Lightning
Think this is a hard pass for Tampa, market for Cirelli is certainly higher and Krebs adds little to no value, unfortunately.

Perhaps a realistic stammer stays scenario
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brolekb2b</b></div><div>Utah has no defenseman under contract other than the rights to their RFAs. Trading Cernak there to a team that now needs to make a lasting impression on a new fanbase by showing a commitment to spend their draft assets benefits both parties.
I'm sorry, but reuniting with the holy ghosts of Barclay Goodrow and Tyler Johnson just don't seem like great ideas. Better investments to make with their cap hits, and TJ is far from the same player he once was.</div></div>
Like the thought of Utah, but do think I'd rather get a solid lower cap player than draft picks. Could possibly get behind trading for McBain and picks but I'm not sure if Utah goes for that.
Think you're underestimating Johnson a bit, guy is by no means the player he once was( I was a loud advocate for moving him a few seasons ago), but he's a solid bottom six guy. 30+ points in 3 of the last 5 years, that's better than anyone in the current bottom six an I think for a decent price he'd be a good guy to bring back (or maybe I'm just too high on him)
Goodrow I could take or leave, but he brings some of that physicality we'd lose if we move on from Jeano with the benefit of being a better player overall.

Stammer Time
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan</b></div><div>Am I missing something on Cernak? one of my favorite defenseman the last couple years. Rangers definitely accept this and flip Trouba.</div></div>
He's a great defensemen, not afraid to go out there and take a puck to the body and lay someone out. But he's hurt all the time. Averages only 60 games a season since he's been in the NHL and has never played more than 70 games a season. I love the guy and want to see him do well, but think his cap space could be better used elsewhere.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsradynasty</b></div><div>And Demelo is about 3/4 the player maybe big F***ING L for TB pound sand</div></div>
Weirdly aggressive for an internet form but go off I guess.
Anywho, DeMelo has been a better player than Cernak in essentially every category except hits (including blocks, by a long shot) since 2020.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsradynasty</b></div><div>Stamkos signs 2-3 million cheaper than that and both the Vancouver and Washington trades completely suck</div></div>
I don't know if I see the value I keeping Cernak given his injury history. The guy averages 60 games per season since joining the NHL, DeMelo (his replacement in this scenario) averages 70 in that same timeframe and has only played less than 75 games once since 2020, Cernak has never played more than 70.

Updated 2020-21 somewhat realistic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BCAPP</b></div><div>I think other teams would happily offer him 4ish million</div></div>
I think if that's the case we do what we can to keep him but at the end of the day this is unfortunately a business. Maybe we move on and keep Bogo or Shatty, or bring in some young talent for a better price?

Detroit isn't trading what is likely another top-4 pick plus what is essentially a late 1st round pick in a deep draft for someone who wouldn't slot in above Larkin on their depth chart.</div></div>
I see where you're coming from, but I think he could compete for Quick's job.

What about a 2nd both years? or 3 this year 2 next year? Cirelli is really hard to value. He's a great player, and most teams would love to have him but his price & value point is really hard to determine.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BCAPP</b></div><div>Why wour Cernak accept that?</div></div>
I think right now he still has to prove he's worth bigger money. Obviously, I've cleared up some space so there's some room to negotiate. I could see us giving him up to 2m but anything more just doesn't seem worth it to me. I think something like this- a lower price for a short time frame- gives TB some time to see if he's worth bigger money, and allows him to prove himself without being tied to a low-level contract long term.

Anaheim isn't necessarily the team I see johnson going to, it's really any team willing to give up a 3rd or 4th rounder for him. I just chose Anaheim because it was first.

Somewhat realistic 2020-21 option
A lot of questions about Sergy/ chernak. I originally had Sergy at 4m but could see that going to 4.5. chernak on the other hand I don't see us offering much more than 1.5 at least not this time around. He's still gotta prove he's worth the bigger money. Maybe sign him to a shorter contract, say 2-3 years and take it from there.
Also saw some mentions of keeping killer instead of bringing Namestnikov in. I love killer, and he was the last move I made, but think his value is high right now and it just makes sense. Coming off a nice season and looked great in the playoffs, but the deal has longer-term upside (tho I understand LAK may not want to part ways with Kempe.)
Last point: I'm definitely aware the Cirelli contract is unrealistic but I'd like to see us trade away his rights.to really any team willing to give up a few high picks.
