Andersen hasn't even been an offensive upgrade over JT compher the past 3 years, while Compher PKs and can play C...Andersen hasn't played a lick of the PK. He is getting paid like a high end 2nd liner to produce bc hes not very good defensively but he produces at a 3rd line rate. That is not 5.5m worth
Compher is not a special player. but he does what Andersen does offensively for 2m cheaper, while playing the PK and on the 2nd unit PP. You get more mileage in the player at 3.5m vs 5.5m. Andersen hits more and is a better skater....yeah that isnt 2m worth investing in more of</div></div>
I only read articles from every time hockey outlet each day about teams wanting g Anderson and an Anderson type player. I’ve yet to read any about Compher but I’ll keep reading everyone everyday like I have for the last twenty years I’m sure their will be one about how there are multiple GMS Inquiring g about him and how great of addition he would be to their team and how they would love him Im sure there is articles out there about it I just haven’t seen one yet or ever!!

How did he look in the playoffs last year especially conference finals ??? Anyways opinions are like A- Holes everybodys got one. Makati is my favourite player in the nhl and Mackinnon. Not far behind just hope they get to hoist a cup. But not if you guys were the GM they ain’t goi g to win ****. It’s too bad.

Way worse contracts out there. Tyler sequin Jamie been
Jeff skinner Josh. Bailey pageau etc and the list goes on and on seems like you r not up to speed on how nhlers are getting g paid now 5 million is about the right price for a 50 point winger that’s about the standard right now and will only continue in that trend moving forward. 30 goal scorers 60 point guys usually 6 mil + and the same for 70 point 7 mil + and so forth that’s basically the nhl pay scale now you can find some outliers yo that but the are one offs or having an odd great or and odd bad year

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Savard is one of the worst defensemen in the league, his 5v5 play is abysmal. He was 15-41 goals in CBJ, 2-10 in Tampa and is currently 17-29 in Montreal. He's old, slow and can't defend at the NHL level anymore. Hard pass.
Lehkonen isn't a bad player, but he's a 3rd line winger and that limits his value. He's not worth prime assets.
Allen MAY be an upgrade in Koskinen (debatable), but Koskinen is the Oilers 3rd best goalie, there's no need to pay anything to "upgrade" a 3rd goalie.
Perreault may be an upgrade on Turris but he's not $1.5M cheaper (math is hard, isn't it) and Turris is like the Oilers 14th or 15th forward - no reason to go out and buy an "upgrade" for that position.
So no deal. You aren't even close to a deal.</div></div>
Your buying cap space to buy real upgrades please stop thinking like an oiler fan and start thinking like a Tampa executive

Lehkonen is a 3rd line LW, he's not better than Foegele so not an upgrade either.
Allen is a career backup who is below average this season. The Oilers have at least two better goalies when healthy, maybe three. Not an upgrade.
Perreault is a 4th liner, not an upgrade on any Oilers player either.
Hard pass.
Totally mystified that you think this package of bums is worth a 1st + Barrie + a top prospect. The level of delusion is hard to fathom.</div></div>
Savard is top 4 Defenseman who actually plays Defense which Barrie can not every oiler fan I talk to is begging someone to take Barrie and his 4.5 million dollars off the roster so Savard upgrades you defensively while saving 1 million. Plus he would instantly improve Keith’s play as well they would actually work well together. So there is that instant upgrade and cap savings. No need to thank me there.
Next Lehkonen can play either wing and is one of the best defensive forwards in the league period. He is exactly the bottom six depth the oilers need he improves any bottom six forward you have. Allen is an upgrade on kosinken evzryone knows that owe and just saved you another 2 million. And Perreault is upgrade on turris as well while saving you another cool 1.5 million.
So like I said upgrade everywhere plus 5 million roughly in cap savings which you can use now to acquire another upgrade any any position you fancy or stay as is miss the playoffs and piss off Connor and Leon some more I’m just answering the calls of Edmonton fans who say they need help and these are the positions they are saying we get way more selling piece off separately to your competition.
League wide 5 million cap spca asking price is roughly a first just saying that’s the going rate.

And no mistake about it LA wants in on the playoffs this year for their young players to get a taste and experience and for the old boys who only got two or three years left to pull one out in that city. Basically Gallagher will replace brown who is done in three four months

The first is for chia rot who we retain on and take the Ollie Matta cap dump. So immediate upgrade on your left d plus cap savings. Gallagher retained to 5.5 is your basically your average price for too 6 established forward you just happen to be getting g a 30 goal score which makes 5.5 million on steal when you consider what he brings to the table beyond the 30 goals. All for one former A prospect with skating and back question marks. I’m not too sure it takes Blake and company long to say yes to that deal

Biggest concern in this deal is really vilardi s back issues his career was almost over before it started and it doesn’t take much to re injure the back once it has been before especially in this game.

Danault has made several of our players look good, finding a player with chemistry with him isn’t the issue, they just need a sure fire 25 goal player if they are spending $5M+ on his winger.</div></div>
Gallagher hasn’t even started to decline yet. All the defense are catching g up on how to play him that’s all. He’s still 30 + goal scorer and top six RW
AND BEREGVINS FAVOURITE PLAYER IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE. So that said the odds are very great he will be goi g to LA. And they will be paying the price for a top 6 RW 30 goal scorer .

Petty has the exact same value as he did last year. And the year before that. He has played injured in every game this year. His contract is a steal when he is playing healthy. His value is exactly what is described in the details. That is his actual nhl value not perceived value by fans of other teams. If I was Montreal I definetly keep him because he and Edmundston were as good a pair as any defense pair in the nhl last year and will be again next year I think edmundstons finished first or pretty darn close to it in plus minus last year they shut down everybody’s best players. Haters going to hate though try to drive value down because he started the year injured

TDL and Draft
Take lekonen out of Edmonton deal then you have a fair value trade that would work. As it is you are basically expecting lekonen for free. And the as it stands now Romanov is playing top pair minutes and is impressive defensively. So the difference between him and chykrun isn’t that big a gap anymore and will be less and less every game on from here on out. So Montreal doesn’t touch that trade. Maybe norilander, ylonen, and a 1st in 2024. But that’s about it
