkos sign and trade" and while it neither happened nor would be a real sign and trade by your count, its perfectly normal and okay to use the term.
so there we have it our game is over and sure, you scored a goal but you still lost 5-1man

Rebuilt by Monday, plus more cheap rentals.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>Yeah... I just figured Hag was in the earlier Karlsson proposal as a salary dump, so I looked at whether he'd fit with Wash, said, "nah," and moved him onwards, to another noncommittal likely playoff team with cap space. Didn't really want himin the first place. Won't miss that fourth round pick.
As for that Pacioretty deal, I think Johansen and a 2nd, plus players works for an awful lot of rental players. McDonagh or Nash come to mind if some salary is retained.
More importantly, does Pitt have a different 3C they'd give up for a Norris contender? Otherwise I don't think the Caps offer Carlson, even for two firsts.</div></div>
is this a joke? Im all in on a joke but cmon Carlsson a Norris Contender????? As for the question im not sure what you mean by "different" 3c as our ONLY 3c is Riley Sheahan and theres no way in hell we give him up that would leave Carter Rowney centering Phil Kessel, and we only just got Riley this season ans hes bomb as hell, love the dude.
while we are at it, Justin Schultz outscored John Carlsson last year... im not saying points are everything but the pens would hesitate to even trade those two straight up yet alone add our third and fourth best wingers... AND a depth winger AND 2 first round picks!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>StuTheSniper</b></div><div>He wasn't right on every point. The only one even close to a sign and trade was Hossa, which happened 13 years ago and had arbitration hearings surrounding it, etc. Not the same. To think that this is possible with Hornqvist is out to lunch. Quit wasting my time.</div></div>
luckily, he never said hed be trading hornqvist like that. that was you that made it that way. So since you keep insisting the trade is that way, i have to tell you dude, theres no way that would happen in the nhl you are nuts to bring it up

hagelin is awful on slow, big bodied teams
drouin deal actually would be great for MTL but the minute you pull the trigger patches comes off the trade block and MTL is able to look good again as theyd have a real true #1 center, and theyd absolutely want to play him with patches

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>StuTheSniper</b></div><div>I doubt VGK would get rid of a 26 year old defender on pace for 40 points with a good cap hit for Carl Hagelin. Besides that, some of the RFA and UFA signings are low, so I don't think the team as its written there would fit under the cap.</div></div>
Which signings were low? Rust should get less than sheary as hes put up lesser numbers, 2.5 seems right. Jarry is a young backup, a mill is maybe underselling a bit. Sheahan got a raise after scoring literally like 2 goals in a whole season, plus theres a mill in capspace to make any of those work
