Tanev x 2
Outside opinion, so I can't say anything about the performance of or sentiment towards Oleksiak/Tanev, but if Seattle moves either of those two, it's because they are selling, and they certainly wouldn't tack on picks to move them. Certainly not for half a season of Brodie and the "prospect" that is Robertson.

Hartman actually has an NMC, so he'd probably say no as well as the Wild.

Sample size is small, but he's currently playing similar ice-time to Sergachev with tougher assignments and producing better metrics.
Would you trade Sergachev on a rookie deal for that?

It'd have to be 50% retained and Goligoski would have to be LTIR for the rest of the season. I wouldn't mind giving him PP time and sheltered third pair minutes once Spurgeon is back, but seems unlikely a GM would trade for the same rental player two years in a row.

Alright who wants him
Treliving signing these two former Wild rentals surprised me. Reaves played like 3/4 of the regular season for the Wild last year. I don't remember one fight out of him. Even when they put him on the ice the next time Logan Stanley was out there after injuring Kaprizov. Dude is nearly 37, so I can't blame him for throwing a couple hits a game to cash checks. At least Klingberg is just one year and Reaves contract is mostly buriable if it comes to that.

Bill saw Chicago dish out 4 and 4 to two gritty bottoms sixers and confused it as 4 x 4.
Good for Moose. Going to need some prospects to develop into quality players now.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojme</b></div><div>Sign a 37 year old free agent and then trade him with two cap dumps for a first? Seems legit</div></div>
Buffalo obviously has to outbid Boston in this trade scenario. Without Bergeron and Krejci next year, Boston could really use a guy like Bergeron.

Not a fan of either team but random trade idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tonyhzs</b></div><div>Actually a top line of Larkin Raymond and Rasmussen is pretty dang solid. Rasmussen has done nothing but get better every year to the point that losing him to injury cost tbe team a lot of points in the standings. He is better as a LW than center.
The 2nd line is Copp and probably Perron and Fabbri. If Fabbri can stay healthy that is. This is where losing Bertuzzi really hurts. Detroit lost over 80 man games between Bertuzzi and Fabbri, and if they were both healthy all season, Detroit probably gets another 5-10 points in the standings. In all honesty though, as long as Bergrren takes a step forward, the 2nd line should be Copp and Bergrren with Kasper or Perron or Fabbri. I'd also say Chiasson might see some time there too, as he has some snarl in his game. Copp gets a lot of flak, and yes more goals were expected from him, but most of his assists were primary as a defensively deployed center and he did it with a revolving door of wingers.
The 3rd line by season's end hopefully has Mazur, who looks very promising. I highly doubt Lombardi gets any games in the NHL next year, but he took a MASSIVE leap forward this season and tore up the OHL for 100 points and was top 5 in scoring. He sort of came out of nowhere.
The real challenge for the Wings is filling the 2nd pair RD, and the team desperately needs a goal scorer (Vrana was supposed to be that guy) who isn't a liability defensively or is so good he can outscore his defensive lapses like prime Patrick Kane. The team next year should be a 1st round exit or a just missed by a point type team.</div></div>
Makes sense. I like Fabbri's game, but dude seems like he's perennially injured. I like Mazur too, he was great for the Pioneers, but I feel like they should let him adjust with a full year in Grand Rapids, with a callup maybe happening depending on playoff positioning. And that was my one question mark as someone who doesn't follow Detroit too closely -- if Berggren is ready for a bigger role.
Also, I will say, it may seem like Detroit overpaid for Copp a little bit, but defensively sound middle six forwards still provide a lot for a team. Minnesota fans (me included) love Eriksson Ek for this.
Your comments have made me curious how Yzerman will approach the offseason; a few good UFA pickups could probably make the Wings a playoff caliber team, but it may be better to wait another year so prospects can develop before spending big.

He is terrible in the top 6. He needs to be sheltered playing the 2nd Pp unit and 4th line minutes against the other teams' 4th line.</div></div>
What do you expect Detroit's top-6 to look like next season? I'm not too familiar but I would guess it will include Larkin, Raymond, and Perron, then possibly Copp and Kasper, but who fills the last spot?

Winning on the cheap
There's some interesting pieces in that Nashville trade, but very much an overpay by the Wild.
I don't see Fleury being moved and certainly would not want Reimer to be the backup.
Foligno's trade value probably isn't that high, but I also don't see him being moved. He's a culture leader for the Wild.
I don't think that's a trade Florida would do and I'm not sure Goligoski would waive his NMC. Maybe.

Sure, him being a bridge is kind of the point while prospects develop. What is Detroit really losing in value in the trade? A soon to be UFA winger and an overpaid bottom pairing defenseman?
I do understand other commenters point about Chiarot providing some needed physicality, though. That is an important part of the game.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tonyhzs</b></div><div>So you're saying Detroit doesn't want to add 11 million to the cap on two below average players? Chiarot is not as good as Petry, but the cap hit is lower than both players coming back. Granlund is at 5 million for another 2 years, like Petry at over 6 for 2 years.
Detroit can handle 1 bad 4.75 million contract for 3 years. It won't be hard to move if it becomes troublesome. Worst case he gets put in the minors for the last year if he can't be traded. A better scenario is if he is the 7th D , albeit way overpaid. His contract expires just as Edvinsson will need a raise.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JoeROFLCOPTER</b></div><div>I don't know how this trade was thought of but man a 1st and a 2nd better come back our way for this ****</div></div>
I can understand disliking the trade after seeing people on here making posts "dumping" Petry, but that's not something a good front office would do. Ignore those, he still has value. The only hinderance to a trade is his $6.25M cap hit after COVID limiting cap increases. Petry is quite a bit better than Chiarot and Detroit seems like they're in need of an RD2 after moving Hronek. The $4M added to Detroit's cap from this trade seems pretty inconsequential to a team that likely won't be all that much above the cap floor, assuming Yzerman isn't planning on making a big splash with trades or on UFAs.

Fair enough. I see a lot of posts on here trying to get rid of Granlund, but I think he'll be better next season. If they re-sign Zucker, put Granlund on the opposite wing. Those two helped a 32 year old Staal score 42 goals.

I don't think Roslovic is a guy they'd target. I think they just wait it out and see if Rossi can be the guy.
And I don't see a lot teams lining up to take a 38 year old 6th/7th defensemen at a $2M cap hit, let alone pay any assets to do so.

How is a 173 lb PP specialist playing only 16 minutes per night with a -16 on a team that has scored 22 more goals than it has surrendured have the value of 43rd OA and an early 5th round pick?
He does not have half the value of Tyson Barrie who has 54 pts in 80 games (Addison has 28 pts in 60 games) and many feel he was nearly worthless or even a cap dump.</div></div>
I mean, maybe the 5th two years from now is a bit rich, but a team traded a 2nd for Lias Andersson when he was bad in his opportunities in New York and a rebuilding team traded a 2nd for Jack McBain, who had yet to play a single NHL game. I believe in the business they call it "potential." Potential to get better what the player is already good at, and the potential to improve on weaknesses. Trading for a 31 year old Tyson Barrie is a little different than trading for a 22 year old.

No to the Minnesota trade. I'm sure Guerin would like Greenway to play more physical and use his size, but same could be said for Mayfield. We don't need to dump Greenway, nor pay a premium to do so when we'd be better off just sticking with Dumba.

Value aside, I doubt Hartman and Merrill get moved since they're signed for cheap and with term. The Wild need those type of contracts while they get through the Parise/Suter buyouts.
