Pageau MTL Version
I read the description in the other post. God this is an awful deal for MTL. Pageau is not a #2 C, not even close. He could be a serviceable #3 C for face-offs who could have a bit more of an offensive role, with the speed factor. But in terms of value imo he should fetch nothing more then what MTL got for Eller; two 2nd rd picks. Brook is becoming a legit steal of a pick in the 2nd rd and should be Petry's replacement in 2-3 years. Including Lindgren and another 2nd + + is overkill.
No way. two 2nds tops (in terms of value) is what I'd give up for Pageau.

As an interesting historical side note, I think the last time that Carolina got looted that badly was during the American civil war.

Nylander has LEFT SWEDEN
Yep, he's on the flight. My inside info say his folks were pissed that Willy wasn't paying any rent at home and were eating their groceries. So he's gone to Switzerland to work as a picker on a farm. He's going to picking Swiss cheese and chocolate.

(CGY / MTL) - Valiev, Taormina for Kulak
Old teammate of Gallagher's for the Vancouver Giants. Both from Edmonton initially.
More solid asset management by Bergevin.
2 AHL dmen for a solid 3rd pairing NHL dman.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DoxiNoctae</b></div><div>For all those trade been done over Peca are probably blatant ignorance or people that wish for big centerman!</div></div>
100% agree.. it's ignorance with no research into his game. He played very well int he preseason and I am looking forward to seeing him play some more. I think Plekanec is going to spend a very short time this time around in Montreal. His game is not what it used to be and we will need Peca. People need to give him a chance. The Habs didn't sign him for 1.3 mil just to trade him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DoxiNoctae</b></div><div>Wouldnt pick Carrick but Alexeyev is a great idea!</div></div>
Might be moot anyhow. Carrick appears not to be on waivers after all, as first reported. Might be a trade inbound.

Montreal Canadiens signed Phillip Danault (3 Years / $3,083,333 AAV)
Good signing. I think the term is a little short, considering what he has done to this team, but the cap hit is just perfect. If I were Marc Bergevin, I could've easily given him 4 or 5 years. But 3 was the minimum.

(With Mete and maybe Reilly being the only exceptions to that. Here's hoping another guy on that list proves me wrong)</div></div>
He’s definitely not top 4 you’re right but this signing, and the signing of the two Czech D show a paradigm shift, to sign younger, faster more offensive players than pylons like Benn, Schlemko and Alzner. I’d expect 2 of the 3 to be phased out by the beginning of the season

Laval Rockets 2018-19
Evans, Alain, Verbeek, Pezzetta at center. Bitten also makes the jump, potentially Fleury as well. McCarron is either a Hab or chopped (unlikely to clear waivers, not due to his current skills, but its a low risk for a team). Scherbak, Mete, Juulsen are all likely NHL, Lindgren good chance as well. Benn will be traded before he clears waivers to join Laval.

Deadline day
Honestly the lack of trades from the Habs on deadline day did not bother me one bit.
What really pissed me off was Bergefail’s press conference. What a joke that was. Only thing I saw during that was a coward trying his best to give the least amount of information humanly possible to the media, and by extension, the fans.
The amount of BS coming out of Bergefail.... “we don’t know where the Pacioretty rumours came from”.... seriously, I’m willing to bet there’s was a collective eye roll from everyone in that press room. And when Bergefail continued to deny trying to trade Patches, a reporter called his bluff and asked if he would sign him to an extension July 1st. And Bergefail’s answer was terrible, completely trying to deflect the question. “He’s an important player, but it’s too early to talk about what might happen after July 1st”....no Sh¡t Sherlock! It’s because you’re trying to trade him!
Honestly a bit of transparency would be appreciated from Management to the fan base. Habs fans don’t need a stinkin letter, all we want is the teams biggest representative (GM) not lie and make a fool of himself on national television...because it makes the fans look like fools too. Ever heard of the saying “who’s the bigger idiot? The idiot or the one that follows him?” I don’t think Moulson or Bergefail have.

Think you’re overreacting a tad... they’re not shopping him. They didn’t send a email out to all other gms saying they want to trade him. Other teams came to him because the team sI struggling and it’s his responsibility to listen. Of course he’s trying to keep it a secret!!! Teams don’t send out a list of players that could be traded to the fans they make the moves they want. Don’t be so naiive

Feel they didn’t trade away everyone they should have (Benn, Schlemko) but it does tell me that MB won’t be undercut even if it is on depth players. Clearly had a price for those players and the price wasn’t met

He's played really solid this year, so he deserves the extension!
But typical Bergevin though lol has to stockpile his 4th liners, can't lose those!!!
