Is that what it would take? Two top tier prospects and a first at least?
For flames fans… we know this won’t happen haha. Just curious what debricant would cost

Hard no from the flames. Agree brown would be a great addition… but move picks and a different prospect

How does Francis have a job
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Because Francis drafted the core of the Carolina Hurricanes, who are now one of the best teams in hockey. His stock will come on draft day. He won't get immediate results, but he did enough to make the team marketable (which they are) and sell out games (which they're doing) without risking their future draft stock. They've got assets to move, and Francis knows what he's doing on the draft floor. He did a good job from an owners perspective trying to make it marketable, and he's done a somewhat good job setting it up for the future. The one thing he's probably messed up is signing both goalies long term when they are eating several shades of sh*t</div></div>
Totally disagree here. Read the post before. He still could of taken a better team, used those to help him in the draft. You can’t defend Francis one bit on this

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>they still could have gotten wright or bedard by flipping assets of those good players. Imagine the return they would have got if they picked Tarasenko, retained 50% and sent him off to a contender. They had 1 shot to leverage getting picks and prospects and only got a couple mid round picks, Wild</div></div>
Exactly… I remember watching the draft when and thinking.. hmm there must be some deals going on behind the scenes to take some of these players…. They didn’t get a single pick hahah. Would of make sense not to take tarensenko if the blues were like hey here’s and 2nd round pick. This still rattles me

Exactly.. looking back at it it’s actually mind boggling haha

Problem is he is still very streaky so will probably never get over $7M not being on the level of the Makar's and Hughes' of the world and being significantly older</div></div>
Can almost guarantee you that a lot of teams would give a top 4 solid dman a multi year contract north of 6mill. Sorry just don’t think it’s realistic

Didn’t really think he’s an actual trade target. I’m sure Buffalo will want to retain their young talent. Just wanted to look around at good contracts who could fill the void of 2C for the flames. Tall task but he would be worth it imo

2 Moves for depth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yycofred</b></div><div>Gaudreau 5-6/ 8.75 - 9
Tkachuk 6-8/ 8.75 - 9
Mangiapane - 3-5/ 4.5 - 4.75
Those are just my thoughts, obviously you'd love to lock up Mangiapane long term but look at deals like Colton Sissons, Mangiapane is obviously a better player but the Predators thought they were locking up a 30 ish point per year guy and now they've got a 28 year old winger that has put up 15 in his last two seasons with a contract for 4 more years. 3 - 5 years could be really good for both player and team.
Gaudreau and Tkachuk ideally just sign matching 8.5M/year deals long term, obviously doesn't happen and I think Tkachuk get more term and money than Gaudreau, throw the full $9M for max term at Tkachuk, get Gaudreau between 4- 6 years, let him negotiate another contract after this one in Philly if he wants. Will be a very interesting off season, Treliving has been great at re signing his own guys but they've all been RFA's, hopefully he can get a good deal on Gaudreau and long term for Tkachuk to avoid that 1 year 9M qualifying offer!</div></div>
Yah this is very accurate to what ive been reading… i think 5-6 is perfect term for Johnny. have read that mangi wants short term.. which like you said might not be the worst option giving the history of other contracts. Would of preferred to have both chucky and johnny locked up at this point as johnny value continues to go up lol

What are you thoughts on the contracts of those names? Been thinking about next year. a lot and am very curious what the market price is for them. Keep hearing Mangi would want short deal around 4-5mill

Love these moves.. Kubalik may need more but if we could get him that would be huge for depth.. also think we could make it work money wise if we move some contracts (Lucic, etc)
