Maximal Change (from the opposite side)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Truebeliever</b></div><div>It's trading future for present. It makes sense because the window for the Ducks to win another Cup with Getzlaf, Perry, Kessler and Cogliano is closing over the next 2-3 years. Pacioretty is 3 years younger than the first three and would fit under the cap on re-signing. Byron is 5 years younger and faster than most anyone on the Ducks, which was a clear deficiency last year. Reilly is better right now than Larsson, though Larsson's upside is higher. Comtois and Larsson are the only sure bets. Jones is lagging in the skating department and needs time (think Kerby Rychel) and Groulx is a typical 50/50 second-round prospect.</div></div>
The issue is, if Patches doesn't re-sign then the Ducks basically gave all that away for nothing. I would rather have Larsson, Jones, and Comtois then 1 year of Patches.
GMBM also said he would not trade the future away for a rental player. There was a reason why he didn't go out and grab any players at the TDL last season and hasn't made a big splash in FA. Larsson is 21. Reilly is 25. I hope Reilly is better than him. Still not trading away Larsson for that package and no extension on Patches.
Yes, Patches and Byron are younger but so are Steel, Terry, and Jones who could all make the jump to the NHL this year. Once again no need to trade the future away right now. Plus, if Kesler is out for the whole season you don't make this trade and you let the kids come up and play to gain experience.
Byron is no better than Cogliano. I would rather keep Cogs before trading for Byron. Larsson has a higher ceiling than Reilly. The trade then turns Patches for Jones and Comtois. On paper is an okay trade but you still need that extension from Patches before you pull the trigger

I think he took more offensive zone penalties then he scored. Hahahahaha

Skinner
Where should is start? First Getzlaf has a NMC. He’s also still a legit #1 C and not gonna be traded for a rental. Eaves is playing this year so his cap hit will be on the books. Cogliano hasn’t played C in years. And overall this was awful.

No one ever does Ducks AGM, lots of great prospects..but can they still compete?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jp_harvey</b></div><div>We're talking about a long term deal here. He would not be given that type of money on a 2 year deal, at least not right now. That's a good signature for both party and the risks aren't that high for the team since it's a relatively low cap hit (3.3M$/year is the NHL average now). Still, he's a first round pick, big, physical, can score goals in dirty area...these are hard to find and almost always gets rewarded when the time comes. You say he can never put up more than 15 goals...he played only 2 full NHL seasons, he's only 22 years old with 186GP behind the belt, not even playing PP minutes yet, plays mostly on the 3rd line and still puts up those numbers.
ANA has two choices :
1) Sign a bridge deal at 2x2.3M$ or 3x2.9M$ (seach for same type of player and you find they all got around those numbers)
2) Take a small gamble and sign him long term 6-7 years at around 3.8-4M$ a year. (Again, search for similar players and you'll see for yourself)
And we all know that the Ducks loves to extend their players long term right after their ELC. History speaks for itself.</div></div>
Wait a second here....are we watching the same Ducks team? Also, we aren't watching the same Nick Ritchie that you are talking about. The Nick Ritchie we see every game takes a dumb penalty in the offensive zone and then gets benched.
I would rather bring back Kevin Bieksa to play forward then bring back Ritchie for $3.9 a year...

Would We Do This?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ducksfan93</b></div><div>Someone is way over valuing Nylander here. A top 4 d-man, our top Center prospect, one of our top, if not the top D prospect in the org. and Ritchie.... Oh and Nylander has to be resigned. jesus!!! Hall got traded for Larrson. haha. dont get me wrong, Nylander is a really good player, but not worth that price.</div></div>
Plus, the roster as I posted it really makes the hole at the top-right-hand side of the defense pretty obvious, doesn't it?

Would We Do This?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ducksfan93</b></div><div>This really depletes the D in a bad way. And it cash straps the Ducks from doing ANYTHING to improve for a few seasons. Barring the Ducks ridding themselves of the Perry contract. Which I highly doubt they will. And Holzer is just not a guy for top 4 minutes. He can barely contribute in the AHL.</div></div>
When I first thought of joining CapFriendly in 2017, my initial efforts were to trade Corey Perry. After about an hour, I was ready to hit the "Include in Trade" tab and I noticed the NMC flag. So I quit and didn't come back until this year.

Pacioretty.... please
Blandisi doesn't really interest me too much and we already have 4 2nds. Silverberg is a good NHL piece that would give us some roster players to get through a rebuild, but he's going to be a 30 year old middle six winger by the time we are ready to compete so he's really of no interest to the Habs as being a focal point of a deal. Since I assume Steel is obvious off limits, maybe something like;
Silverberg
1 of Mahura, Comtois, or Jones (In that Order)
23 Overall
for
Pacioretty
2018 2nd (which one depends on which prospect)

Acceptable Panarin trades
Don't get me wrong, because Panarin is an excellent hockey player, but I think you may have to lower your expectations a bit...
You've got 1 year of control left over him before he becomes a UFA. If he doesn't resign with you, one would have to assume that he's going to want to test the market.
You want Anaheim's top forward (Who's locked up long term on one of the best contracts in the NHL), their top prospect AND a first? No thanks.
Edit: Keep him. You need him.

This would be perfect for the Ducks. Can't see MTL doing it though.

One last push
I'd either go after a legit top 4 or don't bother. We've got plenty of 3rd pairing veterans, but, more importantly, plenty of young kids waiting in the wings to join the big club. I'm fine with:
Lindholm - Montour/Manson
Fowler - Montour/Manson
Pettersson - Beauchemin
or
Lindholm - Montour/Manson
Fowler - Montour/Manson
Beauchemin - Welinski
It's not necessarily the strongest line-up, but it's better than having Bieksa in the line-up. There is just no need to add Benn tbh.
Domi for Ritchie is fine. Although, Ritchie looked really good last night. Still, if ARI want to make such a deal, I wouldn't be against it.
